My dog had parvo and was hospitalized here. My dog also continued coming here for the rest of her vaccinations. The vet techs and the doctors are great, they really care about your pet. The front desk however lack customer service. Every time I go there they always give me unnecessary attitude (mainly the manager) even though I have spent LITERALLY thousands of dollars at this place. That being said I will not be returning here. Again, the doctors are amazing but the front desk need to do better. Read Less

I think this is a very good vet but they seem to be aware of it. I have been taking my dachshund puppy there for a couple of months. They make my little man feel like he’s the best dog in the world. I have now switched vets due to the lack of customer service. Every time we have been there the wait gets longer and longer. Last time it was 1 & 1/2 hours past our scheduled appointment. No one said a word or apologized. The dr told me I could schedule his neuter any time. I called but the only person that can schedule surgery was not there. She called me and while I was at work so I returned her call and again she was not there. I left word of the day I was wanting both times I spoke with the office. When I finally caught her at the office I was told the day I wanted was booked. Ok let’s look at next week. Dallas informed me the surgery schedule was not out and I would have to take my chances. No word on when it would be out. No let me hold a day for you or anything. It was only 5 days out. This is ridiculous. Your customers have to work and my days off change. Her response to me was “well we fill up fast”. In the mean time they hired another receptionist so they can make more appointments so the wait will probably be longer. Dallas’ attitude came across as she felt the were worth the wait and inability to get an appoint for my needs was to bad. They offered me an email for her supervisor. Very impersonal. I’m sure they have enough customers that me and my little wiener dog don’t matter but Dallas you need to find a new career. Read Less

Yesterday (6/4), my partner and I had a 10am appointment for our 4-year-old dachshund/pekingese mix critically ill with congenital spinal issues in his neck and lower back to discuss his quality of life and next steps, knowing that we'd likely be facing a heartbreaking decision -- which, to our sorrow, we ended up doing because the surgery required completely exceeded our financial means. And while the vet who worked with us (Dr. Albeisa Rut Garza) was endlessly kind and compassionate, for which we were grateful, we did not leave the clinic until right around 4 hours had passed since our original appointment. 4 more hours that we had to spend with our beloved dog before saying goodbye to him, granted. But also 4 hours that he spent in a great amount of pain and, additionally, distress from being at the vet (which he intensely disliked), and 4 hours that we spent agonizing over the inevitable heartbreak staring us straight in the face. We waited almost 1.5 hours to be seen by either a technician or Dr. Garza. After we'd waited for an hour, I checked with the reception desk to ask for an estimate of when we'd be seen and was told that they were running behind and that we'd likely be called to a room in 15-20 minutes -- on top of the hour we'd already been waiting with, again, our critically ill dog in a lot of physical pain. After finally being taken to a room and informing Dr. Garza that humane euthanasia was the best (and most terrible) option for caring for our dog given his situation and ours financially, an additional 2.5 passed before the procedure itself was carried out. We passed those hours waiting in the room with our dog (still very much in pain, still very much distressed) as Dr. Garza and the tech assisting her came and went with paperwork for us to sign, took our dog to the back so the IV could be placed, and doing I'm not sure what to get everything in order for this awful but -- for an office like this -- completely routine and, all things considered, quick procedure. Leaving us sick with grief, overwhelmed with not wanting our dog to suffer anymore, and increasingly bewildered at why it was all taking so long. At no point when we checked in (early, I might add) for our 10am appointment were we told that the office was running behind that day. At no point did any member of Town & Country apologize for the extreme and completely unacceptable delays. Nor was it ever evident to us that the office expedited caring for our dog once they learned that we'd elected humane euthanasia because of the amount of discomfort he was in. I cannot believe that it took as long as it did to be completed once we were finally taken to a room. I completely understand that, as an emergency hospital, Town & Country employs triage to treat the most critical patients first. What I do not understand, however, is the disconnect between our dog's critical situation and the unreasonable amount of time we waited for his suffering to be ended. It's bad enough to be in the shattering position of knowing you will be losing the animal companion you love. To be subjected to waiting approximately 2.5 hours for that event to occur -- after already waiting 1.5 hours -- is both insult to injury and a terrible reflection on this establishment. Read Less

It has been many months since we went in, but we brought our baby girl, who ended up dying in my arms on the way there, to them. They met us at the counter and took her straight back even though I was sure it was too late. They were patient with the paperwork and the selection of urn we wanted. We scrapped up the money to get procedure done. We were told when it was time to remove stitches it wouldn't cost anymore. But when we arrived they put her in a room then Linda Harris came in for not even 5min and said they have to re-do procedure. We declined for financial reasons. So they charged us for the visit. We were outraged. How can they say one thing then change it. If your pet is hurt be sure you trust your vet. And get everything in writing. As for us I think we will find d a lawyer. Read Less

The communication level between the customer and the office is nonexistent and the front desk staff are the rudest group of women I have ever come across. My significant other recently had an emergency with is pregnant dog and it looked like she may require an emergency C-section. This vet hospital was the closest one to him that had the equipment for the delivery, should that be required, so that is where we took the dog. After $400 for an x-ray and exam, he was told that the dog was not going to be able to deliver naturally and would, indeed, need surgery, which would run between $2000 to $3800. Neither of us had that kind of money and in the end, he was forced to do the only other thing he could do - euthanize her. Through all of this, the veterinarian and vet techs were cold and appeared completely uncaring while watching someone cry his heart out for his baby. This dog was just under 2 years old and healthy otherwise. No other options offered. No other ideas for being able to save an otherwise healthy and happy dog. I've never seen vet staff so uncaring about their patients and family. I can say with certainty we will NEVER use this vet hospital again and I will do my best to steer people who care about their babies away from these people. Read Less

We showed up 15 min early for our appointment. Then waited in the uncomfortable lounge for an hour and a half with no a/c. Once we were admitted to a room we waited another 45 min. Then the doctor/vet told me I was lucky it wasn't a 3-4 hour wait. He looked at my puppy for about 60 seconds and didn't listen to any of my concerns. I told him the only reason I came across town to his clinic was because the puppy first visit was part of his wellness plan. Doctor told me he didn't feel like treating my dogs health concerns and I should probably just go see my regular vet where I take my other dogs. I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone!! Read Less

I took my cat ther because she was twitching and having muscle spasms uncontrollably. She was foaming at the mouth and would fall over as if she was exhausted. After their exam the vet told me that she had toxic poisoning from the flea drops we gave her the day before. He told me that she would have to be hospitalized for 3 to 7 days. The tèatment she needed was going to cost $2000 to $3000. I was very upset because I knew I couldn't afford it and I did not want her to suffer. I assumed that my only other option was to put her down. My wife was at work at the time and we were texting back and forth. She said that one of our other cats had experienced the same thing and all she did was give him a bath and he came out of it and was fine. The vet said that the poison was in her muscles and would require the teatment. They give me two quotes one for the treatment and the other for the cost of putting her to sleep. I listened to my wife and took her home and bathed her really good. Around four hours later my cat was doing a lot better. She wasn't showing any of the things she had before taking her to the vet. And by the next morning she was back to her old self, playing, eating, and purring. I can't believe that this vet was going to let me kill my cat. They had to have known that her condition wasnt life threatening and that a bath would probably bring her out of it. All they care about is the money!!!! I was literally crying for her in the way home thinking that I was going to lose her. And they let me think that way. They did nothing to give me hope or to change my grief. Never take your animal there. The staff were very nice but other than that they either need more experience or they purposely allowed me to think that my cat was sicker than she really was. She knew when to give my baby a few minutes because of her excessive panting and anxiety. This showed me she cared. She even brought her water and treats in an attempt to ease my kitty but also put me at ease. They went over the pricing and didn't pressure me into anything before anything was done. It doesn't stop there. After the visit I received an email with my kitty's detailed records, which is Awesome! If I could give them 10 stars, I would! Everyone there from the receptionist to the techs to Dr. Brown have been absolutely exceptional! I first took my 10 year old chocolate lab Lola there for what I thought was bloat. They took her immediately back. Dr. Brown found that she had metastatic cancer that spread to the lungs. The "bloat" was not bloat, but acites most likely from a hepatic lesion. This was a shock, because she showed no signs of being sick! Our other lab was just diagnosed with end stage heart failure 3 weeks prior, by our established vet. Dr. Brown drained over 2 liters of the fluid off. I took her home and our family for 3 more weeks with to love on her and say our goodbyes. He called me numerous times to check on her. When she declined and was suffering, I took her back there (instead of our established vet) to have her put down. They were so thoughtful and compassionate. They even mailed a sympathy card. I was so impressed with the staff and Dr. Brown, that I have changed vets and established care for my 12 y/o yellow lab Roxie for her end stage heart failure. (My previous vet told she wouldn't make it to Christmas and put her on Lasix only and essentially wasn't interested in trying to treat her beyond that.) Dr. Brown started her on an ACE inhibitor adjusted her Lasix and put her on meloxicam for her arthritis. She has her good days and bad days, but overall, much improved. Dr. Brown has called frequently to check in and see how she is doing. I've never experienced that kind of follow up from a vet or staff. Thanks to all there!Read Less

I have used this clinic 3 times. My experiences have varied and to keep this review short I will stick to the highlights. Before they treat they work up estimates on everything which is great but also not so great because as I have learned they DO NOT accept payment plans. You must apply for Carecredit. Secondly three visits in three days. First day, four hours just for labs and xrays. Second day, three hours for one xray. Third day, one hour. Lastly. I dropped my pup off in the early a.m. for a ultrasound. Was told the radiologist would be seeing him in the morning originally but then when I went to get him after work he had not yet been seen. I was told he had not ate and the clerk informed me he probably had not gone potty as they may need a full bladder for his exam. ALL DAY NO FOOD BATHROOM.Read Less

I had a horrible experience today. 1. The front desk fails to acknowledge the people that walk in. 2. The office is disorganized. 3. We took our precious Boston Terrier, Brody, to Town & Country Veterinary Hospital yesterday afternoon, after he had not seemed to be himself for the past 2-3 days. We suddenly saw a huge lump on the lower right side of his back, and we were frantic. The people there were so kind, and they were very helpful to us by explaining Brody's problems. They were not at all "pushy" when my husband and I had to make the decision to have our little boy put to sleep. The vet fully explained the x-rays and lab work results to us, and sadly, we saw that Brody was too ill to recover. We were so blessed to have Brody for 12 years, abd we know he had a wonderful life, but our decision to put him down was one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make. The compassion shown to us and to Brody was beyond measure! We are so grateful to all of the staff there for helping us through such a terribly difficult experience.Read Less

Took Tripp, my 2 year old Labradoodle, in with a twisted stomach. It took two attempts to diagnose it but he is alive right now because of the emergency surgery performed Monday morning from 1-3 AM. I am so happy I have him home with me now and am a little more optimistic with every day that passes. Tripp was given a 35% of survival after surgery. The staff was so kind to me. They made an exam room available and worked around it all day so that Tripp and I could be together. We camped out on a sleeping bag on the floor all day I don't think my regular vet in Boerne would have done that for me. They brought me water and were beyond kind. We were able to go home Monday night. Dr. Manning who did the surgery called me at 10:45 pm when he came back in to ask me to come and get more/different antibiotics for Tripp to make sure there was complete coverage. He was so concerned and said he honestly had not expected Tripp to make it. We have all decided Tripp is a miracle, but that is only because of the excellent care he has received. If I could give them 100 stars I would. Can't say enough about them.Read Less

This place has changed from a privately owned office to a corporate office. They have always been expensive and try to up-sell and push unnecessary tests and treatment. The only reason we use them is they have convenient hours and I can't find another vet that is any better. The staff are nice enough. The doctors tend to me young and seem a bit over their heads or maybe just busy. They drive me nuts with all the tests they want to run, tests that aren't necessary with a good physical exam and history. They cater to people who treat their animals like children and will spend money accordingly. If you love your animal but realize it's an animal be on guard. I would tell you to go somewhere else but I have no suggestions since that attitude is so common with vet offices now. Be prepared for them to push you hard to have your dog's teeth cleaned. I know dental stuff is the new exciting, and money-making, area in veterinary medicine but how do you suggest cleaning a dog's teeth with a straight face? Read Less

Literally the most unprofessional Vet I have ever used. The Vet's themselves were good, and we never had any issues when our dogs were seen. The front desk staff on the other hand is beyond incompetent. For two months we attempted to get our prescriptions filled for our dogs, but the Vet continually failed to approve them all (we have 3 dogs). They kept approving just one at a time, and it took us 6 or 7 phone calls over the course of nearly two months to get them to finally fill all three prescriptions. The staff would routinely say it would be taken care of and then fail to follow up, and the paper work was lost multiple times. Max was a stray that I took in and when he fell ill the staff scheduled us and got us in within a few hours.

Read Less

Read Less

We have been visiting Town and Country since 2004. The staff has always been kind, even to the point of doting over our 13 1/2 year old Springer. I hope they go out of business and never make another dollar!!!! Read Less

We have been going to Town & Country for almost 11 years now (since we adopted Stella). We've *ALWAYS* had great work from them. They have been respectful of our wishes, and have given Stella great care. This last time, we were really concerned that she may have developed cancer. The staff moved quickly to narrow down the diagnosis; and while it didn't turn out to be cancer, it is serious, and they treated it as such. Their services may be higher than others, but their level of care has never made me regret the decision to use them. Read Less

My 3 year old cat-child had her first visit Monday and We had a great experience. I was a little nervous but the receptionist was very nice and helpful.we were mistaking scheduled for a different location but she quickly fixed that and got us in even though we were late- The facility was clean and professional in appearance. The vet tech and the Vet were nice, gentle, and knowledgeable. The Vet explained things throughout the exam and answered my questions/addresses my concerns. This is definitely my new vet and would recommend them to anyone who wants the best of the best for their baby. Prices were very reasonable as well. Read Less

The staff is friendly, very professional & courteous.

I have taken my dog to Town & Country Vet Hospital for quite some time. He's older and has had recurring URIs and Pneumonia most likely due to allergies. I make it a point to schedule my appointment with Dr Manning. I have found seeing a different vet at same clinic is like seeing a new vet at a different office (they want to start their own diagnostics). Dr Manning has done a great job taking care of my dog. He is thorough yet doesn't make us go through unnecessary tests or procedures. I am confident that if he states it's required it is. His vet techs have always been nice. While I can hear them through the door I have never heard them say anything bad besides explaining why pets are there, symptoms, etc. I must say I am always skeptical about prices and service when companies merge/partner however, as long as Dr Manning is here we will continue to go here.Read Less

They've always done a good job diagnosing and taking care of my animals. One thing that was concerning is I don't think your techs realize we can hear them through the closed door. Marcus was yelling the f word and other curse words, talking about rednecks and so forth (wasn't sure if he was referring to me or just talking) but need to be more aware that people can hear them through the closed doors. It was hard to accept his fake niceness when he walked in he room after what I heard him saying through the door. As far as care I'm usually very happy. I have always used town and country as my emergency vet and they are good at diagnosing. Dr. Manning is awesome. He was so compassionate and forthcoming when I had to make a decision about putting my first dog down a year ago. The service is very slow!! I called several different private vets in the area (about 5) and was quoted anywhere from $16.50 to $35 and some places are complimentary when having another service done.....T&C wanted to charge at least 4 times more than the average place. I dropped my pup off in the early a.m. for a ultrasound. Was told the radiologist would be seeing him in the morning originally but then when I went to get him after work he had not yet been seen. Read Less
