Dixie LaRue 14 3/4 year old Rat Terrier and the people that worship her! 3/16/2022 She was tired when when we arrived home and she’s been sleeping well. It was a very great visit. Everyone was polite to my Son and me and most importantly, to Dixie LaRue! She will be 15 this Summer, and we are crazy about her! We got all of the shots done for her Annual visit, and the earthworm test was neg! You checked for anal expression, but felt it was not necesscary . You trimmed her nails and did a super job, Dr. Williams is always calming and helpful. He checked to see if her chip still worked and could be found, I just wanted to make sure. Her teeth were checked, and little growths that needed to be checked for her, and be wants me to measure one on her leg to make sure it’s not growing at faster pace than the other ones that he said look differently. So that if we need to remove it, we will have enough skin to close the wound. Everything was addressed even her weight loss of 1lb over the last year. Everyone we saw in the office front or back was so very nice and you could tell they love Dogs too!! Its people like you all that make us tickled to be able to get to use Dr. Williams and Dr. Sebby as our Veterinary Clinic. Thank you again for taking care of the sweetest Rat Terrier we’ve known. Everyone treated her like we treat her and that means so very much to us! We appreciate everything you do and we love the atmosphere your love of animals brings to the table! ❤️🐾🐾❤️ Read Less

I would like to start by saying that our dog to us is more than a pet he is a part of our family and has been my daughter's companion all through her college years. On May 29, 2020, my daughter took her dog Rocky to see Dr. Sebby to have his nails trimmed and his anal sacs expressed. One of the medical concerns with Rocky is that his anal sacs do not express as they should, and my daughter has to take him to the vet in order to have this done. Due to COVID no one is allowed into the clinic and an assistant went to the car to take Rocky out. Rocky was very anxious to get out of the car and the assistant was pulling at him aggressively and would not allow my daughter to help get him out of the car. Once inside the assistant called my daughter stating that he had broken a nail pretty badly and would be needing antibiotics. When Rocky was returned to the car he was visibly shaken and desperately trying to get back into the car. As my daughter was driving home she noticed the dog had feces on his anus and it was getting all over the car. At that moment she called the clinic and asked to speak to an office manager. Dr. Sebby's wife answered the call and started complaining about Rocky stating that his anal glands were full and when they expressed it, it got all over the walls. She would barely let my daughter speak and my daughter ended up hanging up the phone. When my daughter gets home, they proceed to clean the car and find Rocky’s nail in the seat. Therefore, his nail was ripped off when the assistant was yanking him out of the car. When my daughter called and told me what happened I called the clinic to speak to either an offer manager or the vet. Dr. Sebbys wife answered and proceeded to yell over the phone to let me know my daughter was rude and disrespectful and she wanted my phone number and name so that the doctor can call me. When I proceed to try and speak and tell her my daughter had to hang up because she was screaming at her she proceeded to tell me she was NOT going to give her husband Dr. Sebby my information and hung up. At no point in time did anyone show any concern or regard for ripping Rocys nail off nor giving him back to my daughter with feces. Instead what we had was Dr. Sebbys wife yelling and hanging up the phone. I fear to even think how they treated Rocky while he was inside. If you care for your pet and are looking for professionalism and just a caring clinic this in NOT the place. This is what is stated on their website: “You can rest assured that your pets are going to be showered with love and attention from our receptionists, our techs, and our veterinarians whenever they walk through our doors. We all started out as animal lovers who have made it our lives’ work to make sure your pets have an enjoyable visit to our hospital every time.” Our dog Rocky was not showered with attention or love instead he was yanked out of my daughter’s car which ripped his nail clean off. Dr. Sebbys wife did not show any attention to our concerns or to our dogs well being and this visit was anything but enjoyable for anyone. Read Less

I got my Doberman’s ears cropped here and they are great! I have to admit that I was skeptical as to how they would turn out, but she looks beautiful. Also, it was a quick healing process compared to other crops I’ve seen. I have taken her here for everything since because they take very good care of her every visit. Every once in a while I have come across an exceptionally long waiting time, but they are an emergency vet! Shit happens, so it is hard to blame them for taking care of those situations...I highly recommend Read Less

I hate to give this place a one star seeing as it had been my life-long vet clinic, until yesterday. Yesterday my mother was verbally assaulted by one of the front of desk receptionist who is also Dr. Sebby's wife. Her attitude was out of control, unprofessional and absolutely unacceptable. My mother is in her 60's and Christy went off on her for no apparent reason. All my mom did was she had asked a question about wether they had West Nile vaccinations in stock, she said she had been able to get them from Tractor supply before but would rather get them there at the vet clinic. Something about that simple question set Christy off, when my mom left this lady came running after her and circled her car taking photos and in general traumatizing my mom because it seems Christy was having a bad day before that. This is unacceptable. In addition, since they moved their clinic to the larger space every time I have taken my animal wether it be an EMERGENCY or with an appointment you generally don't get seen or taken care of by front of house or the doctors in a timely fashion. I once waited almost 3 hours and then had to walk out and get everything that I was about to pay $$$ for from petsmart instead. When the vets do get to you. they are awesome. Unfortunately, this clinic just lost customers that had been with y'all for over 20 years. Read Less

We seem to share the same opinion as Ms. Taylor's review below. Waited 75 minutes for a scheduled appointment and finally could not wait any longer. This was really irritating as I could have had my dog into another vet by now, but this appointment was earlier before my son's class. Would not recommend this level of service for anyone else. First time here to get my pup her shots and the vet assistant was very helpful answered all questions and explained everything. The only small issue i had was when it was time for checkout. I had never been here before so I asked one of the young ladies in the front where I needed to checkout and who I needed to speak to. Instead of guiding me she specifically said, "whoever gets to you first", with a smirk on her face. Now I thought that was very rude considering there were a couple of people checking out in the line next to her, in which I didn't realize until about 10 minutes of sitting and waiting for someone to call me... She could of easily guided me on where to go and what to do. Not to sure what her problem was.. other than that, all the other ladies were very helpful. At least now I know who to go to and not to and what to do. Thank you to the ladies that DID help. And to the lady that didn't, be kind sweetheart. Life's to short. Read Less

It would be nice if this vet had some transparency and would actually warn their clients when only one doctor is in the office BEFORE we show up. If I had known that I would be waiting an hour, or more, to be seen for an appointment at a specific time, I would have opted to come a different day. Please, when a client calls in for an appointment, and you're aware you'll have one doctor in, give us a warning. A simple "we will be understaffed that day so please be aware of added wait time". I shouldn't expect to have an appointment scheduled for 2:45, only to be finally talking to a vet more than an hour later, and then be put on hold in the examination room for 30 minutes with no explanation as to what is going on. I feel very overlooked and pushed the side while I assume the doctor treats other patients in between stopping into the exam room. This has been ridiculous. Read Less

With that I must say, I love Dr's Sebby and Williams, but Dr. Revis,Reaves or however it!s spelled is not allowed to touch my Dog. A year ago, she caused my Rat Terrier to spend a night in the Emergency Hospital in New Braunfels putting her through so much pain and costing my family a night in hell and a ticket of $1,400. She can't make a decision or a diagnosis and she just keeps her mouth shut like a mouse. Then you walk out and not know anything. She caused my Rattie to have an HGE because she would not give medicine refills that Dr. Sebby was giving her. She never sees my baby now! Dr. Sebby covered the cost of a sonogram to show he cared about my Dog and my family that Loves her So! With that being said! I love Dr. Sebby and Christy, and I love Dr. Williams! I am looking forward to their new building and hope they can offer emergency service there as an alternative to the Emergency Hospital in New Braunfels. Dr's Sebby and Williams are tops, just don't ever see Dr. Revis or Reves. To sum it up, I hate to know she sees anyone's babies, but I do love Dr. Sebby and Williams.Read Less

Provided inadequate care for a friend of mine's dog. A nurse admitted that she couldn't read the scans correctly and later it became clear that the white clouds visible in the scan were from a bacterial infection. My friend had already accrued over $5,000 in fees from the work being done and once he went to the San Marcos Vet Clinic the diagnoses came out completely different, and by then it was too late to do anything. This experience was awful for my friend. He had the dog for over ten years and was willing to go the extra mile at every turn to extend his best friend's life. When he vented these frustrations on Facebook Dr.Williams' husband responded back aggressively and threatening. On top of not respecting vet-client privilege, it's clear that this facility does not possess the minimum decency to respect people or animals. Read Less

I have seen Dr. Sebby once and absolutely loved him. The staff are kind and genuinely care about the animals. However, every time i make an appointment with Dr. Sebby I get Dr. Reavas. She is not thorough and I never seem to get an answer from her. She doesn't listen either. I paid a $20 fee to have her wrap my dogs tail (happy tail). I told her that it would not stay on the way she has wrapped it because of how forcefully my dog wags her tail. She argued and I dropped it, sure enough before I even had a chance to be checked out the bandage had flown across the room. Then when she re wrapped it, she used my tape that I just paid $15 to take home (instead of the tape she had in the drawer right next to her) and stuck the adhesive on the wound while rushing, making it horrible for my dog when I changed it today. The wound looks much much worse. I wish I hadn't even brought her in, we were managing better before I spent the $211. I won't be back.Read Less

Let me first say that Dr. Sebby has never let me down. He is amazing with animals and people alike. I cannot say the same for the pompous douche Williams, I will not call him a doctor because he doesn't seem to know what he is doing. I went in because my dog had an obvious ear infection, black stuff coming out and he was in a lot of pain, I spoke with the nice guy at the counter who then wrote the fact that my dog had an ear infection in my dogs file. Upon entering the exam room with the vet tech, who was also amazing, Williams came in with a coldness best described as a weak hearted person who cannot form personal relationships. He immediately started to rudely berate me on the use of heart worm medication, it IS very important, but he assumed that because I have not made an appointment to purchase the medicine from him in a year that my pet was not receiving the treatment. SO untrue, he gets it every month we just don't set up an appointment to buy the medicine, we just walk in. I told him that my girlfriend is the one who usually gives it to him but is out of town for 5 weeks. Williams asked if she left me any medicine to give to our dog. I said I'm not sure but she will text me when its time to give him the treatment. Williams then proceeded to tell me how many weeks are in a month like in my 27 years I have never figured that out. "5 weeks is over a month..hes supposed to get it every month and five weeks is over a month." He said dickishly several times with undertones of delusions of grandeur. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR INFORMING ME...THREE TIMES!! If you want to treat people like children be a pediatrician but probably too much schooling for you. You're a "DOCTOR" and THAT is the fact that you decided to share with me?? How many weeks are in a month?? That's some serious higher learning there guys. Now to the actual exam. Williams looked my poor pooch over, first his heart beat, then his stomach and lastly one ear and halfheartedly, remember he does have a weak heart, the infected ear. A totally of 22 seconds. He then told me everything was fine, I got another condescending lecture about heart worms and he attempted to leave the exam room. I said "are you sure everything is fine?" it should say on the paper he had an ear infection, of which you are totally oblivious. Williams then took a PROPER look at my dogs ear and wouldn't you fu***** know AN INFECTION!! ITS ONLY THE REASON I'M FU***** HERE!! ITS NOT A ROUTINE EXAM AND EVEN IF IT WAS YOU MISSED THE FREAKING EAR INFECTION!! EVEN I COULD TELL HE HAD ONE!! DAMN. In conclusion, if you're gonna be a DICK be good at your job. I will return for DR. SEBBY but it does piss me off that some of my money still goes the that haughty man Williams. Read Less

It just crossed my mind how great this vet was to me/my dog for 13 years. This vet was my Boxer's first vet many years ago. I moved to Austin after college and still brought him back to this clinic. It may not be the newest, brightest, slowest vet but I always had a great experience here. Prices are definitely reasonable. The office can get really busy but for the price and experiences I had, it was worth it. At one point my Boxer needed a tumor on his back removed and Petsmart quoted me over $1500 and I called Williams-Sebby and they got me in quickly and it costed about $130 for EVERYTHING required for surgery, tumor removal, meds, etc....I had to put my Boxer down last June and I called them to let them know...crying of course...they were very sweet on the phone and I received a card in the mail that week. I hope that if you visit this vet that you will receive great care like my dog did for 13 years. Thank you Dr. Williams and Dr. Sebby!! Read Less

First Impression: Run down and un kept office. Employees running around and unable to effectively answer questions.Wait time: Waited 43 minutes after my supposed appointment time because the doctor was behind.Visit: My dog had an exposed eye gland and needed treatment. The doctor barely touched the dog and did no physical exam. We spoke for 2 minutes about the possibility of surgery. Billing: I had to pay a 43$ "exam fee" for no physical and talking to a vet for 2 minutes about the obvious "need for surgery". I felt like it was ridiculous. I tried to argue with the receptionist and her answer was "without an exam fee everything is just a disaster". Say what? Dumb blonde.I was not impressed and left with a sense of awkwardness. I researched a bit and found a excellent, professional and experienced eye doctor in Austin named Schifrin who I highly recommend.I guess this place is hit or miss depending on the day/hour you go in. I prefer Dr Julie House in town, she's good, caring, explains everything and is fair when charging her clients. If you're on the fence, go with San Marcos Veterinary Clinic. Read Less

The office is dark and has rough Aggregate floors that appear dirty. Dr Sebby misdiagnosed ring worm on a litter of kittens. We went back when the kittens continued to get worse. My entire family ended up catching ringworm from the kittens.  We had to go to a different clinic to get  the correct treatment. We stayed with the other vet and have been happy. Then a neighbor of mine had a cat that was bitten by a snake. Dr. Sebby removed the leg, then it continued to get worse. They kept removing areas of flesh. The cat had weird stitches and staples in random places- it looked like Frankenstein. The ordeal lasted several months and the cat wasn't healing. The neighbor asked me to help because she was leaving town. I took the cats back to the Williams-Sebby Veterinary Clinic and they put her on another round of antibiotics, but the cats was continuing to get sicker. I took her to  the vet we had switch to and he couldn't believe the mess. He started trying to clean the wound and all the odd stitches because it never closed. As he cleaned the wound he started pulling pieces of infected bone from the open wound. He told me that we need to remove her infected collar bone at that point. The neighbor told me I could keep the cat because she had spent so much her husband was mad.  After my vet removed the infected collar bone and closed the wound neatly the cat was better within two weeks. The cat is doing great now after being so close to death for months. My other neighbor had a similar experience with surgery that got infected from Dr. Sebby  and she told me that she was so upset that she was considering filing a complaint with Texas Animal Health Commission. I wouldn't trust Dr. Sebby to do any surgery after seeing the results on Calie. Read Less

Wonderful little family owned vet. Dr. Sebby treats us like family and is very gentle with both my 15 year old cat and my 2 year old cat. He was the first to recommend a special diet for my senior kitty with medical issues. Everyone at the front desk is extremely welcoming. Shelby is my favorite. She priced matched the medicine I found online, gives me food discounts and is always so sweet when I need help. They also have incredibly low boarding costs compared to what my last vet had. I have only two complaints: #1 it can take awhile for them to get you to a room for your appointment, especially on Saturdays. #2 they aren't great about calling with test results. Sometimes you have to call and ask for them. Overall, great place to be treated like a pet parent and not just a pocket to pick. My favorite vet to date for sure. Read Less

My son and I started going to this clinic several years ago after a bad experience with another vet in San Marcos. The staff here is friendly and although the clinic is very busy, I can almost always get a same-day or next-day appt., even for non-emergencies.I take my parrot here to get her nails and beak trimmed and wings clipped.  I take my dog and my son's dog, (Dalmatian), here for routine shots, nail trim and emergency care when they are sick.Last year, the Dalmatian had swelling below her eye, which turned out to be a tooth infection.  Dr. Sebby prescribed antibiotics and the infection went away.  Same thing happened to my dog, with a suddenly open wound under her eye.  Antibiotics prescribed and healthy again.7 months ago, the Dalmatian couldn't stand up and had bad diarrhea.  We assumed she wouldn't make it, but after taking her to Dr. Sebby, she had a remarkable recovery. Two weeks ago, after clipping the Dalmatian's nails, Dr. Williams performed an anal gland expression and discovered that she had a tumor.  A few days later, the tumor was taken out and because of the early finding and removal, my son will have his beloved dog around a lot longer.I decided to have my small dog's teeth cleaned the same day as my son's dog's surgery, and the office staff was very accommodating with scheduling. Both dogs recovered beautifully, for a total cost of $455.00!  That included surgery,  anesthesia, antibiotics and pain meds for both dogs, and a blood panel and bordatella shot for the other.I would never go back to the previous clinic, even though it is 10 minutes from my house and Williams-Sebby is 25.  I am so content with Williams-Sebby vets and their staff, Don, Erica, Kristy and Renee. This clinic lived up to it's five star rating!  Our previous vet had lousy customer service...always getting voice mail, no response to email on their website, etc.   This was the exact opposite - friendly voice on the phone, quick scheduling, and email portal to view records and make appointments.  More important, the vet (Dr Sebby) was fantastic.   Big handshake and very engaging.  My dog, a little anxious and excited, calmed right down and let Dr Sebby examine him.  Good through examination and some common-sense recommendations for my dog.  Costs were noticeably more reasonable than our previous vet as well.  Great Experience!  Highly recommend to others. The first visit we brought our pup in, everyone was friendly.  The vet tech clipped our dogs nails complimentary.  Well, he clipped a few before drawing blood.  That was all our pup wanted of that.  Our pup had been having diarrhea, and we brought in a stool sample. The vet took a look under the microscope, and said it was a fungus.  We were also told they would send it out for further examination.  They never did this.My father, a vet of 45 years, one the phone, knew this was incorrect. We were then given a very strong medication, to which my father also warned against, especially given the faulty diagnosis.  I had left two messages with this clinic, before knowing they gave us erroneous information, and neither was returned.  I left a message on voice mail and also with the front desk person, with messages which would have warranted a call back that day.As a result, our pup was completely lethargic from the meds.  Not only did he has a very strong medication, he was also suffering from some other diagnosis. We then brought him to another clinic, and was given the correct diagnosis of Giardia.  He was treated and cured.  I see this facility has a lot of good reviews.  However, they failed on several levels with us, and I cannot recommend them. I started taking my dogs here based on the affordability and good reviews from friends who are customers. I seem to have a very accident prone dog - parvo, stitches, allergies, cat scratch fever, dog bites, you name it, I am usually in the waiting room at least once every six months to fix my broken dog, each time greeted by friendly staff (despite them being super busy!) and given a price tag that is usually less than what I expected. They don't order unnecessary tests or bloodwork for your dog that other vets might try to sell you. I have called them many times for advice and they are just as helpful over the phone. One time when I was in the waiting room, a dog sitting next to me collapsed and died. It was very sad for everyone who was there (especially the owner), and the staff, especially Dr. Sebby, were all so sympathetic and stopped what they were doing to apologize and offer an explanation and help the poor man figure out how to proceed. No "strictly-business" attitude....they respond as humans who understand what a pet means to us! My dogs (& animals) are my life.I have been to many an Austin vet.  I have ultimately paid the price, good and bad, since 2004. Due to my deep skepticism and being overcharged more often than not with most of these "city" vets, I started doing much research.I had given up.  I figured that there was just no reasonable vet in Austin from my experiences (keep in mind though that  I lost an older cat after a procedure done a few years back and then lost a dog unexpectedly recently, so I am sore at the overall vet scene.) However, I feel like we may have found a winner.I don't know if we will commit to anything but this was a great experience.A wonderful person named Sara and her family had referred me and they have continually taken their pets to this clinic since the mid 1980's.  That spoke volumes to me.I began researching.  I did not want to get too excited. My beagle has severe Austin allergies.   Many of us do.  He is only 3 and has developed hot spots, rashes, etc.  It was getting unhealthy fast.  I changed his diet, used the special shampoos, etc. as told to do by a different vet.  Nothing was working. He was shaking and itching all night despite many more changes made to help him as directed from a vet's recommendation. We got to Dr. Williams and Boris got a shot, a spray for his hot spots, and the Dr. told me exactly what to do as a course of action for the next four weeks.  He told me, sure, we could do extensive skin tests but even after that and the thousands of dollars it could take over time, there was a 50/50 guarantee that we may not even locate the culprit. He gave me so much information and ideas, etc, that it was a bit over my head with the great and effective info.  He told me to write everything down (and it's in my file too) so that way I could be working on how to heal Boris.  It has been a week since we have been there and Boris has not stayed up itching once after the shot.  He is not 100% back to perfect, but he is 85% better at this time.  I still have other options to help him along this recovery.  Just seeing him not itch and be so uncomfortable was surreal.  We will be returning. We had the office visit, shot, and spray to buy, and it was all under $100.  I had called 3 other good Austin vets and had quotes of 3 times that amount and they would have done the same thing as a start and as process of elimination. The price to me was unbelievable considering what I have spent since moving to Austin in 2004.Let me warn you, when you google this place, or look at citysearch, there are negative reviews about the office staff.  When I called the first time, I was very rushed but I could tell the office was very busy and when I went there, it was EXTREMELY busy so keep that in mind.  The office staff does not mean to come across that way, but when a place is busy that is a GOOD THING.I know this place is a drive, but I feel that it is a best kept secret.  If you can take the drive and are looking to getting some straight answers that are not triple charged to your credit card by people who really know AND care, then this place IS worth your time.Thank you, Williams Vet!  (We had the honor of seeing Dr. Williams, and it was worth every minute!)I hope this finds you and all of your furry friends doing very well!!!Until we meet again! :) Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

I am currently searching for a vet in Austin since we are about to adopt a pet and I haven't lived in San Marcos for awhile.

Read Less

This office has always been affordable and of great quality (a rare find). But in this recent disaster, the flood that ripped apart our home, this clinic really went above and beyond. They responded quickly to our injured horse, who managed to survive the flood. Thank you so much for your help, we were so, so, so worried about our grumpy, beloved Gringa! Your office is one of a kind.

I walked in at 8:30 near tears because the emergency vet told me my dog had a swollen disc in his neck, and tried to get me to fork over $300 for an X-ray!The Dr did all the tests and concluded that it was probably just a pinched nerve, AND that an X-ray wouldn't help AT ALL. I saved $300 thanks to him, and walked out with some muscle relaxers for my poor dog. He was nice and explained everything to me too. I'll definitely be coming back here! Read Less

I have used this vet when only Dr Williams was there. I will say he is #1 in my book's! But now he is never there you must see Dr Sebby, who has diagnosed 2 of my animals wrong. You must get past the office manager who just so happens to be Dr Sebbys wife. The office is completely over booked. Dr Sebby rushes in then rushes out. I will say if you are lucky enough to see Dr. Williams you will be 100 percent happy he is the only Reason I give them 2 stars. Read Less

The ladies at the front are super nice and it has a very homey feeling. When we saw the vet, it took him 5 minutes to tell us what the vet at Banfield couldn't over 6 months: Our dog was already neutered!I can't get out of the one year contract at Banfield, which is 25$ a month, even though I no longer go there. However, I LOVE this new vet so much that I am paying for him too.He is WAY cheaper and only tells you what you NEED. He doesn't try to make money off you...He doesn't NEED it! Read Less
