My dogs (& animals) are my life.I have been to many an Austin vet. I have ultimately paid the price, good and bad, since 2004. Due to my deep skepticism and being overcharged more often than not with most of these "city" vets, I started doing much research.I had given up. I figured that there was just no reasonable vet in Austin from my experiences (keep in mind though that I lost an older cat after a procedure done a few years back and then lost a dog unexpectedly recently, so I am sore at the overall vet scene.) However, I feel like we may have found a winner.I don't know if we will commit to anything but this was a great experience.A wonderful person named Sara and her family had referred me and they have continually taken their pets to this clinic since the mid 1980's. That spoke volumes to me.I began researching. I did not want to get too excited. My beagle has severe Austin allergies. Many of us do. He is only 3 and has developed hot spots, rashes, etc. It was getting unhealthy fast. I changed his diet, used the special shampoos, etc. as told to do by a different vet. Nothing was working. He was shaking and itching all night despite many more changes made to help him as directed from a vet's recommendation. We got to Dr. Williams and Boris got a shot, a spray for his hot spots, and the Dr. told me exactly what to do as a course of action for the next four weeks. He told me, sure, we could do extensive skin tests but even after that and the thousands of dollars it could take over time, there was a 50/50 guarantee that we may not even locate the culprit. He gave me so much information and ideas, etc, that it was a bit over my head with the great and effective info. He told me to write everything down (and it's in my file too) so that way I could be working on how to heal Boris. It has been a week since we have been there and Boris has not stayed up itching once after the shot. He is not 100% back to perfect, but he is 85% better at this time. I still have other options to help him along this recovery. Just seeing him not itch and be so uncomfortable was surreal. We will be returning. We had the office visit, shot, and spray to buy, and it was all under $100. I had called 3 other good Austin vets and had quotes of 3 times that amount and they would have done the same thing as a start and as process of elimination. The price to me was unbelievable considering what I have spent since moving to Austin in 2004.Let me warn you, when you google this place, or look at citysearch, there are negative reviews about the office staff. When I called the first time, I was very rushed but I could tell the office was very busy and when I went there, it was EXTREMELY busy so keep that in mind. The office staff does not mean to come across that way, but when a place is busy that is a GOOD THING.I know this place is a drive, but I feel that it is a best kept secret. If you can take the drive and are looking to getting some straight answers that are not triple charged to your credit card by people who really know AND care, then this place IS worth your time.Thank you, Williams Vet! (We had the honor of seeing Dr. Williams, and it was worth every minute!)I hope this finds you and all of your furry friends doing very well!!!Until we meet again! :) Read Less
