This last weekend my dog's nail tore off, and he wouldn't let me touch it, so I brought him to you guys because I was out of town and you were the closest vet on Google. I called ahead to ask about availability, and the ONE good thing I experienced was you asking me to bring him in immediately, despite your schedule being full for the rest of the day with appointments. I also did not have any shot records on me (again, out of town for the weekend). I brought him to you and was immediately taken to an exam room. And then things went down hill. My dog was immediately taken by someone he didn't know to have his weight and temperature taken; no quick question of if I would prefer to walk him back to the weighing station. Not a huge deal, but my dog generally responds best to having me with him and helping him through things. Then, the vet comes in and looks at his nail, and just immediately turns to me and says that he needs to be sedated and they would trim the rest of the nails. I figured he would need to be sedated, but there was no discussion about what sedation meant, what risks there might be, what was actually going to happen, nothing about the costs being incurred (and I'm obviously a college kid from out of town with very very little comfort in this place already) and that I can come back in a few hours before closing to pick him up. As soon as I confusedly agree to this, my dog is whisked out the back door to be put in a kennel, and I'm pretty much told to leave. I come back a few hours later to pick him up, and my dog comes out very high, almost unable to walk on his own, drooling every where. Yeah, it's sort of a funny vision, but there was nothing said to reassure a very worried owner that he's okay. I ask the receptionist if I can bill the amount I owe since I know I don't have the over $200 (seriously, though, $50 for the vet to walk in and look at this torn off nail and say they have to sedate him??????) in my bank account currently. She flatly says no, doesn't offer any sort of payment options, demands I pay the full amount up front. I'm more than a little upset at this, as every vet or doctor I've been to in the past has offered billing options. But, whatever--I pay, luckily my card goes through, and I walk out the door.I get in the car with my dog and as my friend is driving us away, I look at his nails, and they're all almost completely cut off. There was absolutely zero discretion given for the quicks of his nails; they're all almost GONE. I'm so pissed off at this point because I trusted you to take care of my dog, and I get him back and he's effectively had the tips of his fingers cut off because you were too lazy to take the time to find the quicks and cut to them, not past them. I still (five days later) am furious about this, and my dog is still hurting because you messed up his paws. Read Less
