I wanted to take the time to write a review to say how grateful I am to have Ricki is as one of the technicians at Cypresswood Animal Clinic. He is always so welcoming and takes care of my baby when I bring him in. Also, Emily and Daniella at the front desk are so warm and welcoming every time I come to the Clinic and also are both so professional on the phone whenever I call. Dr. Young has been an incredible Surgeon as well. I don’t know what I would do if I hadn’t had Dr. Young when my Golden Retriever, Buck needed surgery! I’m SO thankful to Dr. Young for saving my boy. Also, getting rid of the one Doctor in the office (who shall remain nameless) was the best thing the clinic could have done. I almost left the Clinic because of this person, but apparently you listened to my feedback and other patient's feedback regarding the Doc. PLEASE READ!!! Brought my dog for a simple routine procedure (spay) and to receive a microchip. Dog was perfectly healthy prior to routine surgery. After the surgery I expected 2-3 days for my dog to recover, my dog had developed multiple symptoms related to the surgery or microchip placement. My dog developed a mass size of a golf ball in the abdomen, dragging paws on one side of the body, poor balance, could not lift head or tail, ruptured blood vessels spots in eyes, loss of appetite, dehydration, loss of 20 lbs, and deteriorating quickly. Followed up with the vet and was not able to identify reasons why my dog was declining in health. Rushed my dog to the hospital and I had nurse my dog back to health. When my dog was stable, I approached the clinic to take accountability and responsibility. Very disappointed on the outcome, this company does not care about animals. I have pictures, videos, and documentation. Poor customers services, unsanitary environment, unprofessional, and has no compassion for animals. Have been using this vet for a couple of years now. I had litter of 3 kittens that my wife took for their shots. Ended up being over a $400. 6 months ago I took a litter of 3 kittens for $175. We ended up with $100 of extra medication this time. $275 and $400 is a big difference. When I called they told me it for for the vet visit and exam for each kitten. Where last time I only paid for 1 exam for all 3 kittens. Good time I didn't have 12 kittens or it would have been a $1600. I have dogs I was bring in later today. But I will find a new vet. I actually found this clinic on Yelp. It had so many good reviews I had to try it for myself. My baby Carter who is 3 years old and she's a mix infested with fleas from our yard. She is very shy but very lovable the staff was so gentle and careful with her it just warms my heart. The way they took care of her made me feel like they would treat my baby just as well as I would. We will be getting another dog soon and cypreswood animal clinic will be there home. There is no other animal clinic in this area that I refer besides this Hospital. Read Less

Good prices but the staff members were a bit rude. Extra pain medicine is not included but they make you feel bad if you ask how much. SMH. When my brother went to pick up his cat after having it neutered, the carrier was full of pee. The staff member who was handing the cat off tried to play dum at first. Nothing was done to help the poor kitty except ONE sheet of newspaper in the carrier. That's ridiculous. You should not allow an animal to just sit in their own filth. Especially if they just had surgery and have a would that could get soaked in urine. Completely unacceptable. Y'all need to step your game up. Read Less

Took my dogs here for their shots and everyone was so gentle and understanding especially with my older dog who has anxiety. They called the day after to make sure the dogs were ok from the shots too. A week later I took my male dog in for neutering and it was the same gentle treatment. Switched Veterinarian clinics because too many issues with current clinic. I just needed a place to keep accurate records, but what I received from switching to Cypresswood Animal Clinic was that and 100 times more. Caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, personable, honest, on-time, amazingly reasonable, follow-thru, excellent following up...I could go on and on. One quick example. My dog needed surgery. She had a hernia since we rescued her 7 yrs prior and we knew we had to constantly keep an eye on it. It was examined and checked yearly with her physical. We noticed it changing, took her in and we all decided surgery was the best option for Daisy. My husband and I discussed the amount we could spend prior to going since we wanted to pay in full. Daisy is an older, but still beautiful and young at heart, dog so labs prior to surgery were required. We also decided to get her spayed during the surgery since she wasn't already. Vet went out to get estimate and came back with a price so Amazingly and Completely UNDER what we thought that I signed her up for surgery immediately! Never had an issue with price changing, "oh we forgot this...or we had to add this" NO issues at all. They did a post-op follow up call on Day 1, Day 3, 1 week and 2 weeks I know for sure and forgot to state, but the Vet called me personally to tell me the results of Daisy's lab work before her surgery. I took my puppy here for shots and a fecal exam. The staff was pleasant and the wait time was quick with an appointment. (appointments only). They said he was clean, although his stomach was abnormally round.  They did not offer to do any blood work.  I immediately put him on heartworm + parasite medication, so I know my puppy didn't acquire it after the initial exam.A week later, my puppy was throwing up quite often, and I took him to another vet immediately.  They diagnosed him with 2 different types of parasites and Hookworm.  How do you miss Hookworms?!?!  It's relatively not expensive, but you get what you pay for :( Read Less

The best of the best! My boy Dennis is a Rottweiler mix. We rescued him and love him to death. When we visited Cypresswood Animal Clinic, we found he had heartworms. The doctor and staff took my frightened shelter rescue and loved him through the awful needle injections. He endured the injections and has grown to love the staff. He fusses to stay after his appointments and fusses to stop and visit if we drive by the clinic. Cypresswood Animal Clinic not only saved Dennis's life, but they loved him through a tough time. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable, we have never had a bad visit! My questions are always answered thoroughly and I never feel like I am being rushed out the door. I took my dog here on MLK 2017 day for what I thought might be neck pain so they listened to his heart and lungs and said it all sounded fine. The vet then did some mobility exercises and determined he might have a pinched nerve so I was give an anti-inflammatory. I had notified her of the bad breath and excess panting, but didn't seem to hear me. I had visited this vet in the summer of 2016 for yearly examine and the vet tech squirted alcohol everywhere attempting to draw blood which they were never successful. So while at this visit I asked (on MLK day) should they take blood since they didn't over the summer and since they thought he had a neck issue didn't want to. If they had I might have been able to prevent the passing of my dog a week later, but I will never know what the true cause of why he died. This little vet clinic had been so good to my fur babies. With 2 cats and 1 dog Dr. Hillard has been extremely helpful with everything from recomenations on training my high energy puppy to helping my Siamese live the last month's of his life comfortably. Just moved to area.  Went to another "fancy" vet in the recommendations of several neighbors. My dog had been lethargic and bleeding some daily.  They kept trying to push a senior blood work exam for $180.  And even said that her ears were just fine (no infection).  This comes after the $60 office visit.Today, my dog's conditions worsened. After being told I'd have to pay another office visit at the "fancy" vet, we decided to try Cypresswood.  Found out my dog has a UTI, an ear infection (which I suspected just by my own experience from my 10y.o. dog), and kidney stones.  That explains everything!  The office visit and urinalysis only cost $100 total.  Much better value. Got my babygirl fixed at this clinic and 3 weeks later her incision is still wide open and bursting with liquids!!! They checked her out after surgery and told me it would get better. I didn't let her run around or anything that would affect her surgery but it still will not close. Looks like they missed some stitches and tried to get the work done asap.. Sad part is i dropped her off before work and came to pick her up to a messed up open incision! Super cheap place but HORRIBLE service & work!! Secretary yells while doing private calls to friends and did not care about my baby like I do. SERVICE IS AS CRAPPY AS THE LOW PRICE!!! Dont fall for it, your dog will not appreciate it. Read Less

In short, Cypresswood Animal Clinic killed our kitten. Through a combination of cost savings and incompetent procedures what started as a routine neutering turned in to $~1800 worth of completely avoidable but ultimately futile treatment. Their failures were many but I will keep this brief. To save them money on medication our kitten was administered an overdose of a drug (Oral Meloxicam) very specifically meant for dogs only. The drug destroyed his kidneys and burned through his gastrointestinal tract as he suffered dehydrated and in pain. When confronted with the costs incurred they refused to pay on the grounds that their business makes less than $~1800/day, as if that makes it OK shuck responsibility. I was extremely worried about sending our girl Vida to get fixed due to a freak accident at a previous vet, they were sweet enough to email me to let me know she made it through her spay surgery , they are cut and dry and do not try to over sell you. The last update for this facility. I am very impressed with how they have responded to everything that has taken place. They have been kept in the loop about our kittens care through the vet and hospital stay and have helped out tremendously. I would recommend that if you need something done to bring your animal here. they will go the distance to make everything right. It was possible a bad drug reaction or could have been just my cat reaction to meds. but they stepped up regardless. I want to thank AMANDA and her lab manager especially for their concern and help. and i would now , knowing what i do about this facility, recommend it unbiasedly to everyone. I am updating my review. When i got ahold of this vet about my female cat. They were very concerned and helped with the extended cost of my kittens care even through another vet. They had offered to check her out at no charge. I already had her at another vet so they helped with the bill. Thank you for that. That was stepping up to help. I would ask them though to relook at their policy to make sure all animals are awake before being released, or to offer overnight monitoring on all animals that are having a difficult time. Took a male and female cat in to be spayed and neutered, close to home and reasonable price, picked them up and they were both completely out of it, now this is the first time i have ever received cats back like this. always they make sure the cat is awake and has used the litter box. not so here, we also paid for extra pain meds and they told us they gave a shot that will last 3 days, again something new to me. long story short my female is at another animal hospital with seizures, when cypress wood vet was called they acted like it was no big deal. while i can't say that my cats had been over mediated, i can state that the care they received was substandard, they never made sure the cats were ok before being released and then they had a oh well so what attitude when the other vet called to find out info. I would suggest not t to use this place to have your animals spayed and or neutered find somewhere else that at least shows some compassion for your animals. Read Less

Overall good experience. The woman working the front desk leaves much to be desired but she did squeeze me in when I did not have an appointment which was much appreciated. Overall vibe is they treat the animals wonderfully and the people alright. I don't know the vet's name who helped my dog but she was friendly and worked with my budget to get me the best care for what I was able to afford. $120 for the exam, fluids, and two types of medication. This vet has saved my dog Lissa twice! The first time we ever went there, she had popped a stitch from her spay surgery and they took her in immediately. Yesterday she started bleeding from both ends and I was (understandably) freaked out. They got her right in this morning and after blood work, diagnosed her with HGE. She's currently staying there for 2 days for treatment. Their immediate care in both instances was beyond my expectations. They were caring and thorough. Also nice is that they are open later than most vet offices and their pricing is AWESOME! I expected an outrageous bill for 2 nights of hospital stay, but it was more than reasonable. I will continue to use this vet for all of our needs (as we recently adopted another dog) and would easily recommend them to everyone! Read Less

My friend couldn't get out of work. And her cat was in so much pain. So she asked me if I would be able to help her out. Appointment was set at 3pm. Saw the doctor. Got the diagnosis. Left 30 minutes after. Dr. Karla Hillard was nice and friendly. But I was disappointed the doctor was guessing. "I'm guessing..." No x-ray. Since it was a broken bone. Not very reassuring. They charged $40 for a brief exam. The cat didn't have insurance. So I think the prices are reasonable compared to other places. I told my friend to get a second opinion. Read Less

A lot of people think this vet is great and reasonably priced so that's why I went there. I wasn't crazy about the vet or the girl at the front desk. It seemed as if they just rushed us through. The vet didn't take the time to talk to me and treated me like I know nothing about my dogs. I was charged over $120 for 2 flea treatments and 2 heartworm treatments. I'm sorry but that is way overpriced for 1 month of treatments for two very small dogs!  I'm shopping for another vet and will not return to this one. Read Less

These are the nicest ladies around, they truly love pets and helped me when my pup got a very bad spider bite on his side. They got me in and out in no time. I wish I would have found this place sooner. My teenage daughter was looking for a low cost place to have her 2 cats she adopted spayed and neutered. (she was paying for it with her own money so she was trying to find the cheapest place she could) I was expecting a hole in the wall that treated us like crap with the whole "we are doing this cheap so shut up and don't ask questions" attitude. Boy was I wrong. They are amazing! The place is very clean and the staff goes out of their way to help in any way they can. They were wonderful! They treat your animals like their own children. You can tell they truly care about your pets. They kept me up to date on everything and even after our animals were at home, they called several times to call and check on them and asked if we needed anything. I've been coming here for years. When Dr Thomas was the vet.(Great lady) She's retired now. So now I'm not so sure. They have cleaned the place up & it looks & smells great, BUT the time you have to wait is ridiculous and I had an appt. All the people that was there waiting, also said the say thing. The vet that I saw was ok. He did not give a whole lot of info as to what was wrong with my dog tho. The receptionist does not pay attn very well. She ran my credit card for someone else bill & that was not the 1st time that has happened. She has done it in the past.I will say that the vet cost is still cheaper than other's around the area. I use to love this place but I think I am going to find some where else to take my pets.So that I can get the care they need instead of a IDK answer. Read Less

Even though Susan has retired so far the other Vets I have seen have been pretty good. I had been coming to Susan for my dogs since around 1999. She was and is a remarkable Vet. She really beat the bushes to keep my German Shepherds alive without undue costs of being a dog owner. I really miss seeing her as she would call my dog in when it was her turn. Now they have gotten more updated and have rotating Vets but they are all very experienced. I will always take my dogs to this Vet place. Read Less

I have taken my pet to Dr. Thomas office on several occasions and this past Friday was the worst. My spouse had to take our pet for his annual visit. Upon their arrival my spouse was told Dr. Thomas was still at Sam's Club and was running behind, well needless to say she was an hour and a half behind and there were patients waiting for her. My spouse left and came back an hour and a half later to be seen by Dr. Thomas. Dr. Thomas did not apologize herself, her receptionist did but when the assistant came in to handle our pet, who by the way was very very nervous, she just grabbed the pet from my spouse and they began to issue the shots. Needless to say this has ruined our perception of the office. We will not be using this clinic again. This leads to another dilemma being they did not keep proper records of our pet so we will piece together all of the receipts we have maintained on our own. Read Less
