My wife JUST took our 2 dogs here as we just moved to this part of town, and this vet is literally minutes from our home. However, we will NOT come back. We just paid $142 for a 2 minute appointment total for both dogs with the vet here, and 2 doses of heart worm/flea meds. She listened to their heart, partial lifted one side of their mouth to check teeth, and then she was on her computer... told me nothing about the health of my fur babies. Didn't even put us in an exam room.. we waited outside the exam room in chairs as my dogs are going crazy over the cats roaming around. After she was on her computer, she ran off to be with another patient... seriously THE worst service I have ever encountered. The front desk person could use some better customer service, and explain what she is talking about. Waste of money. I could have paid for meds online and got better service and not wasted $90 of that $142. We will be checking out MY FAMILY VET next!! Read Less

Unfortunately there is not an option for zero stars because that is what this place deserves. To start off with the first impressions of this place (which I happened to see another review about how disgusting it was but chose to ignore it). It was no more than a shack that looked awful as though it may fall apart with a stiff gust of wind. However the worst part was the AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. The lady at the front desk was incredibly rude and could not seem to remember our phone conversation saying that my pets shot records were okay to use, then shoved them back at me when she said they would not take them. As I declined their service and left, apparently I did not close their door all the way on my way out so the lady decided to come all the way outside just to yell at me while I was leaving. I can't believe this place is even running. When I came in for my appointment I walked by 2 people on the front porch smoking cigarettes talking to each other, didn't even welcome me. When I walked in, there was no receptionist. Turns out she was on the porch smoking and wasn't very friendly either. There's mold all over the building and it's falling apart. Literally saw a roach while I was in the room waiting for the doctor and the doctor was very rude to me. Made it seem like I was in her way and was bothering her with my questions. We've used this vet since the 80s. Dr. Rowe is an awesome vet and she always has young vet techs who love the animals. The building is in shambles but her prices are much lower than the vets in the area. I wouldn't change vet's unless she retires. Read Less

Dr. Rowe and her staff are all about your pets. She has been treating my pets since we moved here in 2004. There are times when you may have to wait a bit but I don't mind because she has always taken excellent care of  my furry family members. Read Less

I'm sure this vet is very qualified and capable. However, she is cranky and gripes at her employees in front of customers. She doesn't explain anything and doesn't seem really care about her customers. I don't mind the run down feel of the building...it's the interpersonal skills that are lacking. We got a new puppy in November and have been taking her here ever since. We are very pleased with the speed and price of the services we have received. When our puppy needed booster shots or simple check-ups, we were in and out of there in less than 10 minutes and for less than $60. The vacinnes are exceptionally cheap and everybody that works there is super friendly. We had an minor emergency on a Sunday when they were closed, so we were forced to take her to an Animal Hospital. They made us wait 45 minutes (we were the only people there) and then charged us over $100 just to look in our dog's eye. It was a miserable experience that only made Gosling Road look more like heaven. We will never go anywhere else. Read Less

The veterinarian is very nice and great to work with. The people who work the front desk are not very helpful or personable. I felt like they overcharged for a lot of services and were quick to quote policies instead if really listening to the needs of the pet owner and trying to be helpful. We will find another vet that fits our needs better. Read Less

They were great. We brought in a dog we found last night to check if the dog had microchip. The receptionist was very courteous and friendly. Then an assistant came with 2 types of microchip reader, didn't find any microchip. The vet then came by, checked the little mutt's teeth and gave us some advice. We were even told to get  rabies shot for the mutt tomorrow nearby HEB as they are giving discounted vaccines. Definitely friendly neighborhood vet. Thumbs up. Read Less

Our beloved dog of 14 years passed away on 23 Feb 12. When my wife and son took our Cerb to Dr. Rowe's and made the decision that he needed to pass on, Dr. Rowe and her staff showed the utmost kindness and empathy. The staff moved a party for one of the staff members so that my family would have a peaceful area for us to say our goodbyes. It took me an hour to arrive from work including getting my daughter from school. That whole time, Dr. Rowe and her staff, especially Ms. Sue did nothing but show my wife and son kindness and understanding. When I arrived with my daughter, more time was given to us to say our goodbyes. It wasn't until I requested it, that Dr. Rowe and Ms. Sue came and administered the medications that took our Cerb away. Afterwards, Ms. Sue called Fond Memories to take our Cerb away to be cremated. No matter what people may think of the outside of the Gosling Road Veterinary Clinic, it's the inside that matters. Dr. Rowe and her staff were wonderful. Period. My family will never forget the kindness shown to us and the dignity they allowed our beloved Cerb to have before he went to God. Thank you Dr. Rowe, Ms. Sue, and the Gosling Road Veterinary Staff. Dr. Rowe and her staff are fantastic and the most reasonably priced vet in this area. Years ago we had a rescued kitty that had multiple health issues including ever increasing seizures. Dr. Rowe was able to medicate "Scary Cat"; my little kids named her that because she was pretty scary when having seizures. The cat needed frequent meds and became too much for us to handle so I decided the cat needed to be put down. To my surprise Dr. Rowe offered to adopt the kitty and keep her medicated at her own cost. The reason her building is small and maybe a little "stinky" is that she does not charge enough for her services and probably puts alot of her revenues into care of the many animals she rescues like our cat. As far as the OUTRAGED girl from Northampton...How dare Dr. Rowe time her vacation to coincide with your dogs death and how dare her staff take the time to decorate your dogs footprint. Get over yourself and thank her for the 14 years of service which appeared worth your 60 mile round-trip. I have always found that when people say its not about the money...its about the money. I grew up in Northampton, the neighborhood that feeds most of this Vet's business and watched my parents take all of our animals there as a child. And for the last 14 years, as a young adult, I have continued to use this Vet, even driving over 60 miles roundtrip!I have to be honest with you and let you know that I agree with most of the positive comments posted, as I have had a good experience with them...atleast until now. My dog was quickly progressing downhill and I made an appointment to meet with Dr. Rowe to discuss the options and a timeline. It wasn't until I was take into the exam room that I was told that Dr. Rowe was out on vacation and a ""fill in"" vet has hired for this week. I was outraged that I had made the appointment in ADVANCE and told the office manager the reason for my appt and yet no one even considered to call and notify me that the vet who had been treating my dog for the last 14 years would not be seeing us today to dicuss her death. Two days later my dog was becoming non-responsive and I knew her time was coming to an end, so I scheduled at 10:30am appt to have her put down. Tragically, she died that morning around 8am. I made arrangements with them to have her creamated and also have a paw print made in cement as a keepsake. I picked up her pawprint today and was OUTRAGED to see that they had taken it upon themselves to ""decorate"" it with glitter, stickers, and rinestones. I was NEVER consulted with anyone about this. When I called to voice my complaint and to suggest that they atleast ask their customers if they would like their pawprint decorated, I was told that no one had ever complained before and I was being unreasonable for my unhappiness. When I stated that I would prefer to talk directly to Dr. Rowe about this, she got on the phone with me and said that under no circumstances would she be refunding my money (I NEVER ASKED HER TO DO THIS) and that maybe I should use another vet in the future, as it was her understanding that I was being unreasonable. When I asked her what was unreasonable...she said that since my appt was at 10:30am, I should have waited until then to bring my DEAD dog in...rather than coming in at 8:15am when she died. I am simply OUTRAGED at Dr. Rowe and her staff's lack of compassion and RESPECT for their dedicated customents and patients. Read Less
