Just brought our dog in today for some GI symptoms that couldn't wait until tomorrow. We aren't regular clients of this office but the staff was happy to accommodate us. We saw Dr. Olsen and she was polite, professional and fixed up our little dog in no time. We appreciate having a Sunday option outside of a veterinary ER which can be expensive. We searched everywhere for a vet to take our pups to. We read the reviews for Champions animal hospital. Even though it was a bit of a drive being that we live in Magnolia, I am so glad we took the chance on this place. They are very welcoming and nice. The whole staff is awesome, helpful and kind. They all work on gaining the trust of your pet on their own. Any questions that you have they have an answer for. Dr. Blessinger was wonderful. She sat down on the floor with the pups trying to gain their trust all while answering my five million questions. They also worked my other dog in for an appointment at the end of the day since we had him there already, instead of making us schedule a different day and come back. She also stayed past closing time to continue with us until we were finished and did not rush us at all. Thank you so much for everything. My 12 week old puppy, Stella, had suture reaction following being spayed (she was spayed by the shelter we rescued her from NOT by this animal hospital) I was able to get Stella in that same day to be seen by the amazing Dr. Blessingner. She spent amble amount of time with her and answering all my dog-mom questions. Stella was treated and we were sent along our way. I just took her into today to get her 3rd round of shots and the vet techs there are so sweet and Stella is in heaven with all the love and treats she is showered in! I totally recommend this place for your fur babies care. Dr. Blessingner is an amazing doc and you can tell she is truly passionate about what she does as well as, the vet techs there. Excellent experience. My little pug became sick in the middle of the night so I just walked in on Saturday morning with no appointment. I was in and out in 35 minutes. We adopted a little puppy and took her in for her first visit. I instantly loved the vet, Melissa and my little darling did too. However the front desk staff wasn't very friendly. We had all the paper work from worm testing done two days before we took our puppy in for her initial vet visit. No biggie, everything was negative. Then over the weekend I saw a tapeworm on her feces. Called the vet as instructed on our first visit and the front desk staff had me bring in a fecal sample. Mind you tapeworm sometimes gives a false negative on poop samples, however I pointed out the worm to the front desk girl. They charged me to send the sample to the lab and then told me that they'd let me know Sunday or Monday via phone call. I didn't hear from them, and doubt that I would've bc the test came back negative. What really ticked me off was that whoever I talked to on the phone was short and rude, and basically insinuated that I had to bring in my puppy for yet another check up in order to get medicine for tapeworms. I shut that down immediately, she then offered to have the vet write a prescription for the tapeworm killer. At this point I'm so disgusted and disappointed by the way I was treated over the phone, that I'm just turned off by this establishment. Brought my dog Lily in for a checkup and get updated on her shots on 05/15/16. The vet tech Heather and Dr. Olsen were absolutely amazing! They were understanding about Lily being aggressive when we were in the room (she doesn't like strangers around us) so they took her in the back and she instantly made friends. They were so sweet. I was referred to this practice after seeking a vet to perform orthopedic surgery on our 11 month old chihuahua. We thought our options were very limited as almost every vet we called and/or visited (approx. 8) referred us to a well known facility whom we did not feel comfortable. Frustrated with our options and spending a small fortune in new client vet visits, I gave up looking and made the appointment with the well-known practice. A blessing in disguise, that evening our pet's splint came off and It was a late night trip to the emergency vet that I met a kind employee who suggested this animal hospital. I made the appointment and long story short, we had the surgery performed here. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. And I can tell they truly love what they do. I was very nervous about our puppy having surgery and I must have called at least 6 times. Each time, the staff was very friendly and patient and I was transferred directly to Dr. Blessinger. The prices are very affordable and the service is extraordinary. If you are looking for a vet who is knowledgeable, personable, professional and affordable, then your search is over. I take both my dog and rabbit here. I'm glad I have found a place that can take care of both. My dog had to have surgery for tumor removal and a dental with teeth pulled and she did great. They also put us on a good maintenance program for her frequent ear infections. The boarding area is also nice and the kennel staff were very caring. Read Less

Great vets here. They are not pushy with their services and tend to focus on the practical issues without pushing the most expensive services. For me, that represents a veterinarian who cares about taking care of the animal instead of the pocketbook. Very interested in doing the max so they can charge the max. However, missed important indicators on my dog for having bladder cancer. By the time I switched Vets the cancer had taken over and the Piroxicam prescribed was unable to assist. Extremely rude owner. Also don't disagree with them on what you want to do about your pets care because it presents for WWIII. Spent thousands of dollars with this Vet only to be treated as if I would not pay my bills. Always wants a deposit for work to be done - even tho' I WAS a longtime clients. I now use Glenwood Falls Animal Hospital who is AAHA accredited. They are fantastic and don't nickel and dime me to death. Also they do not charge for the first visit if you have a rescue dog. This is truly a BUSINESS working under the guise of people who care about your pets. From my perspective they care about running up your bill and then not being thorough. Read Less

It is hard to find a great Veterinarian & Groomer. Well, Riley & Bella have the best! Dr. Kelly has been with them for a long time and we love her. Dr. Blessinger is awesome too. So between the two, we have two trustworthy, honest and they communicate so well with me about my two. Also, my mom uses Animal Hospital. Alley, her cat has cancer & if she needed surgery, she is just amazing! Took two tumors off of my girl and one was so close to her bottom of her eye lid & to make sure she got all of the tissue, we prepared for a slight disfigurement. Unless, you knew she had surgery... You would NOT even know. Her eye came out with no issues with the bottom lid. In general, all of the people are nice and the best thing is the HONESTY. They are not money pushers, they are true Animal Dr.s I have referred several people there for second opinions.Read Less

When my 14-year-old dog's health was failing, and I ultimately had to have him put to sleep on Friday, I brought him here, because I knew one of the doctors (Dr. Blessington) from church, and I liked that she often had prayer requests for her patients and their people. That little thing said a lot to me about how much they care for the dogs they see. We were new to the neighborhood, but I just knew somehow that bringing him here was the right choice. Before we saw her, everyone with whom we had any contact (from the receptionist on...) was so compassionate, affected by the sadness of that event, and visibly tearful (as I was) without slipping at all in their professionalism. I am bringing my other dog in for grooming this week. After how beautifully they handled that horrible day last week, I can't imagine going anywhere else. It was a real blessing at a difficult time, and I am sure that they are even better when there is a brighter outcome. Read Less

Great vets and the techs are usually top notch. Probably a little more expensive than average, but they have above average facilities and hours. I took a star off because twice I have called for grooming appointments on the Louetta location and because their phone system will auto connect to the other location, my appointment wasn't booked correctly, it showed at the Jones Rd. location. Make sure you get the appointment in the location you need. I have resorted to asking directly to confirm that the appointment is the location I need both when I start the call and just before I hang up. Read Less

I've taken my pets here for 5 years now and at first they did a great job and I was impressed with their service but the last few years have completely gone down hill. Both the champion and jones locations have lost a loyal customer because of their poor attitude and lack of attention, not to mention charging high prices for less than stellar service. I vowed over a year ago that I would never go back to the champion location because numerous times I would arrive for my appointment and then sit there for over 30 minutes, even if I was just dropping off. Isn't that the point of a drop off? To not have to sit there so long? The breaking point for me was the last visit, which they asked me to wait in the lobby and then 41 minutes later when I walked up to the counter and no one was there, I proceeded to load up all 3 dogs and go home. They never knew I was gone. Two weeks later they called to ask me if I wanted to set up an appt because their records showed showed my pet needed his medication. They thought I had skipped the appt two weeks before. The phone call from there was not pleasant. From then on I decided to go to the jones location. While their staff is MUCH more pleasant than the champions staff, the service is still pretty "meh". You have to wait and wait and wait and then wait a little more before they hit you with a whopper of a bill. They called to tell me my dog needed surgery and when I told the doctor I was not in a position to spend money right now she tried to strong arm me into doing it anyways. She finally says she'll put an estimate together for me so I can see if its something that maybe I could do in a few weeks. I go to pick up my dog, no doctor, no estimate. Just a huge bill and a long wait to just to get my dog to go home! BOTTOM LINE, they charge a premium price for a NON-premium experience. If you've got all the time and money in the world and enjoy poor service, this is your place! Read Less

We have a golden retriever, and he was having problems with his ear. He would constantly scratch and shake his head like dogs do when they're wet. We took him in and it was after 7pm. Dr. Olsen checked him out and found an ear infection deep in his left ear. She explained what we needed to do and was very nice. She made sure we had everything we needed and that all of our questions were answered. Our dog began experiencing some seizures this morning. We called 5 different Banfield Pet Hospitals, as he is on their plan, but none of them could service him. This caused me to check out local animal hospitals and I found AHCN. First, they are an American Animal Hospital Association accredited hospital which speaks volumes in their hygiene, procedures, customer care etc. Then, when we met the doctor, Dr. Olsen, she was extremely patient and answered every question (I had tons) clearly and in terms that we could understand - No doctor mumbo jumbo here-. We went in anxious to find out what was wrong with our dog and left with the knowledge of what to do and how to handle the situation. Many thanks to Dr. Olsen and the reception crew that took care of us and our Maxwell :D We will be considering this vet as his primary vet from now on.
