My golden was having diarrhea for 4 months... we have visited a high cost clinic previously they were nice but not elaborate with the results and elaborate on what as a pet parent we should so to stop this. We brought my Mom's cat Cinnamon here because her right side of her face was so swollen from an injury she got a week prior. I could not wait any longer she had to go or she would of died. I called first thing in the morning to make an appointment. The lady who attended my call was very helpful and they made room for her to come in right away. We were literally around the corner from this place. When we arrived we were greeted and they gave us some paperwork to fillout. The wait was not long. Before the Doctor Blackert came in the nurse technician weighed her asked what happened and handled her very professionally. When Dr. Blackert came in after observing her injury and the swollen area he immediately detected that she had a huge absess on her neck. I felt so bad for her. As soon as he told us about the absses and that it can burst at any moment sure enough it bursted. They cleaned her up, took some blood, injected her with some antibiotics, and informed us what we have to do for a week for her to recover fast. Her blood work came out fine. I was impressed that they give you the results right there. I wish I can get my results that fast haha. They gave us the medicine we needed along with the instructions for us to do for a week and scheduled another appointment for a follow up. Over all the amount of the whole visit was not that bad for what all they did to her I thought it was going to be expensive, but it was affordable.I felt like the Doctor was very attentive, very caring, and very knowledgeable. I learned a lot from him. My moms cat has fully recovered and she is doing well. Just thought you should know he also sees horses if anyone was wondering. By the office are some stables where he keeps the horses. I thought that was pretty cool. Any way I give this place two thumbs up. Keep it up. Read Less

Best place to come! Both for regular check ups, and the unexpected! They take the best care of your pet, friend, family member! I always, always, always recommend them over anywhere else I've been! They are the best team you can find! I bring all 4 of my dogs, my 2 cats, and they make farm calls out to my ponies. I've never once had to worry if doc would be able to make it out, I've never once had to call an "on call vet" who would eventually show up, no, doc is not only the best around but he has always been there for my animals and he's done it in a timely manner. The Vet, Dr. Blackert, is about as straight up and honest and I've been able to find in the entire west side of Houston/Katy/Sugar Land/Richmond area. He's been taking care of my dogs for several years now, and has a great ability to work with us towards a common goal. This is opposed to other vets that make me feel like I can either spend $1000 every time I ask them for advice or help, or I'm a terrible person. I would recommend him to all my friends and family. Dr. Blackert is about as honest of a vet as I can find in the Richmond/Sugar Land/West Houston/Katy area.  I drive down from Katy to see him - he seems to have an ability to work with me towards a common goal instead of giving me a guilt trip because I have my own thoughts and opinions.  He has taken great care of my dogs for several years now, I would steer anyone I can to him.  Trust me, I am always curious about trying new things - after several of the vets in the area, I keep coming back to him; and have stopped even trying to find someone closer to me.  He has earned my trust and my respect, not things I easily give out.
