I had to take my animal to the vet and was pleased this place was open on a Sunday from 12-4. This was my first time using them and was pleased with the staff, cleanliness and care. The vet tech was nice, listened to my concerns and relayed them to Dr. Paola who was very pleasant to speak with and gental with my dog who was terrified. My only complaint would be not consulting me with price or authorization before giving my dog a shot of Benadryl for $49.69. Other than that it was a fairly quick trip in and out. Brought my 3 month old kitten here, with no money and only the free first visit coupon, after he had been sick for a few days. They were very understanding and I was worried they would turn me away but they didn't. He got his free exam, a very low cost (4$) prescription of antibiotic, a free sample of revolution and then I was given a treatment plan for him. The price was the only downside of this place, I'm sure they do great work for animals but after calling around for the same services and tests they wanted to do on my kitten, (550$-650$ total estimate), I not only found one but two vets that could do the same treatment plan for a fraction of the cost (200$-300$). I do appreciate all they did for my fur baby and other animals in their care, they are very passionate about their work, however if money is tight I would recommend seeking services elsewhere. Walked in , loved the energy in this place, was taken straight back , did wait for awhile but then again we did get there 30mins early so it did not bother us. Loved our vet and the office staff very friendly and you can tell they truly have love for animals! Overall very very happy with the care we received. Will recommend to all friends and family. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and outraged with this place! Do yourself a favor and find another vet now!!! They did not go above and beyond to find the cause of what was going on with my cat. They were so sure she had a rodent ulcer. I had taken my cat in to see the vet 4 different times over a 2 month period or so and was told "well try and switch her food maybe she has an allergic reaction to it" because what they thought was a rodent ulcer was not going away, in fact it got bigger, even after steroid shots and antibiotic shots. That should have been obvious to the Vet that clearly it was something else!!!! But NO!!! I was not going back there so I found a different vet and last night we found out it was cancer. I am beyond upset with the whole situation! I am heart broken!!! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THE VCA ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!!! Read Less

Took my cat there in January and they said it was a rodent ulser. I've spent $2000 on test and care and nothing changed. Went today and got a 2nd opinion. My cat has cancer and were devastated. Cannot believe they never even considered this. Never will set foot in the place again. Read Less

OK, SO I'M JUST GOING TO START BY SAYING I DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO RATE THIS PLACE AS ONE STAR. I TOOK MY DOG IN JUST LAST WEEK FOR A MOUTH EXAM BECAUSE SHE HAS A BIT OF TARTAR BUILDUP AND I WAS GOING TO GO AHEAD AND HAVE THEM CLEANED. SO, AFTER THE EXAM I RECEIVED A VERY EXPENSIVE QUOTE AND ALSO LEARNED THAT SHE WOULD NEED LAB WORK DONE TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OK BEFORE SHE WOULD BE PUT UNDER ANESTHESIA. OK COOL. THEN TWO DAYS LATER I GET A CALL SAYING MY DOG HAS HEART WORMS!!!! I FREAK OUT, CRY, AND START WEIGHING MY OPTIONS KNOWING IT WOULD BE EXPENSIVE. I TELL MY MOM THE NEWS AND SHE SAID SHE HAD TAKEN A PREVIOUS DOG OF OUR'S THERE AND THEY TOLD HER THE SAME THING THEN SHE RETESTED THE DOG AT ANOTHER VET AND CAME BACK NEGATIVE! SHE SAID " I DON'T TRUST THEM AT ALL! I WOULD HAVE A SECOND OPINION IF I WERE YOU! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!" I TOOK MY MOMS ADVICE AND COME TO FIND OUT SHE WAS RIGHT! We were going to board our two dogs there during the fourth of July weekend. They informed us our dogs needed the flu shot in order to be boarded. After taking one of our dogs in for him to get his annual checkup/shots, we also told him we needed to get the flu shot for the boys as well. He informed us that in order for it t to take effect they would need a shot not only now but in 3 weeks as well, that enough of it wouldn't be in their system for it to be effective. He also stated that he doesn't offer it and refuses to offer it because he feels as if it's a scam. We called the VCA to tell them what our vet had said. Eventually a technician named Janet got on the phone and basically said the same thing about after the second shot it would be effective for a year. I stated if that's the case why do we need the flu shot now if it's not fully in their system . She said it's just required and that would be a question the doctor would have to answer. I told her to cancel our reservation. I don't know if this is a good veterinarian or not but I do feel it's unethical to require something that won't even take effect while your pet is there. It is usually a good place to go but they are kind of expensive. Maybe they care more about the money. I had to have a pet put to sleep here. They were nice about it. I even received a sympathy card a week or two later signed by several staff members. I thought that was nice. But it is still just "OK" not excellent. I have no real complaint. Read Less

From the friendly front desk staff to the technicians and vets, VCA is a really nice place to take your pets. Appointments are easy to book and I've never waited longer than 10 minutes to be seen. The waiting room and exam rooms are always clean. The vets who have examined my dog are caring and good at communicating their recommendations for his care. Everyone from the receptionist to the vet was caring, compassionate, and very patient while we had to make the hardest decision we've ever had to make. We drove a long way to get there, and they were unfortunately not able to save our beloved puppy, but they supported us, stood by us while we came to a decision, and waited for the rest of the family to come and have a chance to say goodbye before putting her down in the most humane way possible.
