They sincerely love their patients and it shows. every single one of them that actually work with and take care of our fur babies ALWAYS HAS A SMILE for all of us!! What I see and feel (and really believe) in those smiling faces is several things.... like true happiness- they seem to really love their jobs and are happy to be there at work seeing everyone that comes in. Also that smile tells me as an extremely nervous, anxious mommy(stress is my drug and worrying is my hobby) their faces always let me know it’s all going to be ok and I can just sorta breathe deep and relax for a few minutes because they got it for me and they know what they are doing so well it’s just so natural to the girls I consider what they do and how they do it a beautiful and priceless art form. I could go on and on singing their praises but I’ve probably went on too long already about the ‘bedside manners’ of all the hands on techs so I will close with a statement of the level and quality of care/ medical attention etc (what the behind the scenes guys do like the DOCTOR doing all the spays/neuters) Quality is care is A+.... We had our female spayed today and the cost were laid out in the email. We gathered the money, got the dog fixed and threw an extra ten dollars on the bill claiming the dog was in heat. We knew this was a lie because the female is surrounded by male dogs..none of those male dogs were chasing her or showing any signs they were interested in her. Claiming the dogs in heat is something we on the outside of the operating room can prove. And it's something that can't be proven beyond doubts. They can throw that claim of.a female being in heat on any dog and gain an extra 10.00 dollars on the bill. So our 75.00 bill resulted in an 85.00 bill. They should tell you the dog is in heat before they ever touch it... They wanted until everything was done and then when it was time to pay up they hit you with, " oh the dogs in heat, that's an extra 10.00 on the bill.... That's pretty crooked.. Read Less

Awful experience! I bathed my dog knowing after the neuter that he would have stitches and not able to be washed for a couple of days, when i returned to pick him up from being neutered he was covered in crusty dried liquids on his neck, the top of his head, and all over his back! he smelled like piss. I know for a fact my dog cant piss on top of his head and on top of his back! When i said something to the tech that brought him out to me she responded "well I don't know what happened but there isn't anything we can do about it!" Do you not take these dogs out to use the restroom? Do you just let them piss in there cages and run down all over other peoples dogs? Not to mention all over my dog who had just had surgery and has an open wound? My dogs incision of course got infected and I had to take him to a different vet clinic to have them treat it! I will NEVER come back to this clinic that claims they "care" so much about these pets by giving the treatment they need. I didn't need this clinic I just thought id give this clinic I hear so much about a chance and paid money all just to turn around and pay more! Now lets talk about the staff.... they are kinda nice but have the I do not want to be here attitude, the tech who came out with my dog was so uneducated and unhelpful... This is the best and most cost efficient “vet” place to go around the area. I say “vet” because only do and specialize with shots, vaccines, and spay/neuter. I just got the puppy package for my new little one and it’s the best deal ever!! Everyone is super sweet. All the employees are so caring towards your baby! Yes, there is a wait, but it’s worth every minute and penny. Yes, I wish the hours were a little more convenient, but I make time to go when they are open. If you can’t get off mon-fri then use the Saturday they are open once a month. It’s really busy most of the time. When I just went this past Thursday there was some stuff laying around not making it real safe for kids, people, and some animals. Also, be prepared for the waiting room not being the cleanest. THEY DO NOT DESERVE ONE STAR!!!! Customer service is terrible! The front desk girls (KAT) are irresponsible, rude, unorganized & immature! Was scheduled for surgery, was told to go home when I got there. KAT said they were over booked.I missed work that day, had no more sick days, couldn't come back. I spoke to the person in charge. That was a waste of time, she did not care, did nothing. ABC clinic majority wise have good honest people there. But....there are a few who are evil. The try to cover up their mistakes at the customers expense. My 2 dogs are HW positive. They both went through their treatment. They never tested negative. The treatment did  not work. ABC clinic said it was because the HEARTGARD failed. It was not potent enough, they were to blame. After much research, others had this happen too. I was told also, the clinic had female cats they fixed get pregnant! Numerous cats have been born because they did not do their job.   So, do not tell us this place is classy, on the up & up!!! A friend of mine recommended ABC center to me. I brought my 4 month old puppy in today to be spayed. Everyone I came into contact with from drop off to pick up was very nice and helpful. My family had 6 pets spayed and neutered in the past 9 years. The pets are treated very well coming in, and when surgery is completed. When you pick -up your pets, you are given post-Op instructions that are very helpful and easy to follow. I was able to bring in my lease to prove I was a City of Waco resident. I have been very impressed with the deals you get on the preventative monthly treatments and also the follow through on spay procedure. I will say the only complaints I have is a couple of the techs who lack knowledge of cats have no idea what a color of a cat is or secondary vs primary colors. Example, I have a red lynx point & white cat. But it was listed as "cream and cream" for colors. This can be a bit stressing to read when you are planning to drop off your cat and pick her up later on. It is also a bit surprising to know they don't really know colors--orange and white would have been better as she is def more orange than a cream. Anyways, when I explained it to the lady that checked us in she updated it right away. My only other complaint was aging her. While teeth is used, body size and development are as well. They said she was 1 at least, when her primary vet at a different place and I talked afterwards, she figured she was 8/9 months barely an adult. This is important when considering feeding her appropriately, etc. They are good at what they do, but please: get a primary vet who can look at your pet and also instruct you on when to do the spay/neuter there. Mine said it was important to have all shots done first, not wait until surgery date as a large amount of strays are brought here and can bring in who knows what and you don't need the respiratory infection and other things. My girl had her spay last week and she was treated beautifully and has bounced back quickly. They didn't overdose her on meds or give her too much anesthesia, you could tell this wasn't their first rodeo. I appreciate what they have to offer our community and thankful that it eased the costs of me being a first time pet owner. They also did a great job trimming her nails! If you need your pets spayed or neutered this is the place to bring them The staff and Doctors are outstanding. When I get ferals I bring them here to be fixed so that later on we don't have an over abundance of kittens running around. I have been coming here for many years Their medicine I find us cheaper than most Vets. I bring foster and personal pets here. The staff has always been extremely friendly, even when they are seriously busy. They are quick and efficient when delivering vaccinations and drawing blood for various tests and delivering the results. The prices are amazing and for someone with very little time to sit and wait in a room, this is ideal. None of my visits have ran over an hour and a half. This includes check in, getting vaccinations and blood drawn, waiting for the results and even talking to the on duty Vet! They're happy to give you prices for future procedures and super informative! My only complaint, it's really not even that more a caution, is the clinic's mascot. A large black cat came wandering into the lobby during my last visit and we thought a patient had escaped! It was super cute and really friendly however for owners that have animals that don't like cats it's a little nerve racking. My GSD is not so fond of small, prey type animals and my anxiety shot through the roof when it came out. I would absolutely hate for someone to not be paying attention their pet and see that kitty get attacked!Read Less

I brought my cat there last year. Everything went well. Today I brought in my other cat. I got her as a stray and she has had a number of health issues in her short little life. Her surgery was successful, but she had some minor complications. The staff was open and honest with me throughout the process, and they went above and beyond what I had expected from them. This clinic sees a LOT of pets every day and they're fantastic for their mission! Animals that are spayed or neutered live longer,healthier and happier lives!I adopted my sweet Sadie the Lynx Point from a wonderful shelter in Mexia ( LARAS House) and it made pick up a breeze to pick Sadie up from here instead of making another trip to Mexia.This clinic is great at what they do, organized, quick and helpful. They do have a strict intake and release time for pets but the staff is great and they do whatever they can to make sure your pet has a simple recovery from their procedure. Animal Birth Control Clinic does a fantastic job of providing low cost vaccinations, spay/neuter, flea and heart worm preventative as well as education to pet owners. Their mission is a commendable one, and difficult, but every member of their staff is always courteous and knowledgeable. I have had one dog spayed there and I have an appointment for my new guy just as soon as he's old enough. Although the recovery time is a little bit longer than other clinics that use a more expensive method of spaying, my dog healed fine, and I was provided with all the information and medication she would need. The staff's love for animals is always evident and I am always confident that although I'm spending sometimes half the amount I would spend at a vet, they are getting the same level of care. We took our kitten there and got the "Kitten Package" which includes a full series of vaccines, deworming, rabies shots, Frontline flea treatment, and neutering when the cat is old enough--all for $100! This is a huge savings over the vet or other pet facilities in the area. The technicians and vets on site are friendly, polite, and knowledgeable, helping answer our questions and being clear about what to expect in upcoming appointments. We have never had to wait long to be seen, even when walking in. I adopted a dog from the Killeen Animal Control and had her spayed and updated her shots here. They were great, they called me back within a couple of hours of submitting a request for an appointment. They were very pleasant over the phone and did everything in a timely manner.Also, their prices were great. It was worth the drive to Waco. My dog came through surgery perfectly fine and didn't seem to experience any pain. She healed perfectly. My wife and I foster Rescue Jack Russell Terriers.  We used this facility to spay a female we are fostering. The prices are very economical and the dog was treated very well.  We were so impressed with the care and friendliness of the staff we brought our own dog in for annual vaccinations and a nail trim and saved over $80 of what our normal Vet would have charged us for these services.For spay and neutering and routine vaccinations this organzation is a great place to go and save some money. You will still need to have a regular Vet for medical needs.
