My granddaughter worked for this office, her passion is animals and was very excited. Her job was a kennel tech which is not a glorious job but she didn't mind. Her job description was to feed and water the animals, walk them 2-3 times a day, clean kennels, do dishes and laundry. I told my granddaughter that I was told they could not keep a kennel tech and even Dr Ainsworth told her that and let me tell you why they cant, the staff is shitty, this is a very toxic environment to work in. They would have 15 dogs at once and not any of them would lift a finger to help her. The staff would sit in the lobby whispering about her and I'm sure instigated by Ms Monica who is a total B. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone...and this is why you can't keep a kennel tech. Read Less

Chewy asked me to contact the vet I am going to use for my rescue dog. When I called, I "attempted" to advise the female that answered the clinic phone (she did not give her name) that Chewy asked me to call so they could get permission to send heart worm medication. She cut me off before I could finish and asked for my last name. I knew she was going to look for records and advised she would not have our records. I "attempted" once again to say what I tried to say before and to request an appointment for her free wellness visit, heart worm test, nail clipping, and heart worm medication. Once again, she cut me off and said, in a rude tone of voice, "We are not going to help you if you don't have records." I advised her that I was not asking that, tried again to speak and once again she interrupted me in a rude tone of voice stating, "Then what do you want us to do?" I responded with "Never mind, I am going to find another clinic, you are so rude." The person who answered the phone should have seen this as an opportunity to retain, what would have been, a long-term customer. My intention was to continue using Dr. Ainsworth on a permanent basis as he did the spay on my dog when she was at Fuzzy Friends. I was really taken back by her tone of voice and how she kept interrupting. She is the first impression a person has of Dr. Ainsworth's office and I have to wonder how many others have encountered her and decided to go elsewhere. It doesn't take a lot of effort to put forth people skills and be polite. I would not have given any stars, however if you want to write a review it leaves 2 stars regardless. Read Less

Emerson Hospital is the best place to go for rabbits if you are located near Waco, TX. However, you must be sure to request Dr. Emerson himself. The other vet is allergic to rabbits and did not catch several things Dr. Emerson noticed immediately. The first time we visited the hospital, my rabbit was diagnosed with pink eye by the female vet and we were in and out of our appointment within 30 minutes. He was prescribed drops that cleared up our problem right away. The second time we went to Emerson was 4 months later, and we requested Dr. Emerson because he was recommended to us. Our rabbit had not been acting quite right. As soon as he was taken out of his carrier, Dr. Emerson could tell us that our rabbit was not actually 6 years old as thought but probably more then 10. (Something that several vets had missed). He could also tell that the rabbits kidneys were giving out. The vet and his assistant were both kind and gentle with our rabbit and encouraged me to continue caring for him, as well as counseled me on how to tell if he was getting too old to continue. They encouraged me to call with any questions or concerns multiple times throughout the appointment. Read Less

I love LAHS! I actually drive 100 miles from Austin to go to see Dr. Chad & his great crew. I've tried vets in Austin and they just don't measure up. They are wonderfully flexible with their schedule and working our dogs in when needed, and don't try to sell you things you don't need. They gently guide your dogs care, and help you make the right decisions for you. I had a very old terrier mix with congestive heart failure, cataracts, etc and they never recommended unnecessary products or procedures. When she died, the vet and staff were genuinely sympathetic and supportive. My new dog Gilly is still getting to know them, but my mom's older dog Chloe absolutely can't wait to go see them when we ask her if she wants to. Dogs know people who care for them and those who don't. If you are looking for people who will truly love your pets and care for an owners needs as well, give them a try! Read Less
