They care more about the pay check than the puppies health. It takes about 30 minutes to see a nurse and about an hour to see the doctor. I would not recommend this clinic unless you do have a real emergency. If your vet clinic is open I recommend going there instead. They charge way to much for so little. My pup was really sick and I took him in they charged me $500 for 3 antibiotics and fluid. They said he would get better at night but he only got worse. It's ridiculous. I took him to my vet the next day and he started improving within hours. Don't go to this clinic unless its a must. Read Less

Dr. Anderson is absolutely amazing, the staff is great too. They removed my Yorkies eye and did a wonderful job, Dr. Anderson explained everything so well and was so compassionate with us, she understood this was our baby. I took my dog to them twice in one week in respiratory distress. They quickly assessed my dog and did what was necessary to save her life. Dr. Anderson was very compassionate and knowledgeable and kept us informed on what was going on.. The staff were all very nice to us and caring to our Molly. It's been a couple of years, but Waco Animal Emergency Clinic is the best in Waco period. I've owned many dogs over decades and am so grateful for this place being open without trying to price gouge owners at their time of desperate need. I had a chihuahua who developed 'milk fever' over the weekend at 3 am. I realized I didn't have time to wait for my regular vet to open, and rushed her to the vet. She was so caring and nice, and was very careful with the calcium restoration and explanation of the cause. I too wish she could be my regular vet. They did follow up calls and even a postcard. Sadly I had to rush in her puppy a year later, but he didn't survive the drive there after being hit by a car. I was able to pay them for arrangements for God's Creatures to come get him and cremate him. I'm very grateful for their kindness and compassion and reasonable prices. Definitely recommend. I want to say THANK YOU to Dr. Griffin and Karen and tbe rest of the staff for going above and beyond to make sure Mixxie was taken care of in some way that we could financially afford and for calling for a follow check up on her. These guys are great!! Treated my pup thoroughly and cared very much for him.I have called more than once with questions about the health of my dog and they have always given me honest answers and said when they though a vet visit was needed and when they thought I could just monitor my dog at home, so they are obviously not trying to just gouge you for money. Our Lab mix spent 14 wonderful years with us, before succumbing to lung cancer. We took Lucy to the clinic for cremation and the staff was so wonderful. They cared for Lucy like she was their own pet. A few days later, we got the best condolence card from the clinic and all of the employees signed the card and added personal notes to let us know how much they cared. We took our new puppy in after an accident at home. The staff wasted no time in getting him in and treating him. The vet was very nice and explained everything in detail for us. I want everyone to know that the Dr and staff at this hospital took the best care of our 15 week old German Shepard "Cloey". We brought her in on a late Sunday night extremely ill. She was diagnosed with parvo. My husband and I hearts were breaking. The Dr and staff did the best they could to comfort us and never once judged me for my insane crying! They treated our baby very agressive with meds and fluids. Because this hospital kept our baby alive til the next day....our precious Cloey has survived her illness and will be coming home to us today from her primary Vet. Truthfully, my initial impression of this vet was not good. My dog's little body was seizing dramatically and constantly. He had a dangerously high fever, my heart was breaking, and I was being pestered with questions about billing. This is an area of care I think they need to work on. HOWEVER...they rushed my boy back without hesitation and began working on him. He was still in very desperate shape when I left him there that night. Contrary to what they told me they typically do, they called me periodically during the night with updates. At change of shift, the Dr. who'd been caring for him all night called with his status and closed with stating she would keep him in her constant prayers...exactly what I needed to hear. That morning, I was allowed to visit him and sit on the floor by his cage and hold him for a long time. They just worked around me. By that evening, less than 24 hours after admitting him, he was so much improved, he came home with me! 48 hours later, and he was almost completely normal. Nothing short of miraculous. While I have to give credit for such a dramatic recovery to God, there is no doubt that he received excellent care while he was there.Read Less

The only reason I can't say "Loved it" is because I had to have my beloved dog euthanized here. But everyone was so kind and considerate of her and of me, allowing me as much time as I needed with her both before and after. You know they have to see all kinds of things, and you couldn't blame them for getting hardened--so the fact they are not is that much more amazing. I'd never been here before, but nonetheless, I later got in the mail a personalized sympathy card hand signed by everyone there. Looks like depending on who you see while you are there really changes peoples experiences. Unfortunately i fell on the wrong side of the fence. I had to put my dog to sleep last weekend and was referred here. They were more worried about getting my money first and getting her weight than relieving my dog of her pain. My boys were super sick (toxic mold poisoning) and had to spend 2 nights here (and days at their regular vet). The emergency clinic was great! Both doctors that took care of Mac & Duncan were very helpful and compassionate. Also, I cannot say enough about the vet techs! They let us spend hours laying on the floor with the boys at night, and were pittie lovers too. I felt completely comfortable leaving my babies in your hands. This is the one of the first clinics I have been to where the doctors truly show empathy for the animal. Another local vet had dismissed our dog as having been "okay", but that night, we noticed the animal to be short of breath and lethargic. We took her to Waco Animal Emergency Clinic, and they not only provided us peace of mind as to her condition but also as to how she was feeling. The doctor prescribed medication that made the condition less unpleasant for the animal. A market such as Waco is truly available to have this service available at such high of quality. I brought Baxter (my 1  1/2 year old Lab/Retriever mix) there on Saturday because he was vomiting for 3 days straight. We suspected he probably had a blockage since he eats everything! Upon further testing, the vet informed us that our sweet Baxter had PARVO! I was devastated because I have always thought death was pretty much inevitable with Parvo & couldn't bare losing my sweet boy. They told me he had a 50/50 chance of making it & recommend he be hospitalized there for treatment overnight. He ended up staying there Saturday and Sunday night before I had to transfer him to a regular vet since there clonic is only open after hours. During the time Baxter was there he received amazing care & the staff were all amazing with me. They answered my calls to check on him throughout the day & night and also called me for updates. The vet tech caring for Baxter (I believe her name was Destiny) even text messaged me a photo of my sweet boy because she knew how bad I was worrying and missed him. By the time we picks him up to transfer on Monday he was doing better and I knew there was hope!After spending a few more nights at the vet, Baxter is now home & doing AMAZING! You'd never even know he had Parvo & his chances of making it didn't look good just a week ago!I couldn't be more thankful for the staff here! Although I pray we never have to make another emergency vet trip, I know that if we do my babies will be in great hands. Read Less

These guys give me a new respect for people in the veterinary profession. A lot of vets I've been to in my lifetime have given off a cold, unfriendly vibe, which I can understand... dealing with inept or irresponsible owners, having to put animals down, etc., is probably pretty taxing after a while. At the emergency clinic I imagine they probably deal with the worst of it, but you couldn't tell. Everyone was wonderful.. the receptionist, the vet tech, and the vet were all so warm and caring. We brought in a baby puppy we adopted from the humane society who had parvo and distemper and who wasn't going to make it. The vet helped us make the right decision without being cold or impatient. He made us feel okay about it. I also did not feel like his goal was to get us to spend all the money we had. He just made our puppy comfortable. We were having such a hard emotional time and I couldn't have asked for a better vet experience. Read Less
