They do not provide emergency services.
Called ahead as the clinic requests to let them know we have a 2 yr old dog who is refusing to get up, lethargic, won't put weight on his back legs and we wanted to bring him in for emergency services. Alyssa let me know they only provide emergency services for established clients and she could get us in in 4 days. Apparently you can only have an emergency if you're an established patient. We don't have an established vet since we recently moved across the country.

3 years ago they executed a simple procedure to fix my dog. They botched the surgery and caused my dogs to leak fluid uncontrollabley. For this I had to put my dog on medication to help stop the leakage. Now they denied my animal the medication with out first spending more money at their clinic. I called to try and resolve this however I was told they did not want to help and was denied assistance. Beware this place is after your money. They have no interest in making things right and instead sent a letter denying service. Bad business. Bad customer service.

I am currently looking for a vet and reading reviews because I don't want to take my pet to just any vet. I can usually see things from both the reviewer and the companies perspective. That being said whoever is responding back to some of the complaints on here needs to be replaced or reviewed before posting and because of the responses from this company to the reviewer is why I will not be choosing this clinic which is a loss in their wallet. Thank you.
Update: I had to make an appointment with this vet and the receptionist was very friendly I am curious to see how the visit goes! I will update again once we finish the visit. Changing star level to a 3.
Update: Overall i think the staff was excellent, caring and friendly. I am happy with this vet clinic and will stay. Just goes to show you can't judge a business on some of the replys back to complaints. Changing star rating to a 5 for the awesome experience they provided me and my pet personally.

We have been using this clinic for many years, we actually travel from west Texas to be able to use them. The Doctors and the staff are very caring and most importantly honest and blunt. You won't be charged for all the extras like most places. It is worth it for us to be able to drive the 250 miles than to use one in our area. Thank you to the entire staff for all you do

Dr. Wade has been my vet for 8 years. He’s treated all of my dogs during that time. I have had 3 Pomeranians with congestive heart failure (common in the breed) that have lived longer and had better quality of life than any other vet predicted. His staff is top notch and his facilities are cutting edge. If you want a vet that will truly care for your let through all stages of it’s life, A Caring Heart Veterinary Clinic is where you should be.

I took my small dog to A Caring Heart and was so glad I did. Dr. Slaybaugh was the best vet I've ever dealt with. He was caring and easy with my scared dog. I am so happy that I found them. The staff there is also very good. They were kind and understanding. I felt very comfortable there and so did my baby. I will not go anywhere else. Thanks guys...you are the best!

Dr wade is fantastic and truly cares for the animals. I have been goin to him for the last 4 yrs. He has taken care of my 2 oldest furbaby's their entire life and is now caring for our newest family member who is 11 weeks old. The entire staff is caring, compassionate and show so much love to all of my babies. The only complaint is that their prices are a bit higher than other veterinarians in this area. That being said, they do offer different monthly specials that are helpful.
All in all A Caring Heart is exactly as the name says...caring and a great place to go.

I am new to this place and I just want to say it has been the best vet I have ever been to. My iguana was sick, needless to say this was the only vet in town that looks at reptiles. I was very nervous at first, esp after calling around to ever vet in town, no on sees reptiles. My first visit to the vet put my nervousness at ease. Doc Slaybaugh was amazing with Iggy. He was very gentle and very sincere in helping care for my baby. He answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable aboyt the health of my boy. And yesyeday the Doc had to do surgery on my boy. Everything went wellas expected. I left my Iggy in good hands. I will definitely go back to this office and recommend evefyone I know. The staff was great too!

We switched from the base vet clinic to caring heart because of availability reasons and I must say that we have been very pleased thus far. Dr. Wade has been wonderful with our chocolate lab Logan and our cat Neema. He tries to keep costs low and explains everything to me in a very compassionate and caring way and the rest of the staff have all been great as well.

My two pups, Ace Joey & Chubs, have been going here for 4 years. They LOVE The Caring Heart and when I say the name they perk up and are ready to go! Sweet staff & friendly customer service for the most part. Ask for the 10% off military discount and also ask about the refer a friend program! (I do wish there was a frequent visits promotion freebie like a free nail clipping or something after so many dollars or visits since we have poured hundreds of dollars into keeping our dogs here over the 4 years) That would draw even more people into the caring heart. That's the only thing I would change! :) Thanks for a great 4 years for our pups, they were taken great care of and will miss it!

I have just experienced the worst customer service of my life! My husband and I are needing to drop off our dogs in the kennel and catch a flight for the holidays, and we show up at 12:05 on a Friday. I understand you are closed from 12-2 every single Friday, which are the WORST times in the day to be closed, but for my husband and I to be knocking on that front door, literally STARING at everyone in the main lobby watching them eat their lunch and stare right back at me....I have no words. It was freezing cold outside, and I'm VERY pregnant trying to calm my dogs down and just literally looking at all of them in the eyeballs, and it took 30 minutes for them to finally open the door and scream in my face that they are closed for a "staff meeting"! And ON TOP of that, I called the emergency number and the woman who calls them in emergencies couldn't even get a hold of them!! WHAT??? You call yourselves a 24/7 vet emergency hospital but NO ONE can reach you in an emergency??!! And ON TOP of that you are only the emergency vet to those pets you have on your list of "usual customers"!!! I'm sorry but I just cannot keep my cool right now! Do these wretched people not have a guilty conscience? Now I'm honestly worried about how they are going to treat our babies!! If they treat humans the way they treated my husband and I today, then how the heck can I expect them to treat my dogs?!

I've been taking my dogs here for about a year now. Today we are trying to drop them off at the kennel so we can catch a flight out from Dallas, but no one wanted to remind us that you are closed for a "staff meeting" from 12-2 each and every Friday. We showed up at like 12:02 and you are sitting there staring at me knock on the door while you all laugh and look at me. EXCUSE ME?!! This is just the worst customer service I have experienced EVER, you aren't even being good human beings!!! What in the world OBVIOUSLY you are your first priority. I would hope that especially during this holiday season you would soften your hearts, but all I've experienced is pure disrespect!

Friendliest staff of any vet I have been to. Even if I don't remember them, they remember me. Dr. Wade is the only vet I've ever been to that my cat doesn't throw a fit for when being examined. Another comment says he's a "cat whisperer" and I would definitely agree. They are also willing to work with you to try to keep your costs low (by trying inexpensive treatments first, having a nurse do a treatment, or letting you do treatments at home). I've been going for about 2 years now and have only been upset with them once due to a miscommunication. If the wait times weren't so long (even with an appointment) they would get 5 stars.

Make an appointment for the next day and wait over an hour to be seen while I watch 3 people that came in after me go in before me. I will find a better vet that actually cares because this one does not.

Last night, after we got home from supper, I walked into the dining room to find my wife, Laurie, sobbing. I looked over her shoulder and saw the pile of mail she had just brought in. On top was card that said "with deepest sympathy", and I realized it was for our dog, Tillie, our pet for the past 8 years, whom we had to put down last Saturday. I realized that was why Laurie was crying. But when I opened the card and read it, I got the full effect. The card was from the vet clinic where she was put down. Surrounded by the signatures of the staff of the clinic was a cloth heart with instructions to plant it in the garden to grow perennial wildflowers. But, what made me and my wife cry, was the card insert. It is about 3"x5". On top it says "In Loving Memory", on the bottom is Tillie's name, and filling the center of the card is Tillie's paw print. The name of the clinic is "A Caring Heart Veterinary Hospital" and they live up to their name. Thank you ACHVH for your kindness and thoughtfulness.

My family has been using this vet clinic for years and they have never failed us. The staff is friendly and loves animals. Most recently: my little terrier mix ripped his dew claw out. It was literally 10 minutes until closing time, but I brought him in and they saw me, treated him, stayed half an hour past close to get him treated and were caring and attentive throughout the whole process. I always have wonderful experiences there. They are reasonably priced too, which helps.

Today the staff got to see our beautiful 4 month old Pitbull, Marilyn. She was hyper and full of energy. However, they handled her with such great positive care. She had two shots and she never moved. I have always brought my pet's here. China, my big, beautiful, loving, and belated Pitbull, and my small, loving, and belated toy teacup Chihuahua, Kalani. The whole staff is just amazing with the animals and treats them all with such great loving, positive care and smiling faces. I would recommend everyone to bring their family pets here. The doctors get acquainted with the animals and then they take care of their medical problems. Most Vets I have seen before makes you put a muzzle on your pets and makes you and the staff hold them down. Here, they are a very patient, kind, loving, caring staff. All of them are great at they jobs and they just love what they do. Thank you Caring Heart Staff for being a part of our family.

I took my small dog to A Caring Heart and was so glad I did. Dr. Slaybaugh was the best vet I've ever dealt with. He was caring and easy with my scared dog. I am so happy that I found them. The staff there is also very good. They were kind and understanding. I felt very comfortable there and so did my baby. I will not go anywhere else. Thanks guys...you are the best!

Dr wade is fantastic and truly cares for the animals. I have been goin to him for the last 4 yrs. He has taken care of my 2 oldest furbaby's their entire life and is now caring for our newest family member who is 11 weeks old. The entire staff is caring, compassionate and show so much love to all of my babies. The only complaint is that their prices are a bit higher than other veterinarians in this area. That being said, they do offer different monthly specials that are helpful.
All in all A Caring Heart is exactly as the name says...caring and a great place to go.

I am new to this place and I just want to say it has been the best vet I have ever been to. My iguana was sick, needless to say this was the only vet in town that looks at reptiles. I was very nervous at first, esp after calling around to ever vet in town, no on sees reptiles. My first visit to the vet put my nervousness at ease. Doc Slaybaugh was amazing with Iggy. He was very gentle and very sincere in helping care for my baby. He answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable aboyt the health of my boy. And yesyeday the Doc had to do surgery on my boy. Everything went wellas expected. I left my Iggy in good hands. I will definitely go back to this office and recommend evefyone I know. The staff was great too!

We switched from the base vet clinic to caring heart because of availability reasons and I must say that we have been very pleased thus far. Dr. Wade has been wonderful with our chocolate lab Logan and our cat Neema. He tries to keep costs low and explains everything to me in a very compassionate and caring way and the rest of the staff have all been great as well.

My two pups, Ace Joey & Chubs, have been going here for 4 years. They LOVE The Caring Heart and when I say the name they perk up and are ready to go! Sweet staff & friendly customer service for the most part. Ask for the 10% off military discount and also ask about the refer a friend program! (I do wish there was a frequent visits promotion freebie like a free nail clipping or something after so many dollars or visits since we have poured hundreds of dollars into keeping our dogs here over the 4 years) That would draw even more people into the caring heart. That's the only thing I would change! :) Thanks for a great 4 years for our pups, they were taken great care of and will miss it!

I have just experienced the worst customer service of my life! My husband and I are needing to drop off our dogs in the kennel and catch a flight for the holidays, and we show up at 12:05 on a Friday. I understand you are closed from 12-2 every single Friday, which are the WORST times in the day to be closed, but for my husband and I to be knocking on that front door, literally STARING at everyone in the main lobby watching them eat their lunch and stare right back at me....I have no words. It was freezing cold outside, and I'm VERY pregnant trying to calm my dogs down and just literally looking at all of them in the eyeballs, and it took 30 minutes for them to finally open the door and scream in my face that they are closed for a "staff meeting"! And ON TOP of that, I called the emergency number and the woman who calls them in emergencies couldn't even get a hold of them!! WHAT??? You call yourselves a 24/7 vet emergency hospital but NO ONE can reach you in an emergency??!! And ON TOP of that you are only the emergency vet to those pets you have on your list of "usual customers"!!! I'm sorry but I just cannot keep my cool right now! Do these wretched people not have a guilty conscience? Now I'm honestly worried about how they are going to treat our babies!! If they treat humans the way they treated my husband and I today, then how the heck can I expect them to treat my dogs?!

I've been taking my dogs here for about a year now. Today we are trying to drop them off at the kennel so we can catch a flight out from Dallas, but no one wanted to remind us that you are closed for a "staff meeting" from 12-2 each and every Friday. We showed up at like 12:02 and you are sitting there staring at me knock on the door while you all laugh and look at me. EXCUSE ME?!! This is just the worst customer service I have experienced EVER, you aren't even being good human beings!!! What in the world OBVIOUSLY you are your first priority. I would hope that especially during this holiday season you would soften your hearts, but all I've experienced is pure disrespect!

Friendliest staff of any vet I have been to. Even if I don't remember them, they remember me. Dr. Wade is the only vet I've ever been to that my cat doesn't throw a fit for when being examined. Another comment says he's a "cat whisperer" and I would definitely agree. They are also willing to work with you to try to keep your costs low (by trying inexpensive treatments first, having a nurse do a treatment, or letting you do treatments at home). I've been going for about 2 years now and have only been upset with them once due to a miscommunication. If the wait times weren't so long (even with an appointment) they would get 5 stars.

I called and told them my dog was having issues and the lady on the phone told me just to walk in. So I drive over and go in just for them to tell me they're not talking any more walk ins today. Make an appointment for the next day and wait over an hour to be seen while I watch 3 people that came in after me go in before me. I will find a better vet that actually cares because this one does not.

Last night, after we got home from supper, I walked into the dining room to find my wife, Laurie, sobbing. I looked over her shoulder and saw the pile of mail she had just brought in. On top was card that said "with deepest sympathy", and I realized it was for our dog, Tillie, our pet for the past 8 years, whom we had to put down last Saturday. I realized that was why Laurie was crying. But when I opened the card and read it, I got the full effect. The card was from the vet clinic where she was put down. Surrounded by the signatures of the staff of the clinic was a cloth heart with instructions to plant it in the garden to grow perennial wildflowers. But, what made me and my wife cry, was the card insert. It is about 3"x5". On top it says "In Loving Memory", on the bottom is Tillie's name, and filling the center of the card is Tillie's paw print. The name of the clinic is "A Caring Heart Veterinary Hospital" and they live up to their name. Thank you ACHVH for your kindness and thoughtfulness.

My family has been using this vet clinic for years and they have never failed us. The staff is friendly and loves animals. Most recently: my little terrier mix ripped his dew claw out. It was literally 10 minutes until closing time, but I brought him in and they saw me, treated him, stayed half an hour past close to get him treated and were caring and attentive throughout the whole process. I always have wonderful experiences there. They are reasonably priced too, which helps.

Today the staff got to see our beautiful 4 month old Pitbull, Marilyn. She was hyper and full of energy. However, they handled her with such great positive care. She had two shots and she never moved. I have always brought my pet's here. China, my big, beautiful, loving, and belated Pitbull, and my small, loving, and belated toy teacup Chihuahua, Kalani. The whole staff is just amazing with the animals and treats them all with such great loving, positive care and smiling faces. I would recommend everyone to bring their family pets here. The doctors get acquainted with the animals and then they take care of their medical problems. Most Vets I have seen before makes you put a muzzle on your pets and makes you and the staff hold them down. Here, they are a very patient, kind, loving, caring staff. All of them are great at they jobs and they just love what they do. Thank you Caring Heart Staff for being a part of our family.
