We have been taking our animals here for years. We had 3 cats and have always had a dog. We lost all the cats within a year last year, through no misadventure from Lakeview. One had a sinus tumor into his brain; another one lived 22 years and died quickly and peacefully at home; the last one seems to have just died from a broken heart shortly after her last friend left us. It was actually acute renal failure, but it came on extremely fast after the last cat died and she stopped eating or drinking. She was 17, so she had a good long life as well. The staff at Lakeview is caring and compassionate, and always seems to be able to make time to see us. They certainly aren't the cheapest place around, but they're open a full day on Saturday so you don't have to go to the really expensive places if you need care on Saturday. I've happily paid them quite a bit of my hard-earned cash through the years. We've just moved to Layton, and apparently Layton needs some more small-animal vets. None of them seem to be open on Saturday, and the one we've been trying to use is always too busy to see us. Looks like we'll be coming here for the foreseeable future, in spite of the drive. I've worked in human healthcare, as does my wife. Medical care isn't perfect; things often take longer to sort out than we'd like. It isn't necessarily the fault of the provider. With animal care, clients are concerned about cost. I think generally, vets tend to try to err on the side of being conservative with cost. This may cause some things to be missed, or take longer to find. It's called "practicing" medicine for a reason. With Lakeview's long hours and caring staff, you can generally get in to see a vet quickly. I appreciate them being careful with my dollars, and also appreciate being able to get an animal in on short notice. I absolutely appreciate the long Saturday hours. Read Less

We loved Lakeview Animal Hospital when Dr. Clark was there! We took my childhood dog there all her life and had a great experience. Now that I have my own family we decided to go with Lakeview for our dogs and had the same positive experience. Even after Dr. Clark left we still took our dogs for vaccinations and were comfortable enough with the new vet. Then then we got our bill for the vaccinations... we were charged $50 just for a vet exam that we didn’t need! Our visit ended up being over $100 just for annual vaccinations. I’m not sure if being part of VCA requires them to raise their prices considerably but as an owner of 3 dogs we can no longer afford to take our dogs here. We would consider paying the price just to see Dr. Clark but without him there I don’t see the value in the care for the cost. Read Less

Dr. Gubler will torture and kill your animal. we took our dog here for a simple teeth cleaning and tooth extraction. We asked for antibiotics, and he said we did not need them. That was Thursday, Friday afternoon the our dogs left eye was melting from the massive infection from the tooth extraction. we had to take it to emergency and they verified that she was so infected the eye had to be removed. We took the dog back to him on Monday, and all they did was look stupid, and tried to deny that they did anything wrong before even looking at the dog. in addition, they never said sorry for you loss, or anything. Terrible bed side manner. Dr. Gubler will torture and kill your animal! Do not take them there. I absolutely love VCA Lakeview and its staff! They are always very friendly and helpful. Dr. Pozzuoli is AMAZING! I travel 25-30 minutes, one way, to take my two fur-babies to him. Had my 7 week old puppy in a few weeks ago because she would urinate while she was sleeping and her bathroom problems didn't seems like normal puppy problems. The vet said he highly doubted there was something wrong but said he would do a urine test. He gave me the sample bottle and told me to collect it, which I later learned can mess with the results. It came back with a UTI (or so they said) and my pup was prescribed antibiotics. After it didn't clear up I called to ask what the vet thought and they said he would call me back. After not hearing from him for a few days I called another AMAZING vet clinic in Bountiful. After meeting with another vet, he was very concerned. He did blood and urine work up and it turns out my pup has a kidney problem and might only last a few months. Had I listened to the vet at lakeview this poor dog would have suffered for a few months before passing away. Save some money and heartache and go somewhere else! Read Less

We have been going here for 6, going on 7 years, and have never had complaints. We obviously have a preference on which doctor our dog sees (who doesn't?), but we go here for everything from vet care to boarding, and even grooming once in a while. Prices are a little expensive, but I'd rather pay for quality care. Highly recommend. Read Less

We have been with Lakeview for about 20 years now. We started seeing them with our birds. Then we started with our dogs. Dr. Clark and Dr. Gubler have always taken time to care for our animals. They have seen many challenges along the way. They have always been with success. They have also been with us when we have lost our dogs. Now we had to make another visit them again this time to put down another dog. I was very concerned about this last visit as to never dealing with Dr. Pozzuoli we were kind of scared to see him as to not knowing him. Dr Pozzuoli showed a great compassion to us and he has now gained our trust. On January 15, 2016 he showed us such a kind and caring side when our baby had to be put down. We were heart broken. We will always go to this place. They have our support in every sense of the word.Read Less

I have always have wonderful experiences at Lakeview Animal Hospital. My family and I have all been going to see Dr. Clark at Lakeview Animal for literally decades! Dr. Clark truly loves animals, and he is very gentle with them and very smart! I would recommend him to anyone who wants a great experience for their pet. I'd also recommend him specifically to people who have animals that might have anxiety of going to the vets, because he is very loving and gentle with them. I just took my little Boston Terrier in for a surgical procedure a couple of days ago, and he just called me back to make sure she was doing ok, and to give me some test results. We've had such an incredible experience of Lakeview Animal Hospital. Our cat was in and out of the vet for three weeks and in that time, we spent time with just about everyone in the clinic. Dr. Clark and Dr. Gubler are very kind, professional, and caring. I have gone to Lake View Animal Hospital for years and I have been very satisfied with the services that I have received there. I have brought in my three cats and my parrot numerous times for regular check ups, teeth cleaning, broken legs, declaw, spaying, etc. and have received nothing but the best service. Both doctors explain everything to you, they continue to keep you informed if you have to leave the animal overnight, they are gentle and extremely caring with you, your concerns, and your animals.
