I love taking my dog for grooming but as for info on training my dog I would have to disagree with crate training and doing collar and leash. I would rather keep my dog with his harness. Sorry but I well look for another Vet to get a second opinion. I've asked friends of mine crate training and they all agree they are against it. So the stars are for the grooming. UPDATED 3/28/18 Gave me a free nail triming. That was nice of them. However they told me because i gave them a "bunch of negative reviews" not to come back. Thats there choice, but i would think that instead of blacklisting someone for a negative reveiw you would work to see what you can do to fix it. I mean i raised my reveiw simply due to the free nail clipping. There are things that drew me to this place to begin with: i have a older dog that its always really expensive to get him treated: and it was nice to have the vet cost go down: but the quality did too. I first took my dog to quail pointe to get his teeth cleaned and get some facial growths cut off. The teeth came back and looked great: but they shaved WAY TOO MUCH fur off his head in my opinion (i am not a vet professional so for all i know that could have been what they needed to do) ! It took months for them to grow back! This last time i took him for a check up: and they tryed to sell me a teeth cleaning by trying to lie and say his teeth where in dire shape (he had his teeth done a few months earlier) i knew better so i declined. Not a bad place to go, but just be aware they do some questionable sales tactics. If they want to improve there service they could be alot more open, and give more options to the owner. Read Less

They answered all of my questions regarding my new puppy, they gave me tips on how to take care and help my puppy to succeed in our home, the Dr. even gave us a demonstration with her own dog about manners and tricks that my dog could learn in puppy training. The appointment did not feel rushed like you usually feel at any type of clinic, the assistant was very sweet and caring. My only suggestion would be to hire someone to clean the yard they have on the left side of their building as it is completely covered in dog fecal waste. Read Less

I just moved to the area and this vet was close to my house. My dog got sick and I needed to take her in. They got her in right away. They reviewed the vet records I had sent over from my previous vet. They treated my dog with love and compassion. They were also very informative and explained everything to me. I have never experienced such poor customer service and been turned away for expressing my concerns about my dog and the situation. I am not rich and don't have hundreds of dollars in my pocket. I explained that I was frustrated since it was my second time in a month taking my dog to the vet and it would be $600 for simple infections that needed antibiotics and wanted to see if there was a way to get the price down. When the doctor came in, I was told I had disrespected her and her staff and more or less told to take my dog and go some where else. I have been taking all of my dogs here for 4 or 5 years and I have never had any isssues, until now. I felt as if I was being turned away for expressing my feelings in a very unprofessional way. It could have been handled in a better way. And I certainly didn't mean to be offensive or disrespectful in any way which I told her, but she didn't seem to care. I would highly recommend taking your pets somewhere where they will be taken care of and they will be worried about the animal and not the costs or whatever it was that struck her nerve. Our cat was very sick and our original vet acted like it was no big deal and tried to put us out a month and a half. I called Quail point and they were willing to get me in same day and do dental the next day if that's what she needed (we knew it was what she needed). We took her in and everyone was very kind and professional and they did her surgery next day as promised. They gave us an upfront quote even for worse case scenario. Absolutely disgusted that a veterinarian, a person who dedicates everyday to helping animals, could even treat me or my dog with the most disrespect. I was attacked with how I should be raising my puppy. She approached my puppy in the most unsubtle way and was mad that my puppy LOOKED scared. She told me if I didn't pay for an 8 week training My dog would start biting people. Dogs react to people by their energy and the way they approach them. If my dog is shaking in terror (which she has never done before) with her tail between her legs and ears back then i know she wasn't comfortable at all with dr ford. I don't care what education she got that doesn't have anything against a pets owner. At the end of the Visit she could tell that I wasn't all for her training plan and stormed out of the room saying she was trying to help my puppy. I was left not even knowing if my puppy was healthy because she was more concerned about letting me know every decision I've made for my puppy is horrible. I know what my puppy needs and what works for her. Not only was I mistreated but so was my dog and I will never go there again. Read Less

I don't understand how a vet can be so disrespectful to a pet. Ms. Ford (not Dr. because she shouldn't be qualified) treated my dog with such disrespect my dog started quivering in terror. She then told me my dog was not trained and needed lessons. She also said that I have to get my puppy fixed or she will grow up to be worthless. What a giant waste of money! I've been bringing my older animals here for almost a year now for routine visits and things and had no problems until I recently brought in my sweet new puppy. I was asked about spaying her and I told them I was unsure about it, and then I was told that I should consider my new baby livestock and I shouldn't get attached to her because I would be shortening her life if I chose not to spay her. I have also had expensive food and puppy classes shoved down my throat. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the man that works in the front office is very kind and curtious. Every time I've gone in to this place it costs an arm and a leg! The staff is rude and the veterinarian is very condescending. My dog had been having some allergy problems and I was put through the ringer trying to get him proper care. Not only were they expensive just for an office visit, but I felt like they would tack on anything they possibly could to charge more. Food, pills, shots, you name it! I was concerned for my dogs condition and was working hard to help him, but when I went in to get some guidance I was insulted. Dr. Ford and her staff are excellent. Switched to QP after receiving poor service from another vet in the area. Wish I had switched sooner! She offered our dog exceptional care and saw her through to the end. Dr. Ford is compassionate and was very detailed when describing treatment options. She's also realistic when it comes to outcomes. She gave us her full attention and we never left feeling rushed or talked down to. She breaks everything down and walks you through from start to finish. She extended our dogs life by a few months which I'm grateful for and QP put our dog down when the time came in a very humane way. We have two large dogs that act as service dogs to both my disabled vet husband, and me. Their health is incredibly important, and care for large dogs (130 lb each) can be quite expensive. Dr. Ford and her staff are amazing. They are so caring, and work with us to ensure our dogs stay healthy and happy. After reading these reviews I was VERY nervous to take my 5 month old pup in to get neutered but they could get him in a lot sooner than others...  I am absolutely amazed by my experience, the staff was great and reassured me everything would be fine even though I expressed I had concerns after reading reviews. ... I dropped him off at 830 am went through normal check in and at 10am got a call he was finished and in recovery and doing great...only an hour after I left which was awesome I didn't have to worry all dayWhen I picked him up the staff was again very accommodating and fantasticI will most definitely be back and will be switching vetrinarians because I had an amazing experience Thank you Dr ford and staff! When arriving in town from our move, I opted for this vet as this was the vet my sister used.   I have had fantastic service here as have my dogs and cat.   I'll admit that the cost is a little on the high side.... nothing like my vet in California though.   I'll keep bringing my furred family here until it proves me wrong as I am happy all the way around withe the service, staff and facility. Stay far far away! This vet will steal you animal from you if you let her. She will take much more money from you than required. She preforms the worst surgery and botches most all of them ending in death or severe infection. I take my two dogs (Shih Tzu and Cocker Spaniel) here at least twice a year and the groomer does a very nice job -including anal glands for around thirty each. Drop the dogs off in the morning and pickup after work.The groomer is usually booked at least a week in advance so make your reservations early -this is the only "issue" I have because Murphy's law inevitably makes it difficult on me sometimes.With such a busy schedule I would like to see more groomers (I'm fairly certain that they have only one) and is the ONLY reason I would consider calling somewhere else and the ONLY reason for losing a star.Other nice benefits is having the dogs checked out (annual exams, etc) during their wait. The staff have ALWAYS been nice, professional and courteous. Will continue bringing my "puppies" here.Vet service is a bit pricier, but it's well worth the few extra pennies Read Less

Wow! I just read the other review and I think they may be talking about another hospital. I have had nothing but very positive experiences at Quail Pointe. Dr. Ford and her entire staff are warm, friendly, very helpful and funny. I have been to most animal hospitals in this area and have never felt so taken care of. My dog even likes going in the building. They are very busy, and I have had to wait up to 15 minutes to get into a room, but the receptionist always keeps people who are waiting entertained and posted as to what is going on and how much longer it may be. I do remember when the credit card machine was down, I too had my dog there being groomed, and I was told twice that I would need to pay by cash or check, I can't imagine they neglected to tell this other person 3 different times, and even if they did, ""stuff happens"" he should feel good knowing his dog was well taken care of, and they didn't let a business glitch interfere with that Read Less
