I love the vets and techs at Creekside Animal Hospital. We have always been very happy, and they are great with our pets. Our pets trust them , and so do we. We have the Optimal Wellness Plan on both of them, which includes office visits and diagnostic testing. Well, what good is that if they can't see our fur baby in an emergency? I just spent a fortune at an emergency hospital because our dog has been vomiting and has a mass in his stomach. We need to just have to get another x-ray today to see if the mass has changed or moved so we know how to proceed. Even though he was lethargic yesterday, they said they couldnt' see him until Friday (it was Tuesday). Now he has to have films the next day (Wednesday) and I was told they can't see him until Thursday. I'm so beyond frustrated at this point, because his own vet is not available in an emergency situation. There is not even an attempt by the person at the front desk to ask the vet if he can be seen. This is hurtful! We love it there, but our dog, who currently can't take any food or fluids orally until the mass is rechecked, can't get any help from his own vet. It's not right! I guess I will go pay another small fortune at the emergency hospital again when I already have diagnostic testing as a covered procedure at his own vet. Read Less

I just want to say that this is a great veterinarian office. Clean, professional, helpful, and very friendly. My visit was a sad one as I was putting my 12 year old German Shepherd down but they were so compassionate and gave me lots of time with him at the end. I appreciate the staff so much! Doctor Grover is fantastic with our small dog. He performed a knee surgery on him last fall to help stop his patella slipping out of place and it’s made a world of difference for our little guy. The checkups are quick, shot administration is smooth, and the follow up post procedure is thorough. Blythe, who’s almost always there when we check in, is an amazing technician and is so good with our dog. Dr. Orr has been our family vet for years. He has done multiple complicated surgeries on our pets. Sadly, over time, we have also lost a beloved dog, Buddy, and cat, Tod. They made the process as easy on our family as possible. For my cat, they even stayed open a bit later so we could spend more time together. We also have other rescue dogs and cats. One is an F1 savannah, who is difficult to take to the vet, and he has done amazing with him! Dr. Orr even helped me find a solution when we were moving last year (only about 20 minutes, but to our Savannah, it may as well been to China) to ensure that wet could safely move him with the least amount of stress. I really can't say enough about how great Dr. Orr is. Dr. Grover is also wonderful, too. Their staff is kind and always helpful. Highly recommend after years of exclusively using this vet. Also, they recently merged with Banfield, so a great alternative to the vets available in the PetSmart stores, in my opinion. Read Less

We have been taking our chinchillas to Dr. Orr for 22 years.  He has always been gentle and compassionate when they have been sick and also knowledgeable about how to treat such a small animal.  He has been especially caring with our very old chinchillas.  The place is always clean and I never feel like we have to wait very long. I would totally recommend these guys- our very old german shorthair had her lung collapse a few weeks ago, and unfortunately she didn't make it and we had to put her down. The vet was very, very sympathetic and didn't pressure us into an expensive treatment that ultimately wouldn't have helped our dog in the long run. They even sent us a card a few weeks later offering their condolences. Reasonably priced, we'll be sure to take our other pets here from now on and couldn't recommend enough. Read Less

Ugh! What can I say, I tried to like this place but after lack of follow up and just doesn't seem attentive to our pets needs I gave up and took my pup elsewhere. I guess it used to be creekside animal hospital but things were changing and I guess we must have gotten caught up during their changes. Well good luck to anyone else going there I had enough with getting trying to get in touch with their front desk it was becoming my second job. The staff at creekside are so helpful and sweet. They made a very very difficult situation more manageable. We had to lay our sweet dog to rest this last week and we could'nt have asked for a better place to have helped us through this!! They explained everything before hand. DO NOT BOARD YOUR PET HERE!!  We picked our dogs up a day early and did not phone ahead.  Our dogs were only there 31 hours and they were in such shockingly poor condition I reported the incident to the police, BBB, Licensing, Newspaper and Best Friends Animal Society.  They were horribly dehydrated, covered in feces, one dog cowered, and shook and flinched as if he had been hit or kicked.  The attendant said the vet was going to see one of them the next day due to his bloody diarrhea, but there were no notes that the vet was notified and we certainly were not notified.  And it wasn't bloody diarrhea it was JUST BLOOD!  The other dog had bloody feces smeared on his face and body that had dried.  They both panted and drooled uncontrollably.  Had we not picked them up early I fear they would not be alive now.  NEVER, NEVER, NEVER leave your pet here!!! What a great vet clinic for bunnies. While this isn't my regular veterinarian for my cat and dog I wouldn't hesitate to bring them here if needed. We take our bunnies to see Dr Orr and Dr Grover. They are simply fantastic! We recently had our newest little bunny fixed here and the surgery went wonderfully. They called the next day to check in on our little guy, which I'm glad they did because he wasn't feeling to hot. I explained to them that he appeared to be in pain and not acting as he usually does. Within a few hours I was called back and told that a pain medication was going to be at the front desk for my bunny to see if we can get him over the first week. Later that day after taking the meds my little guy was feeling almost like his old self. I guess my only complaint would be that I wish I would have been able to purchase the additional pain meds (which I asked about when picking up after surgery) so that I wouldn't have to drive so far again later that day). I was having an emergency with my cat having a stroke and they clam to be open til 7pm (according to google.) The receptionist I spoke on the phone tells me they close at 6pm and they refused my service because they close soon. (I called 45 mins before they actually close) I was 5 mins away with an emergency case and the receptionist puts me on hold twice to ask if they can even see my cat. Then comes back on to tell me I can leave my cat there alone over night and some can help her in the morning My cats needs help now! Not tomorrow!! Waste of my time and my cats time! Read Less

Not a great place to take exotics. I had a sick ferret and was only spoken with by the doctor for a few minutes. He barely even looked at my ferret before giving me antibiotics and steroids. He said to call back if she wasn't feeling better in a couple of days. The next day she seemed worse and the following day I called and was told he would get back to me. He never did. I called again, no answer from the doctor. My ferret was seriously going down fast and the medications weren't helping. I took her to Wasatch Exotics, which was quite a drive but worth it. They hospitalized her because she was so dehydrated and kept her there for a few days. Then they sent me home with her and the correct meds. Long story short, should could have died because the creekside vets never got back to me. The staff isn't very welcoming, they seem annoyed to be doing their jobs. creekside animal hospital, worst hospital to take a rabbit to. they did not try to help my rabbit that was sick! gave my rabbit medication even though he showed signs of a serious problem , my bunny started to eat and when the medication was given to him it made him worst! my bunny died the last dose i gave him. i called and talked to a manger at the creekside animal hospital and they said that's a side affect!!!! they never told us that when we purchased that medication !!! We were using this hospital for almost 10 years and dr. Orr is awsome. However today we brought our cat for diagnostics and there was some new dr who charged over $200 to tell us we have to go to the different hospital to check our cat more closely. Really!!! We brought two sugar gliders in to get neutered. First one went perfect, second one not so much. They were helpful to get us back in and help us out. There was a lack of communication between what was happening but they really tried to make things right. In the end our glider is okay, just wish there was better communication on treatment plans between doctors and to patients. We will be returning if we have any other issues. take your rats elsewhere. i brought my rat in and they had him on and off meds, communication was near impossible with dr orr. at one point creekside had me giving my rat TEN TIMES the appropriate amount of doxycycline in a ridiculously foul flavor. It was a nightmare to get my rat to take it. Clearly my rat knew that what i was attempting to hide in all sorts of food was toxic to him. The medicine was incredibly pulpy and so sketchy. when i tried to figure out what the actual dose was they were giving them, they seemed to barely even if at all keep a record of what the concentration/dose my rat was getting. I still have no idea (and neither did my new vet they transferred records to) how much baytril he was actually getting either. They dont label the meds they give you correctly and apparently keep no record in their computer. All i know is they told me the doxy mix was 50 mg/ml. WHAT. They gave me a 50 mg/ml of doxy and had me giving HALF A MIL? WTF. 25 mgs? I dont understand how treating a rat with doxycycline can be difficult for a veterinarian. prescribing my rat to take ten times the dose 2 times a day of some seemingly far expired awful mixture when he should be getting 2.5 mg or so, and on top of that you can easily mix doxy into any kind of good fruit flavor that a rat will love? I believe they get their meds from banfield and banfield doesn't treat rats. Is that really how you want to get meds for your exotic patients? I could go on and describe how my visits barely consisted of 5 mins of exam time with the actual doctors, the lack of communication, the poor record keeping and straight up negligence but to keep it short just take my advice when i say this isn't somewhere you want to take your beloved pet. I hate to think how much money I paid this clinic in bs appts and even more bs meds. 3.5 months later and im still trying to fix the problem with my rat that creekside barely even seemed to care about - they just stuck him on and off antibiotics at a ridiculous dose creating some beast of a infection in my rats lungs.Read Less

Was quoted pricing before I scheduled the appt. Expected approx $100, they attempted to charge me DOUBLE. Very poor explanation of fees. Would not have chosen to use this Vet based on pricing. This place has been amazing! Our puppy broke his leg about 6 months ago and Dr Grover took such good care of him and was very mindful of my wallet. Since then we got the Dog Care Plan which is an amazing value! We can come by any time with no extra charge. I trust Dr Grover with my dog's life and he always looks at how to be kind to my wallet. I love this place! I can't remember his name, but the Vet that diagnosed my Chameleon with MBD was super friendly and informative. Edgar did pass on, but I definitely feel that I received as much information as I needed to help care for him until then. I will continue to go there with all of my animals! Read Less

This is a wonderful vet hospital! Very Friendly, Clean building, very fancy with large waiting room, and really reasonable prices! If they are short staffed, you might has a bit of a wait, but it is worth it to get the high quality care as great prices! My Daughter brought her sick water turtle there and then referred me to them, I am so glad she did. Dr. Grover is a really kind and caring vet; who takes his time to find out whats wrong with your pet. I brought my 12 year old cat into see him, who started to sneeze non-stop. I was told it could be one of 3 things, but since all the things would require the same treatment he didn't make me pay for a ton of test before treating. This is the best and nicest vet hospital I have found in Utah since moving her over 6 years ago. Their dental's are more reasonable than any other vet in Salt Lake, which is a big deal for me as my cat as a condition where his body attack his teeth and they need to be cleaned or removed a few times a year. This vet also can get the Xanax medication my cat has to take daily for a rare anxiety problem. My last vet was Herriman Hills Vet and they could never get it in and even had me fill the prescription at Walgreens, which charge over 3X the price the vet sold them for. I have seen a few negative reviews about this clinic, but every vet hospital cant make everyone happy. They also have discounts if you like them of Facebook and follow them on Instagram, which was a big help to my daughter who was unemployed when her turtle was sick. I have not seen their other vets, but I highly recommend Dr. Grover! Good vets are hard to find and its difficult when it is own furry/scaly babys life on the line. Hope this helps! The whole thing was such a disaster I thought I would call and double check before any more of my time was wasted and come to find out another dog had been booked into our appointment!!! Very unprofessional and careless because now we won't be back and will let all our friends, family and clients know where not to go!!! I am always hesitant when bringing my Russian Tortoise to any vet as they are one of the more rare pets and require a specialized skill set to treat. I was so happy with the service we received from Dr. Orr. He was very knowledgeable about tortoises and was very caring and really took the time to listen to my concerns. We are grateful for what Dr. Orr and Creekside did for us. We were out of town and had someone staying with our dogs. On a Saturday afternoon one of our dogs, a 11 year old boxer mix escaped and couldn't find her way home. She actually walked a few miles to our old neighborhood.One of Creekside's clients found our dog and took her in to the animal hospital. Dr. Orr and his team placed our dog in a kennel due to the fact that the shelters were closed for the weekend. We had a family member driving around our neighborheed looking for the dog and she found the person who took our dog to Creekside. We then got Creekside's phone number and contacted them on an after hours number.Once we got a hold of Dr. Orr he went to Creekside after hours and got us our dog. We wanted to compensate them for their time and they would not take our money. We are so thankful they took in our dog even though we weren't their clients and they didn't know who the dog belonged to. We were so happy when we found out Dr. Grover would replace Dr. Centini. We take our imperial Shih Tzu Cici to Dr. Grover at Creekside for everything! He is amazing with her and treats her as if she's his own. It's embarrassing to admit, but Cici is like the daughter we never had, and we find huge comfort in the fact that Dr. Grover treats her just like we do at home! I remember one time when Dr. Grover actually showed us the best way to clean her ears and then had us clean one so he could make sure we got it right (she's never had an ear problem since). We feel so comfortable with Creekside that when we travel we leave Cici there to be boarded while we're gone. She's loved and cared for and watched and I'm grateful to Creekside for that. My dogs have been seeing doctor Orr and today they saw Dr. Schiffer what a HORRIBLE and Condesending attitude. She said everything we have done for the dogs is no good. I moved to Utah a few months prior to coming to Creekside Animal Hospital with my 14 year old Golden, who had cancer and heart failure. It became obvious she had no quality of life and was in a lot of pain. I took her to a vet that was close to my house and had a horrible experience. So I brought her to Creekside after a referral. Everyone was very nice and compassionate and let me spend all the time I wanted with my little girl during and after she died. It is so hard to make the decision to put your loved one down and they made it as easy as it could possibly be. I only give four stars because of the cost, but the staff were all great and I will be taking my other dog there from now on. Read Less

I have a domestic pig, Dr. Orr is the only veterinarian in Utah that deals with pigs. On day she had a hernia on her belly and needed it removed, I was calling all over Utah even around the U.S to find a pig vet. I boarded my dogs here for about a month while my family moved and i was very worried about what would happen. We moved from WA to UT and i hadnt even seen this place in person. I showed up and was amazed how green and clean everything was! The outside looked great and they happily took me on a tour of the boarding facility. The gal showed me every room and how they go about their daily routines each day. It was very clean and oragnized. The cages are big and they even play music for the dogs. They also said that i could visit whenever i wanted. They were even happy to accomadte me coming on sunday when they're not normally open so my kids could visit our dogs as all. After a month we finally picked our dogs up and they looked great! They were not depressed and they had even got a free bath. These gals went out of their way to make our transition easy and keep our dogs happy. We are going out of town again soon and i'll be bringing them back to Creekside. I have numerous ""different"" pets, like snakes, bunnies, ferrets, and birds. These people not only treat them but treat dogs and cats as well. They are knowledgeable and will take the time to explain EVERYTHING to you!! I don't want to go to a vet that has only seen 2 bunnies and is still ""practicing"" on mine. Plus I can take my cat and dog there and have one-stop shopping. The doctor is wonderful, the staff is never too busy to answer questions and the prices are reasonable. Also, they have a boarding facility. The place smells clean and the technicians are not some weirdos like at some places. My family searched for a veterinarian that could treat our snake. Other places that said they saw exotic pets seemed to just be experimenting with different treatments. We were so happy when we found the Bird and Exotic All Pet Hospital. They are extremely experienced with exotics and even diagnosed what was wrong with our python who is doing great now. Late one night we had to rush one of our animals to a pet hospital. When we called this place with the emergency the voice mail gave us an emergency number to call. When we called that number, they didn?t even have an exotic pet doctor in until the next day. We took him to Cottonwood Animal Hospital (5 stars) that sees our dogs because they were willing to see him in this emergency. They did the best they could with him up but advised us to call an exotic pet vet the next day. When we called this place, the person who answered would not talk to us at all. She kept saying that all she could do was make an appointment or give us a brochure with information. As we were not even sure he needed an appointment we didn?t want to spend the money to come in. We had just spent a few hundred at the ER and just wanted to talk to a doctor about what had happened. We ended up calling Cottonwood Animal hospital's sister company, Mountain View, who took the time to talk to us and answer our questions. Our little animal was then hospitalized and got the care he needed ? with no thanks to this place. We will be going to the other place from now on. We had been a client of theirs for 5 years and will never be back. We also recommend that all of our friends with exotic pets never frequent this place. Read Less
