We have relied on the staff at Lone Peak Veterinary Hospital for more than 16 years. They have grieved with us during our loses and celebrated when we gained new members of our Labrador family. Our Labs (all three of them) love this staff who has known and lovingly cared for them since they were puppies. I was visiting family for the holidays when my dog came down with a cough! Poor thing was very uphappy, and I didn't want it so spread so I called Lone Peak Veterinary Hospital. These guys are great! I called at about 5:20 and they were able to get us in the next day before we were going out of town. The facility is clean, the front desk is friendly and the rooms were big enough that you didn’t feel cramped. Dr. Adair was great with us, she didn’t downplay our concerns but didn’t order unnecessary tests to see what was going on. I took my dog in to Lone Peak veterinarian clinic for her injured leg. Dr. Adair, who took care of my dog, was kind and and caring. She only charged $180.00 to x-ray my dog's leg, chest ( to rule out any sign of cancer) and her hips. She also had me come into another room to view the x-rays and explained the diagnoses. I have been coming to Lone Peak for over 20 years and I am VERY PICKY about my 4 legged kids. They are kind, compassionate and the vets there are simply superb. I refuse to go anywhere else ND they are NOT in my neighborhood. They treat my babies the way I treat them. They are monetarily comparable with the better vets in the State. My dog had a seizure in the middle of the night and we weren't sure what it was or what was wrong with him. My brother called the hotline number, looking for help or looking for a 24 hour clinic. The lady was extremely rude and unhelpful. She referred us to an animal hospital way far away from us and wouldn't refer us to a closer location. She even hung up on us. If you're going to have a hotline people can call, you can at least be helpful. Read Less

Staff is very good, but wait times are extended. Even if you make an appointment, you still wait 15-20 minutes, sometimes more. If they could improve their wait time and make sure if you make an appointment you get in on time, this place would be great. Read Less

All of the veterinarians are knowledgeable and caring and I appreciate that they talk to each other to discuss patient issues rather than having an environment of egos. Yes!!I just moved to UT, and finding a new vet that will take care of my little munchkin is hard. Why? Because you need to make sure that they care about pets and not just the money.I searched and searched and I finally found Lone Peak here on Yelp, I have sent them a message and after 10minutes they called me. I told them about my pup's issue and they told me they can squeeze me in for the night.  The vet tech was very accommodating and super nice. The facility is clean and spacious and they do different kinds not just a vet place but they board horses as well. We were transferred to a room, Dr. Kyle was very helpful, well duh he's a vet for a reason :pHe gave us options to try wig our pup, I indeed liked  that, because some vet places will just give you one option and of course the most expensive! When we got out the person that billed us was a bit rude, maybe she's in a bad mood but I'm not going to take a star from that because I'm happy with service and the nice vet tech took over so I dealt with her for maybe 5 minutes so meeehhh.For the check up, we paid $48. For some it's expensive but I think that's okay, it's worth every penny. I'm sure every pet owner will do anything for their pet. The $$$ adds up if you take home any medicine of course. We ended up trying out the first option and my pup's issue is resolved. So yes I recommend this place to every pet owner! Read Less

We absolutely adore this animal hospital and staff.  We have been taking our pets here for years and completely trust them. They have never overcharged and they untimely want to do what is best for the animal. The grooming dept is fantastic although tough at times to get an appt with. Our pets see Dr Adair and Dr Way and they are so sweet and gentle with the animals. They do follow up phone calls and are super easy to get a hold of with any questions that may arise. Read Less

Today I had to put my golden retriever down, he was diagnosed with cancer and was in a lot of pain. All the staff were incredibly sweet and caring. They were very helpful on this delicate situation and gave me all the time I needed to be with my dog, not to mention very loving to him as well. We've taken our dog, Trixie to Lone Peak Vet for the past 5 years. Every time is a great experience. I want to write this review based on our saddest challenge with Trixie, a few days ago our dog got extremely sick. We took her in and they really looked over her. They recommended x-rays & blood work to really dive into everything. Of course cost was a concern and we asked about each thing before we ok'd it and the doctor ALWAYS gave us the good and bad about each one so we could make the best educated decision. We left out sweet girl over for the day as the results came back OK they wanted to put her on IV fluid, they doctor called us and said that they do believe after looking her over that they believe she had an infected uterus and the best option would to remove it. However, they couldn't do it that night and the they were pretty booked up for the next few days, however the lady called us back as we were trying to figure out what to do with Trixies operation and they said they wanted to make sure she got it done and she could come in early Saturday to get it done. So, we woke up the following day, the nice lady at the front office helped us bring trixie in and off she went. They called after the surgery to let us know trixie did great. We went and picked her up later that day and they really went into detail about the operation, the medicine, what to do now, everything was so helpful. When we saw our little girl she was SO happy to see us, her nails were done and she just looked so happy! they took such great care of our dog, which is a big part of our family. Trixie is doing so great and the people at Lone Peak, ALL of them, not just the doctors but everyone including the doctors were nothing but supportive, helpful, and took such great care of our dog. I highly recommend this place if you really care about your animal.Read Less

Below you can see my original review from about a month ago. We had a very sick dog and in reality I think that we almost lost her. Fast forward to today and I wanted to bring you up on her progress and how pleased I am with Lone Peak and the wonderful Doctors and Staff. Nikki is doing wonderful and I believe that it was due to the excellent care and treatment that she received while being hospitalized. The Doctors were very knowledgeable and most important, they were very compassionate to us. I would recommend you to this clinic, I only wish that I could post a photo of Nikki, she is healthy and back to herself now. Thank you Doctors and Staff. ***************************************************************************************************************** I just can't say in words how wonderful these people and the clinic are. We have our very sick little girl at the clinic as I am writing this. We have used an 24 hour emergency clinic down by my office and the feeling of that place and this is as different as Night to Day. The Doctors and the staff really care and are compassionate with my Wife and I. The are so sweet with Nikki our dog, and it is making a difficult experience much easier to deal with. My Wife and I are empty nesters and our two dogs have become like our children. The Doctor sat down on the floor with us and talked about our dog, he was very kind and very informative. From all the experiences I have had at another clinic, I am so pleased at the care and the demeanor of this place. Took my dog into get her ears looked at since she's been having problems with yeast. They gave her an exam to make sure everything else was okay. Came back about two months later to get her updated for her shots so she could be boarded and they told me she was do for her annual physical. When I told them that she just had one when we were recently there for her ears they told me it would be different and they couldn't give her, her shots without one.I saw them do the exact same exam as they did when she was in for her ears. When I went to pay, I protested the charge. The lady at the front desk told me when she was in the first time that was her "un-wellness exam" this was her "wellness" exam. I have been a client of Lone Peak for many years and couldn't imagine going any place else for the care of my four legged children.  I am willing to admit that I am a crazy person when it comes to the care of my animals and both Dr. Jodi Way and Dr. Keri Bogardus (mostly Dr. Bogardus) have been on the receiving end of that craziness.  Their front office staff is fabulous and so very friendly.  It is amazing how smooth they make check-in go when I have 2 crazy Boxer dogs and 1 very fat cat in tow (and on occasion an actual human child).  Thank you Lone Peak for just being awesome! Lone Peak is the best vet hospital in UT!! The entire staff are great with my pets and me. They are a little expensive but worth the $. They know my pets and I when we walk in the door. We started going to Lone Peak nearly 20 years ago, and we lived nearly 20 miles away at the time. Someone had made an excellent recommendation, to go there. It was worth the drive. We have lived much closer, since that time, but would have continued to make the drive in any case.I remember one holiday season, when our veterinarian, Dr. Way, dropped everything and came down to see one of our pets, who had been having a struggle. Everything turned out fine, but it might not have, if she had not offered to come--at that time no after hours clinics were open.Long story short, what I like most is that Dr. Way looks for the positive. She attends veterinary conferences every year and keeps abreast of the times and of the latest innovations as well as new information regarding previously accepted treatment. Her focus is on how to make and keep animals healthy. She outlines all options, and leaves making the best choice under the circumstances to the pet owner.When our vet is not available, there is always another caring and conscientious veterinarian there to help. The entire staff cares, not just about the human clients, but also about their furry, or not-so-furry friends. Animal abusers will avoid Lone Peak! Read Less

Our 6 year-old Goldendoodle was diagnosed in July 2011 w/ Bone Cancer by this amazing medical team. They educated us on what they were seeing in the exams, took time to consult w/ other doctors & specialists, advised us where to go for further specialized treatment for Dakoda's care and continued to provide wonderful customer service through the care of our "first born" as we needed various medications (even their fabulous Receptionist, Raney, bringing the medicine out to our car since I had two young children w/ me each visit). When our family took part in an American Cancer Society Walk in October LPVH offered their encouragment & support by being a vendor, donating items for the silent auction & raffle. When Dakoda passed away in November 2011 Lone Peak was there once more to send a very heartfelt card of sympathy which EACH member of their staff had wrote a special note to our family w/ some including a favorite memory of when Dakoda would visit for baths, yearly exams & then of course during the course of his cancer diagnosis and treatments. Things don't always go as we'd like (i.e. Dakoda passing), but Lone Peak gave such genuine love & care for him and even extended that encouragement & care to us as his family. Fortunately, Dr. Halter at Lone Peak had even recommended to us to get pet insurance on Dakoda since Goldendoodles are a fairly new breed...that helped us provide the best possible care of Dakoda during his fight w/ cancer in order to prevent him from being in pain & offer the best quality of life during the time he had remaining w/ us. I cannot express our family's gratitude enough for Lone Peak being apart of our life nor could I recommend them enough for all your furry family member's needs. Read Less

I've always had pets and have lived in five different States so I'm not exaggerating when I say the best in the Country. The entire staff at Lone Peak hospital are as good as it gets. I have taken three dogs there over the last 15 years and the entire staff knows my dogs and truly cares for them like they are their own. I'm writing a review specifically regarding an emergency with one of my Golden Retrievers which was involved in a hunting accident. I called the clinic from the field and Dr Way cleared her schedule to take care of my dog. I was very confident that my dog was in the best hands possible once we hit the front door of the clinic. Dr Way fixed up my Dog as good as new and explained everything she was doing in a very understandable comforting way. It was a very bad situation which thanks to Dr Way turned out okay. My families dogs are a literal part of our family and every member of the staff at Lone Peak treats them that way. I have recommended numerous friends to take their pets there, all of which are having similar feelings about how they care for their animals. If you have family members which are dogs you will love the staff at Lone Peak. They are the best! Read Less

DO NOT take your animal to Lone Peak Veterinary Hospital in Draper, UT. I had to take my dog there. He had a seizure that incapacitated him so much that he was not able to walk or function anymore. I had to make the difficult choice to let him go. He was a Scottish Terrier/Chihuahau (or some other small breed) mix and he had refused to eat all week long. He was small to begin with, but had lost a lot of weight this week. He was so super skinny. After having him put to sleep, I returned home. About 1/2 an hour later, Animal Control shows up at my house. They said the Vet's office told them that Cosmo was in very poor health (ya think?), was so skinny and had weird marks on him. I told them the same thing I told the Vet's office. He had refused to eat all week, was lethargic, wasn't walking the right way and today he kept falling over before having a seizure that did it for him. I said he also played bitey face with 2 other dogs and that he was relentless in his pursuit of the game. I showed them what food he ate, and had a nice conversation with them. When I called the Lone Peak Animal Hospital and told them that I was upset about the visit from animal control, they hung up on me. It's hard enough to put down an animal you love, but then to have to deal with a visit from animal control on top of that, is completely ridiculous! This is a very unprofessional office. When I walked in and told them that my dog was not doing good at all, they said they could work me into the schedule at some point. It was only after she took me to a waiting room that she realized that he was in the middle of a seizure. THEN she took him back. I had a feeling that he wouldn't make it, but I DID nothing to deserve a visit from animal control. They asked why he was wet when I brought him to the hospital and I said that he had pooped a ton in his crate that last few days (despite not eating) and I didn't want to leave my dog covered in it. This is an example of an office that clearly doesn't care or understand the needs of its clients. The need for understanding, compassion, kindness, and decency. Not every euthanasia is the result of abuse. If I wanted to just let him die and didn't care, I wouldn't have spent the money (that I didn't really have in the first place) to take him to a vet. Steer clear of this animal hospital. You can find a better office that will actually treat you with respect and dignity. Read Less

Doctor recommended antibiotic for our new puppy to treat the bacteria in his upper respiratory track. When the receptionist lady told me I have to pay $80 for 28 250 mg pills I was surprised and asked her why is it so expensive she told me that their prices comparable with others. Later on I called a couple other vet clinics and they quoted me $50 for the exact same 28 250 mg pills. Complete rip off :-( Read Less

I have been a customer of Lone Peak Veternary Hospital for over 5 years now. We have always had superior service and a very short wait time. Recently, when one of my dogs got sick, I had to take him to a local after hours clinic. We then went to see a neurologist. My dog was diagnosed with untreatable brain cancer. Even though we hadn't gone to Lone Peak (due to the hour when he was sick and subsequent need for a specialist) the vets at Lone Peak called me on a regular basis to see how my dog was doing. When the horrible day came to end my best friends suffering, one of the doctors came to my house to help. Words can't express the feeling of caring and professionalism I have for the doc's and staff at this clinic. They go way beyond just 'normal' vet care. Each of the staff know their customers and pets names, and give new meaning to going the extra mile. Do I recommend this vet to others, you bet I do. They have a customer for life. Read Less
