I've been here a half dozen times now and feel confident saying the vets here do not know how to manage their patient load. I've never been seen less than a half hour past my appointment and once waited an hour past an appointment that took less than 5 minutes. The fees are reasonable compared to other vets I've been to but I wonder if the trade off is quality. I had a cat declared here and had to bring him in for 2 follow up surgeries when the vet failed to remove all the nail. Read Less

Dr White is the most wonderful and caring vet I know. My Amirtican Eskimo got bit 4 puncture wounds. They got us in right away and he even greated us in the hallway asking us what was going on. He assured me she would be ok. She is my baby girl I love this dog so much he took amazing care of her I will only take my dogs to Dr White! Read Less

These guys and gals are so friendly and knowledge. If you have a bully breed I would definitely recommend Dr Norman And Dr White! They are both extremely knowledgeable of the breeds. I really appreciate Dr. Smart's willingness to put time and money in to save a dog.  If the owner had brought her dog in herself, rather than having her father do it, may be owner would have been willing to work with Dr. Smart to save the dog.  I can see how the father would not be willing to consider other options because Zoe was not his dog.  What I do not understand is why people are so angry that the dog got to live and return to her original owners.  It's like the human owner's wish to have her dog killed is more important than the dog's right to live.I am sure it cost Dr. Smart much more than $200 in time, medicine, employee hours, surgical supplies, medicine and food..  Dr. Smart donated this to save Zoe's life.  I have rescued 48 dogs in my life--about half of whom were very ill.  I have spent a lot of money and worked with numerous veterinarians.  Most veterinarians would have just done what the family wished.  Those veterinarians would have pocketed an easy $200.  Dr. Smart tried to reason with the person who was not the owner to save a perfectly savable dog.  I personally think Zoe's right to live trumps anyone's wish to kill her. Good for DR Smart for saving that Boxer's life! This family obviously didn't want to go the extra mile for their dog but thankfully Dr Smart did. I'd love to see the pathology report from the tumor and learn more about the seizures but as far as I can see this dog is totally cured & alive thanks to DR Smart. What good dog owner pawns their dog off on a family member to be euthanized without a full diagnosis? Did they biopsy the lump? Do blood work? What was done before deciding to euthanize? Boxers get many lumps. They are a breed prone to cancers and benign cysts. Most of the time removing lumps is 100% curative! Obviously Dr Smart made the right call as the proof is in the pudding. Disgusting!!!!!! Anyone read the article about Dr Smart where the family brought their boxer in to have it euthanized and charged the family $215, then preformed a surgery that kept the dog alive? The family saw the dog at a rescue's website months later! Can you imagine???  How unethical. I hope she loses her license. Read Less

This is by far the best Clinic out there. The whole staff is Amazing. Back in February we lost our sweet cocker spaniel. We brought her in right as they were closing and they let us take our time with her. We decided to have her cremated, they had her back to us the very next day. You can't go wrong with any of the Dr's there but our favorite is Dr. White. Read Less

We love Bayview!! They take care of our 3 dachshunds, and a lab before that. They have helped with a few emergency situations and either talk to us on the phone, or have us meet them at the clinic, after hours. They care about the animals they are treating and it shows! These guys were the best! Dr. White has been taking care of our bengal kittens for a few years and treats us like family. We have been taking our English Springer and Shiatsu in to Bayview for 10 years now. We have only seen Dr. White and Dr. Norman. They are amazing, and our dogs are always calm around them. Our Springer is type "A", and I love the fact that both Drs. let her know who is in charge without having to bully her. She accepts it, and lets them look at her. Over the years, my rating of this place has gone from five stars to four to one. I'm not ready to relive my experience with Bayview, but wanted to update my review just enough so those looking for a vet won't see my overly optimistic review of them. They say hindsight is 20/20, and if I could go back - I would have changed vets right after Dr. White hit my puppy. He's a competent vet, but he always "handled" my visits and I left with more questions. Dr. Smart is super compassionate, but not at all competent. If those two could merge - I'd say go for it. Otherwise, you owe it to your furbabies to at least try another vet or two. If you leave most visits with doubts, RUN. Tip: The fake, form condolence letters are a mistake. I would have preferred a warning that all of your compassion is a rehearsed show. It was obvious on my dog's last day, but it would have been great to know beforehand. Read Less

Took our 3 month old puppy in because he was lethargic. Dr. Smart told us he had neurological damage and that if it were her dog she'd put him down. We could hear it and chose a different approach and he made it. We later took him to Fairfield Veterinary in Layton who told us he was merely hypoglycemic (common for toy poodles) which made sense why the sugar water he was on "cured" him. Read Less

My family has been taking pets to Bayview for years, back when they were in the old location they treated our first family dog. All of the staff are so kind. Last week we had to put down our family dog, and today I received a sympathy card in the mail. This small gesture is very sweet and reflects so well on the clinic. I was out of town and my dog was staying with family in Farmington when she ripped her dew claw on the ice. My normal vet couldn't get up there but said it should be looked at right away to prevent infection. I googled and found Bayview close by and am so glad I did! They didn't bat an eye when I told them the situation, got my dog in right away, kept me informed along the way, and made arrangements for me to pay over the phone. There wonderful !! I'm not easily impressed and am often annoyed and don't feel I get what I pay for in many situations in life. Bayview has helped me though many and all sorts of different animal situations thoughout my life. Most amazing was they saved our puppy from dieing of parvo. Recently helped me cope with me sugar glider having cancer. Also saved my favorite pet rat when I was younger from lung infection he lived 6 years. They have never put a price tag that would ruin my life on any treatment or racked up extra unexpected cost on my bill, I really trust them.Read Less

We recently had a large litter of Gordon Setter puppies (10!) Bayview made this process easy and enjoyable. Dr. Norman is especially wonderful and always extremely helpful.
