This establishment was recently bought out and has gone down hill quite a bit. Most basic procedure's have tripled in price. You could easily get the same care for half. My dog took a tennis ball to the eye & got a scratch on her cornea w/ some bleeding in the eye ball. We brought her to Oquirrh Hills as a follow up to her ER visit about a week or so after it happened because her retina wasn’t responding to light as it should. We saw Doctor Griffiths, and let me just say... SHE IS AMAZING! I was so stressed out about this whole situation & she was very understanding and was quick to answer any questions. She showed me my dogs eye with dye so I could see that the scratch was gone, and then explained to me what she could see inside the eye (she even drew it out for me on a white board). I left confident that with a little more treatment my dog would be fine. Doctor Griffiths took all the stress away from the situation. If you come to this vet, I would very highly recommend you request to see Doctor Griffiths. She’s the best! Read Less

We moved to the area about a year ago and our little guy got sick with something. We searched around for really good vets and stumbled upon VCA Oquirrh Hills. We took our dog in and he instantly fell in love with the staff. Dr. Hong was his first doctor and he took such great care of our dog. Fast Forward 5 more month and our dog decided to eat something that made him sick again. We set up an appointment online and took him in next day. Again, our dog remembered the place and was so excited to see his doctor again. This place is great and love to make sure your animals are loved and taken care of. The first time I went with our puppy, we saw Dr. Mott and everything went great. But my wife took our puppy for the final round of boosters and Joseph Hong was incredibly rude to her. He said our dog was bad and needed training because he didn’t like having his mouth played with. He also was livid that we missed the last appointment because we were out of town. Mia, my baby girl, got bitten by another dog today. They took her into surgery immediately, no waiting, not even to check in! I took my dog in to get checked out, and it turns out she had pyometra and right away they were helping me get an appointment for surgery and they took awesome care of my dog. They were very patient with me when I called a million times to check on how she was doing (crazy dog mom over here) but their staff was so nice, and Dr. Hong came in on his day off to check up on her, and he was very nice and was great to my dog as well. We have loved this place since the first time we visited! They are in a great location as far as where we live which is nice not only to have a wonderful vet so close, but also a trustworthy groomer. Our most recent visit was just a quick stop-in for both our pups nails to get cut, but the next will be renewing vaccinations. My daughter has a Savannah cat with some special care requirements. Dr. Mott has been so wonderful to work with. Not only does she encourage us to communicate with her on his health and progress between visits, but she checks in with us from time to time just to see how he's doing. We've also worked with Dr. Vaas in caring for our other cats, and he has been excellent as well. I came to Oquirrh Hill Animal Hospital because a friend had been coming here over ten years, and liked it well enough that she was driving clear from Sugarhouse rather than change vets after she moved. I had four bad experiences with vets, and was on a search for a reliable, honest vet for my 2 cats. I am now totally "sold" on Oquirrh Hills, & drive from South Jordan, even tho one of my cats does NOT appreciate the long ride. Everyone I have seen here has been careful, caring, and thorough in their diagnosis. My "problem cat" has been diagnosed as easily stressed, treated accordingly, and is no longer having frequent to constant diarrhea. We've come to Oquirrh Hills for several years, and they've been amazing. Great care at annual exams and check-ups for health concerns with our dog. Fantastic vet! They were able to take my dog in with in the day on a Saturday and everyone else was closed. The vet was thorough and fast. The service was very good as well. I especially appreciated them examinating my dog while she was sitting in my lap. She was already very nervous, so this helped calm her down. Read Less

I was looking for a vet for my new puppy and they were all very enthusastic to see my 6 mo. old puppy. He is very shy and calm but that did not stop them from getting on the floor with him to make him feel welcome. Even the Vet was on the hard floor with him instead of making him uncomfortable on a tall metal table. They are very knowledgable about Goldens and answered all my questions without any pretense. Horrible grooming care at this clinic. I've added some photos to this review, but the follow up care was even worse. This is all coming from a clinic who claims they've got a groomer who's done it for 15 years. We dropped our 2 standard poodles off and they came back with cuts all over all 4 of their paws. When we called to follow up, the vet told us it's from licking and they couldn't do anything to help us out. We took them to an animal hospital on the Sunday following the grooming because they were bleeding everywhere. The vet from the hospital pointed out several cuts on each dog. Oquirrh Hills did absolutely nothing to help us out, with the emergency visit being extremely expensive. I would expect a clinic to take some responsibility. Especially after injuring the pups. Please avoid this Clinic if at all possible. There are many around the area that show much more respect for their clients.Read Less

I love the Doctors and staff at Oquirrh Hills, they have been taking care of my dogs and cats for over 10 years now. They are always helpful and friendly and I trust Dr. Voss implicitly with the health of my pets. I also travel frequently and don't trust anyone else for boarding my dog. Took my boy, Todd, here based on the great reviews and I am pretty impressed! Drove an hour to get the best and they delivered! My Todd is a meaner, older dog when it comes to strangers and they were patient and so caring he didn't bark or snap at them at all! Him trusting them won my business for life and I recommend anyone to bring their pets here for the best possible care! Todd got a wellness checkup and nail trim, the doctor even gave me info for questions I would of never thought to ask and did not pressure me into any services to get money from me.
