I love this vet. From the first visit I had here, they were nothing but helpful and friendly. When my puppy got poked in the eye, he helped us find the best treatment for as cheap as possible, and he also gave us a free follow up appointmemt a week later to make sure my puppy's eye was better. They also euthanized my friends cat for free because she could not afford it and the cat was suffering and he didn't want her to suffer. That shows they really live up to their name. We took our new cat to get neutered at this vet, which seems like it should be easy enough. And yet, even though Dad dropped him off at 8:00, they only called him at 4:00 to come pick up the cat. And then when he got there, they told him they, "put him back in his carrier and saw that he was bleeding a little," so they had put him back under and told Dad to come back at 9:30. OVER TWELVE HOURS SINCE THE CAT WAS DROPPED OFF. Then when we brought him home, we realized the next day that they'd left his catheter in. Tube, needle, bandage, everything. And they didn't tell us. And since any even marginally competent vet would have let us know why there was still a needle in our cat, my guess is they forgot about it. They didn't do the job right, and they didn't finish it. While we are grateful our beloved 12yo cat is no longer suffering, I am 100% sad and disappointed in the care and service our beloved pet received. She had a Saddle Thrombi at home. If you are a cat owner, PLEASE become informed about this killer. We rushed our kitty into this office (veterinarian and staff) at The Caring Vet in Lindon, UT. They did listen to our kitty’s hart, but she was then left to suffer in agony with nothing for her pain for over two hours. We begged for help, but NOTHNG. When it was finally our poor kitty’s turn to be seen (after all other pet patients had been seen) I found myself having to tell the assistants how they needed to move her for X-Rays. Since her back legs had paralysis and it was still unknown if she had a fracture of her back, I requested the not just pick her up, but rather they slide her from the table and use a gurney to move her. This is not the ONLY gripe I have with the care and service received, but I’m still so drained from such a horrific experience. Just make sure you have a vet that will help your beloved pet with the terrible pain...while you have to wait hrs and watch your sweet pet die in agony. Find and visit (for free) with the vet/clinic you choose AND choose with wisdom and knowledge because you never know when you are in such a painful situation. Unfortunately the day after Christmas we had to take him.back in and put him down. They were extremely kind and very caring. I couldn't be more grateful. I love Doctor Hansen and his team! I have quite a few animals so having a vet I trust to give my animals quality care is vital. He has cared for two of my dogs and two of my cats and has always given quality care. The techs are always skilled and treat my animals with love and care. A few of my pets have serious dental problems and have needed dental surgeries. I have an easy time taking my animals in for surgeries because I know everyone at caring vet will care for them as if they were their own. They are always upfront and detailed about the cost of procedures prior to scheduling and if something comes up in surgery, Dr. Hansen personally calls you to discuss it and any possible added cost before moving ahead. I've also been quoted substantially more at other vets for these procedures so I know they are giving great care at a good price. I highly recommend this vet office! Read Less

I was visiting my family from out of town for the holidays when my dog scratched his eye on Christmas. The next morning I needed to take him to the vet because it was swollen and bothering him. Our regular vet was closed since it was Saturday so I went here. At first I was very impressed. The tech staff are very friendly and helpful. However, after three weeks my dog's eye is worse, the vet has no idea (by his own admission) what is going on, and I am going to have to start from square one with another vet in another state since our vacation is now over and my dog is still injured. On top of this, the vet overcharged me for our first visit (we had used their online coupon for first time visits for 15% off but they rang up the discount wrong and wouldn't fix it). Then at our free recheck we had to pay for more tests so it wasn't free, then since we had to go for a second recheck because the first two visits were ineffective, we got charged another recheck fee (for the vet to look at his eye and say yes this is worse no clue why). So we are $200 into this injury with no answers still and starting over with another vet because this one has no idea what's going on. I wish he would have said as much up front if there were an issue or question so we could have gotten this taken care of by now. Caring vet, yes but one who can help your pet not sure. Very disappointed. Would not recommend (which I feel awful saying because I love their vet techs). Maybe other people will have better luck there than we have. Let's hope. *follow up* I took Sundance to a different vet. It turned out he had a little thorn in his eye. It was rendered and healed fine. Three weeks he suffered and hundreds of dollars I paid needlessly. The other vet was appalled that after three visits the vet never realized what was going on. Gave us the wrong meds and generally had no clue what was fibbing on. Most incompetent vet I have ever dealt with. Have read several reviews where pets have died undergoing simple procedures. I shudder at what could have been and am very thankful my Sundance survived his experience at this clinic. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!! Read Less

My dog Regina was having trouble during labor and so we took her to our vet and they turned her down because they didn't want to stay after hours. We then took her to two other vets and they also turned her down while seeing how much pain she was in. Then we called A Caring Vet, and with no doubt told us to bring Regina in! Dr.Hanson is super great and made us feel so comfortable there! We are now going to be taking our dogs there! Great staff. Read Less

The staff here are great. However, we didn't have the best experience here. Among other issues one of the Docs that we saw was going to put our puppy on an ABX that would stunt her growth or otherwise be a poor choice for a rapidly growing dog. My wife had done her homework and corrected him. It made us uncomfortable with his other decisions and couldn't really trust him after that. I have been taking my dogs there for every reason. They are so friendly towards me and my dogs that I feel completely comfortable with them and what they have to say. We have brought several of our cats on numerous occasions. Each time, we are greeted extremely well, they always remember us, each staff member is kind and concerning. They are very considerate of our cats. This is our go-to veterinarian. I have never had any issues with appointments or waiting. He explains options thoroughly and is honest about what is really necessary. For example, we buy generic affordable medicine for our cats, he looked at the ingredients and told us that it was a good medication (we were trying to see if we should regularly take our cat to him for medication; so it would have been an easy buck to say that the medicine was useless).
