The only thing that made me hesitant giving five stars was there is because we are never seen on time. With that being said, we keep coming back anyway. The staff is so great. We love Dr. Powell so much!!! She has taken so much time and effort helping us with our animals. She shows she cares and never makes you feel rushed or like your concerns are ridiculous. Went there 3 different times. 2 different vets...2 diagnoses...2 medications...200$ later and my cat is still not doing ok. They want me to bring him in for more test even though they said they knew exactly what it was. They said they want to fix this and make the customer happy...as long as I pay more money. I honestly think they over charge people and that’s how they stay in business. I almost walked out my first visit cause I waited so long, but I was worried about my cat, so I stayed. If you plan on bringing your pets here for the kennel, I suggest you take them somewhere else. I choose this place because of my cats diabetes and with them having vets close, I felt she would be well taken care of and boy was I wrong!! They missed four of her shots and now i have to give her antibiotics because she has a bladder infection. Not only that, when I asked how much it would be to have her kenneled, they quoted me $11 a night (knowing full well they would be giving her shots) so imagine my surprise when my bill had an additional $6 every time she did get her shots. Our 3 month old puppy was diagnosed with Parvo and was very sick. She couldn’t keep any food or drink down and lost a lot of weight within a few days. Burch Creek Animal Hospital was so good to her and helped teach us how to care for her at home by teaching us how to insert her IV and administer fluids. They even would come out to my Jeep to give her the daily anti nausea shot. The staff was very caring and friendly. Burch Creek is seriously the best! Dr. Leavitt is the most amazing, compassionate and competent veterinarian that I have ever been to. About a year and a half ago, my sweet little Pomeranian had a sudden onset of paralysis on his right side. The vet I had been going to for years turned me away as they were "too busy". Even though when I went into Burch Creek they were also really busy, they were quick to make my emergency a priority and Dr. Leavitt saw us immediately (and even stayed late that night for us). He was able to figure out what was wrong and came up with a treatment plan to get my sweet boy back to being his healthy self. I was obviously distraught and the staff was so kind and caring and was there to support me in addition to taking the best care of my pup. Today he is as happy and healthy as can be and I will never take him to anyone but Dr. Leavitt. We recently came in for a yearly check up, vaccinations and teeth cleaning and of course had another amazing experience. Every single staff member here is so sweet and you can tell they all have a passion for animals. Dr. Leavitt genuinely cares about his patients and their families and I can never thank him enough for everything he has done for our family. I also know that price is a concern for some people, and Burch Creek offers very reasonable and affordable care. They will always give you an honest and straightforward estimate (itemized to the very last penny) so you know what to expect. Every aspect of care has gone above and beyond my expectations every time and I highly recommend Burch Creek and Dr. Leavitt to anyone and everyone! I cannot sing their praises enough! Read Less

Unfortunately we had to take our 1.5 year old German Shepherd in to be put down at Burch Creek due to severe medical conditions. The staff was very understanding and made the situation as best they could. They even planted a tree for him after the fact and the vet sent us a handwritten card with his condolences. They told me my dog would be fine just take him home with IV in him. He was vomiting and pooping in his kennel and wouldn't eat or drink and all they did was hurry cause they were about to close! They said here's an IV and he should be fine if he seems any different to take him to the ER. Next morning I woke up to my precious puppy dead! We started coming to Burch Creek when our veterinarian Dr Leavitt moved to this practice a few years ago. Dr Leavitt has always been amazing and gone above and beyond for me and my dogs, including helping us through a very rare disease with one dog all the way to the end. I spent 500 at this clinic 3 days ago for my son's dog which I have to say they did a great job with her. But now I have a very sick kitten that will die without a vet to help him, when I called and tried to explain the situation to them (that I was broke until payday) They told me that they wouldn't help without full payment at the time of service. Without help this kitten will die, what happened to caring about the pet more than the pocketbook? Read Less

We take our beloved Bichons to Burch Creek Animal Hospital and are very pleased, beyond pleased, by all that BCAH has to offer. The Doctors are competent but this place is primarily about making money. They push extra services and tests and have clever mechanisms to extract top-dollar when they've got you over a barrel. Quoted $462 to remove a walnut-sized lump from dog's tail (already a ridiculous price for 20 minute surgery). Day of surgery, told bill would be a "range" between $503 and $837 "depending" on how it went. Nothing but a scam to extract as much money as possible. Total BS. Read Less

Really great staff and vets working here.  I had a fantastic vet for my two dogs in Los Angeles.  Then I moved here and was sort of prepared to be disappointed since I was so happy with my vet in Cali.  However, I have to say I've been pleasantly surprised by the people working here.  They're very attentive and so gentle with my pups.  I'm glad I found them and I feel my dogs are in great hands at Burch Creek. I have been taking my dogs to Burch Creek since 2007 for all health issues and boarding. Burch Creek is the best. When Skye was boarded this time over Thanksgiving, Burch Creek did a great job working with allowing our neighbor to pick Skye up before close on NOV 29........ so that Skye would be home when we arrived 1.5 yrs later. I brought my 11 year old Mini Eskimo in for dental treatment last week. I thought her teeth were in terrible condition but Burch Creek did an outstanding job clearing out the plaque and cleaning her teeth. They did have to extract four teeth but it was done with precision. My dog is already better, her teeth look great and we are very impressed with our experience at Burch Creek. On a related note, don't be dumb like me. Train your dog to let you brush their teeth and do it often. Read Less

Very compassionate and helpful staff. They are willing to spend extra time with you if necessary to make sure all your questions are answered or give you time to grieve over a loved pet who has gone to the rainbow bridge. Watch out for these con artists!! Your pocketbook will thank you... I got a quote for the international health certificate three times, and each time they failed to mention the extra fees. Poor customer service. There are better hospitals in Ogden (Brookside for example) who do not hide fees. Avoid Burch Creek! Read Less

This place is amazing!!! I was so worried about my kittem today all day long, stressed he was going to die, and how was I going to pay for the vet. We ended up taking out a payday loan to get him in there, they were so sweet with him and us. The doctor gave us options on what we could do and cost wise. They were so willing to work it out with us and help us out! I left there feeling so much better and knew my kitten was well taken care of and we were able to pay the whole bill right there because of how well they worked with us. We had our dog boarded here during a trip and they did a great job. They give a bath to your animal as part of the boarding if it is over 4 days. They have very reasonable prices as well for boarding and have better kennels and facilities than most of the dog boarding places around. There was a sense of peace of mind as well knowing that he was being taken care of by an animal hospital because if anything happened they could take care of them. My family would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for the generosity, compassion and intelligence of Dr. Leavitt, Laci , Shelbie and the entire Birch Creek Animal Hospital staff. As a family, we were so fortunate to have one of the best veterinarian duos walk us through - and maybe even literally hold up our spirits as we said goodbye to our 25 year old cat, Spook. We feel the experience that was delivered to us by everyone involved was so far above what anyone would normally expect- it will never leave our hearts. Dr. Klar saw my dog. He addressed my concerns about my dog's limp/arthritis and seemed competent in his profession. However, he gave her a bunch of shots without telling me what he was doing. I didn't know what had even happened until I got the bill. Rabies was given at 2 years (3 year vaccine). Communication was very poor and I won't be back. Read Less

My dog had a hematoma on her ear and I had to take her down for vet care and surgery. They performed surgery the day of and the expense wasn't too overpriced. They bandaged her ear poorly and that night the bandage had worked it's way around her throat and was choking her in the night. I could not go down for a follow up visit without being sold something. Whether it was a new round of pills, ear cleaner, ointment, new cone, etc. The worst part was when I brought my dog down 3 weeks later to have her stitches out. They took them out as far as I was aware until a week after I felt a stitch still in her ear, along with 4 others that were partially healed over and never removed. I called down and they offered to to bring her down again to take them out. No apology and I can only assume it would have been to sell me something again. I've only been to a few vets but this was absolutely the worst. Read Less

We have two Shih tzus, age four, that have been coming to Burch Creek Animal Hospital for the past few months. Our little girl was pregnant and Burch Creek was very helpful during that time so for that I will give them two stars. However, our last 3 visits have been irritating to say the least and have put a bad taste in my mouth about this facility.    We had to bring in our boy in November for what we thought was an ear ache. He yelped when you would touch his ears, pick him up, when he jumped off our bed, etc. we took him in a few days after symptoms started showing because they didn't have any immediate availability despite our dog being in extreme pain, but were told that after the Dr did an ear test (that was heartbreaking to watch) there was no sign of infection so the pain must be caused by a pulled muscle in his neck. He was put on pain pills that made him sick and we were told to come back into the hospital when his rx was empty if he was still showing signs of pain. 10 days later our poor guy was still yelping, and our usually very active dog was now to the point of not even picking up his head and would only lay around. When I brought him back in a new Dr did another ear exam (again, it was heartbreaking to watch) and told me he DID have an ear infection. Actually, 2! One extreme case in his right ear and one in his left as well that wasn't quite as bad. I was furious. Burch Creek then charged me for the entire second visit, as well as an ear ache rx on top of the pain killers and the ear exam from our previous visit. Our poor guy was in pain for almost two weeks because their Dr didn't do his job when we took him in the first time and I was out a few hundred dollars.    I forgave this, hoping it was just a bad occurrence because I was so happy with them during our girls pregnancy. However, today I brought in both of my dogs for grooming at Burch Creek (they have been there before) and was told I needed to provide vaccination reports for one of my dogs. Both of my dogs have been groomed there for vaccinations and groomings, and on their first grooming visit I paid for them to both be fully vaccinated in the Burch Creek System because I knew I would lose the hard copy proof. Well, they had no record for one of my pups in the system so now I had to pay another $100 for vaccinations AGAIN.    After these past few visits I will not waste any more time or money bringing my dogs here again. It seems to me as if lately they have cared less and less about the welfare of your pets and more about how much money they can get you for. It is a shame because I truly enjoyed the convenience of this place and recommended it to many of my friends as well as four different families who adopted the liter of puppies. I am so frustrated about my last few visits, and very frustrated that I left visibly unhappy and was never spoken to about any of these matters. I will take my dogs to a facility that cares enough to keep record and thoroughly does their job correctly from now on. Read Less
