Honestly, i am surprised this place had such low ratings! My dog was bitten by another dog and during our visit both the veteranerian and his assistant were SO SWEET to her. (Bonus points, they were kind to me as well...I was a little bit of a mess....) they let me know up front what the cost would be to stitch her up and were professionals the entire time. We brought our hamster hear, after showing signs of wet tail (a sickness that can kill them quickly). The vet tech was nice, weighed him and seemed to care. The vet did not. She called his name weird, said he was a pain, told him to hold still, wouldn’t listen to our concerns, and talked down to us. After I did research (once we left), I realized she prescribed the wrong medicine. (He needed an antibiotic, and she gave him something for ‘digestion’). She didn’t even know hamster’s needed protein, and they could have boiled eggs. An online community recommended baby food and syringed water. Three days later, he passed away. He died in our hands because she didn’t believe us. Because this ‘vet’ didn’t know a thing about hamsters. We’re heartbroken over losing our boy. Do not ever come here. There’s an animal hospital in Salt Lake, or an exotic vet in Orem, they’re incredible. Don’t waste your time here. Don’t risk your pets life. Read Less

Worst experience ever!!!! They are far more worried about taking your credit card than treating your pet! The vet suggested I put my pup down and then refused to do anything further after I mentioned getting a second opinion. He had zero empathy. My dog was running a high fever and was in pain until I could get her into another clinic the next day with zero meds to support because it might “interfere with the next doctor’s treatment plan”. I have no idea why the rating was so low for these people! We had an amazing experience. They took outstanding care of my dog. She was treated immediately was done within an hour and yes the bill was pricey but no more than my regular vet. The desk help were great, The veterinarian assistant was phenomenal. My wife went in two weeks ago because my dog was throwing up. The staff was unbelievably nice and didn’t pressure her into paying for things our dog didn’t need. Tonight I had to take my dog back in for new symptoms, and again the staff was incredible and didn’t pressure me into getting things my dog didn’t need. I can honestly say I have no idea why there are such bad reviews. We had a different assistant and doctor both times and they were all amazing. Just make sure to have the ability to pay when you take your animal in, they do not have payment plans. The prices aren’t outrageous and are understandable for being a urgent care. This place is a joke! I'll give it to the vet tech up front she was awesome and felt like she somewhat cared for my dog until she was excited of the breed of ours and said she had the same one that was 5 months old. So while she takes us back to the room (mind you I still an freaking out and unsure of why my dog is struggling to breathe) she pulls out her phone to show us pics of her dog! Like um can we not? I want my dog to feel better thanks. Then the vet came in and she was terrible. The only thing she cared about is a big price list of stupid things she could do to "hopefully find" what was wrong with him. Then only AFTER my husband lost his patience did she say we could just start with sedation and go from there instead of the million things she wanted to do for no reason. My experience could have not been better. The staff was helpful and friendly. I was nervous about going here due to some negative reviews but glad I gave them a chance. I had some worries about my dog that needed to be addressed quick and my normal vet would not be able to help me for days. I visted this place at 7 in the morning one day and the nurse who attended us was just so nice, polite and helpful. She gave our dog a quick look and gave us recommendations and what we should do. She had the best attitude despite the fact she had to wake up to help us and that our dog was not polite at the time. Loved this place. Read Less

My dog was attacked by another dog in an introduction that went wrong. Pet Urgent Care was able to see him right away and the Vet was very kind and took good care of him. The cost was very reasonable and comparable to what I would have paid at my regular vet if they'd been open. - tbh I think people freak out about vet bills because they're used to what their own health insurance covers when they have to go to the doctor as a human ;) When I took my dog in to get his drainage tubes out, I do wish the vet tech would have given me more details on what to expect next, but he may have been new. When I called in a couple days later with questions though the other tech on the phone was super helpful and even took the time to ask the Vet to clarify a few things when she wasn't sure of the answer to my question. That help alone made up for the previous tech not giving me enough info - but again he may have been new and there was this weiner dog running all over the office at the time which was distracting too (not his fault, it was a waiting customer...). DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!!! This places is out to get you for your money. I took my dog into this urgent care because he had an anal gland abscess. First off it took 30 minutes to get into a room, second it took the doctor at lease another 30 min to come into the room. He took about 1 minute with my dog and said that he would need surgery to fix them problem. The total cost was going to be $500. Not wanting my dog to be in pain I agreed. Then they said they had to do blood work before they could put him under. 45 Min later they came back with the blood work and said that my dog had Liver disease, Kidney disease and pancreatitis and that they could not fix the abscess UNLESS they kept him for a couple days to give him IV fluids to flush his system and then preform the surgery after that.They told me that would be around $900 at least. I declined and asked them to give my dog a dose of antibiotics until I could get him into his vet on Monday they made me wait another 30 min just to get that and pay. After all that I spent $275 for them to do nothing but give my dog an injection unless I was willing to spend $900. I was resistant to go here because of the reviews but my dog was in a lot of pain. I should have listened to the reviews and not gone. They will help you out but only if you give them your money, and lots of it. I took him to his vet this morning and they just put him on an oral antibiotic and pain medication, he did not need surgery to fix his abscess, just some medicine. He also has a parasite which caused his blood work to be abnormal. Even with the parasite though the vet said that he did not have any of the things the Urgent Care vet said. There was something in my dogs throat and they wanted to do bloodwork! To top it off it took me 45 minutes to finally get into the back room and another 15 for the vet to finally come in. They charge 75 when you walk through the door basically and I didn't find this place useful at all. Both our puppies caught parvo so and this was the only place open on Christmas. They wanted to charge us 15000 to treat our dying dogs. The technician was very unprofessional and she wouldn't even touch our dogs or even be in the same room as them. The doctor wasn't helpful, and every time we asked a question she would make us feel dumb by insulting us instead of answering. They gave our dogs little treatment which didn't help at all because today our dogs are much worse. I don't recommend taking any pet here because they aren't sincere or professional in any way. All they want is money, so I don't think it's a good idea to take your pet somewhere like this, because they clearly don't have your best interest in hand. Read Less

Some/most of the staff working here are not empathetic or professional. This has been my experience all three times I've had to go. The most recent was rather upsetting, I brought in my cat that had died within the last few minutes trying to see if he could be revived and determine what happened. They were very cool and uncaring. I understand there wasn't much they could do, but they treated his poor little body disrespectfully and weren't kind to me. I've visit this location 2 times and am blown away with their service! One of my dogs opened a bottle of ibuprofen around 10:30pm and I rushed here and was immediately helped! I was so thankful she could be treated at that time of night and the cost was reasonable. My second visit, was just as successful. We woke up to a swollen jaw on my other dog on a Saturday. We were referred to the urgent care. Our dog needed surgery and was done within an hour of our arrival. The dr. was thorough about educating me on medications and care for my pup post surgery. When it comes to my fur babies I will pay ANY price for their health. Lucky for me, they don't take advantage of that here, and even on a Saturday my invoice was less than anticipated when all was said and done. I feel they truly care about me and my babies They have a passion for animals and it shows in their work. Everyone there is so kind and gentle and loving toward EVERY animal, they make stressful situations much easier to handle when you know your pet is in GREAT hands! Read Less

I should give one star, but I will give two because they pumped my sisters cats stomach from being poisoned. We came to find out she actually didn't ingest the toxic poison that we thought she did, so maybe the deserve only one star.  BUT that same night a small dog who needed a simple procedure to pop it's eye back in place ended up losing its eye completely and needed overnight surgery to remove the eye because the staff has ABSOLUTELY  NO IDEA how to assess emergencies. If a dog comes in with a limping leg, and then a dog is brought in with its poor eyeball hanging out from trauma ten minutes later YOU HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF THE MORE CRITICAL EMERGENCY REGARDLESS OF WHO WAS THERE FIRST! The women with the puppy who had the eye injury were extremely distraught and were sharing information about how addressing the injury in a timely manner would save the dogs vision and all the employee said was that they were very busy. Heartless and cold. I couldn't believe how careless and lazy the assistants were up at the front desk and this has been an ongoing issue at this location for years. They are severely undertrained and understaffed.They have changed the name over the years but the vet is still the same strange lady. Another woman came in with her adorable pug who mysteriously lost the ability to walk with her hind legs suddenly and within 15 minutes they gave the woman the only option of killing her!? What the hell??? Both the women with the eye dog couldn't believe how things were being handled and they were about to walk out the door to head north to one of the after hours clinics in salt lake when the vet came out to help them.  By that time so much time had passed (4 hours) there was no way to save the puppies eye. My first experience was in 2009 or so with this clinic, my boyfriends cat was not treated or helped, he ended up passing. Then a few years later my friend brought his cat in for an emergency and they did not help then either.Please please go to salt lake/ sandy if you care about your furbaby. I know this is the only place in utah valley with late hours, but they do a horrible job and are jaded and rude. They are not 24 hours either. Please head north, the time spent traveling to a better clinic is worth it, otherwise you will just be crying and waiting at this clinic in orem for hours instead. Read Less

Took our puppy in last night because she couldn't breath. Dr. Nemanic was very rude , short and incompetent! She claimed our puppy had an obstruction 2x the size of her heart in her esophagus. I tried to tell her it looked like inflammation/pneumonia and the vet got very snappy with me. Then she wanted to try and send us to another facility to have it removed. We chose to drive 1.5 hours to Dr. Anderson in Delta UT (who is AMAZING BTW) and he agreed that it was indeed pneumonia and that she was misdiagnosed and potentially put at a sever risk. 1 star is to many! Run!!!!!!! Took my puppy here for treatment and regret every second of it. Went there for a puppy that was very sick, she was treated with anti nausea medication and was sent home to die, with dewormers for the rest of the litter. I was told I could leave her there overnight for observation, no. Not the way you were letting my baby flop around in your hands. Thanks, but I wasn't there for the rest of my litter nor was I there for freaking deworming. I was there to treat my ill puppy. I asked questions and was told I was asking for, "guarantees", no lady, I am asking for what I am paying for. Needless to say worse case scenario I was told we would need a $2,000 surgery from a specialist. Took her into her regular vet the next day and got a bottle anti-nausea to take home with me (why wasn't I given this there?) as well as antibiotics. Thank god she is doing 100% better, thanks to her amazing vet!!! I regret stepping foot in this place, clearly this is about money not the animal and you need better vets with a little more knowledge. What a waste of time and money!!!!! I feel completely ripped off!!!!!!! Does somebody want to make this right? Who is held accountable? Doubtful, you already got my money. I basically paid for nothing! This urgent care gouges you with their prices and doesn't seem to care that much about the animals. They used anesthesia unnecessarily (which is dangerous for our extra small dog), and misdiagnosed her. We decided to get a second opinion from our regular vet, and he was extremely displeased with the care they had given her and we were told how dishonest this urgent care location is. Dr. Heather Nemanic was condescending when I asked questions about the 6 medicines she prescribed my dog (for vomiting and diarrhea). She also wizzed over everything as if I had gone to veterinarian school. When I asked questions her body language and tone of voice were as if I was questioning her status or education. When I asked her how to give the pills to my dog when he wouldn't eat, she responded in a standoffish way, "you are going to have to force feed him". Umm... Duh, but how do you do that? Do I need to mount his head to a vice grip and open his mouth with a leverage bar? Then shove the pill down his throat? What are your tips for doing that? The rest of the staff was quite nice, unfortunately it only takes one moldy piece of bread to make the whole loaf bad. Do not go here! Read Less

After seeing the reviews, I was nervous to take my fur-baby in...but we had no choice. It was the only place open on new year's eve. We were treated very kindly. Our puppy was also treated with love and compassion. The bill was substantially lower than I expected and worth every penny to make sure our puppy was okay. As we left the told us we could come back at no additional charge if we needed to. Thank you for being willing to treat our dog on a holiday, at 2 in the morning. We have been here at least six times over the years, probably more, with our dogs and cats. They have always taken good care of our pets in these moments of crisis, which always seem to happen on a weekend or holiday. While expensive, I'm grateful to have somewhere to go when an emergency comes up. The vets we've seen have usually been female and kind, and we had a male in his fifties or sixties once- he seemed gruff but competent. Most of the support staff have been obvious animal lovers and friendly. I'm saddened by the negative experiences others have had, but with the positive experiences I've had, I will still go here. My aged parents and I took their dog in on a Saturday. She had been limping and although not urgent, my mother was concerned. I felt the vet was very thorough and helpful. She took time with us and kindly explained correct diet restrictions and options for their overweight dog. She gave us some pain meds to last the weekend and faxed over the exam details to our regular vet to be seen on Monday. My parents overfeed their dog and give treats way too often. I was grateful that she explained the consequences to my parents so they finally understood. The regular vet always seemed to downplay the overfeeding of the dog and would just prescribe pain meds. I'm sorry for the others that have had bad experiences here, with severe consequences, but with our basic needs, our visit was very positive. Read Less

I wish it was possible to give no stars. As someone who works in customer service, I am normally very patient and understanding as a customer. This was outrageous though!! Worst experience I've ever had. I feel sick. Not only were they not helpful, they made us wait in the patient room for nearly 2 hours (after waiting in the waiting room for another 2), but they also did not seem to really know what they were doing, and were not gentle with our dog. The vet came to do his "examination" with BLOOD on his hands from a dog he was doing surgery on before! We will never go back and we will discourage others from going. We were overcharged and given four different medications for our dog who had bloody diarrhea. We could hear everyone in the back while we sat and waited and actually heard the nurse tell the vet that "there didn't seem to be anything really wrong" with our dog. He came in, asked us 2 questions, felt her stomach and that was it. They gave her an iv for dehydration but it was administered so poorly that she was whimpering/screaming in pain the entire time and they gave her back to us covered in blood! Horrible experience. After my dog was bit by a baby rattlesnake, I took her here because I was told by a Vet it was my only option to get the anti venom shot. They downsized the situation telling me it probably was not a rattle snake and if it was a rattler it probably didn't have full venom. I knew it was a rattler (I was present when the incidence occurred) but trusted them my dog did not need the anti venom shot. After a few hours of med's and a few hundred dollars later they sent me home. Later, While at home, she started frothing at the mouth, went semi-conscious, and her neck started swelling up like a football. I immediately called back this awful place and explained the situation. They told me, "The dog is probably going septic and just going to die." I replied that I should bring the dog back in and they said, "If you think you need to bring her in make sure to call first." Wow, I think that is why I was calling! Luckily, I was able to get her in with a decent vet and save her life. It was a very long hard road of recovery because she wasn't given the anti venom shot here. I also later learned that baby rattlesnake venom doesn't take full effect until several hours after the bite....guess the clinic staff didn't know that either! Pretty sad that I could have lost my dog and saved a great deal of money because they did not treat her properly. I took my cat here on a Sunday morning. The front desk girl had quite an attitude. The vet, though very nice, does not seem to practice normal veterinary medicine. I understand they everyone has different beliefs, but they weren't very informative of what they were going to be giving my pet, nor are they upfront on pricing. They estimated this and estimated that and said I would get a bill at the end. Once home and reviewing the bill it states that the shot given is approved for use in humans only. She also gave me a 30 day supplement to give to my cat, ensuring that it will vastly improve his internal issues. After giving him the supplement he immediately got sick. I called my normal vet the next day and she was unaware of what this product is. I was eventually able to get an answer from the urgent care vet. It is a supplement sold by an MLM company. I can't help but wonder if she is distributing for this company and climbing the ranks by "selling" this product for her vet patients. I told them that my vet strongly recommended i not give my cat the medicine, but they wouldn't take it back. Read Less

I would NEVER recommend anyone going to this Veterinary Hospital. We took our 3 year old dog into them thinking he had a broken leg. We spent almost $500 and were told that if he was not better within 4 to 5 day's that we had the options of either amputating his leg or putting him down. This was the most devastating news ever! We couldn't believe that we had a healthy dog a few hours prior to that. He couldn't even hardly walk he kept falling down every time he tried to walk or move, it was heart breaking. We asked the vet to wrap his paw so he didn’t cut it, when he tried to walk because it was dragging on the ground. So we were sent home with steroids and a muscle relaxer. The next week we took him to our regular vet and found out some real answers. They did blood work on him and a full work up and it only cost us $74 and got more results and spent more time with the vet and was treated better. Come to find out he has a severe infection in his leg which is causing the swelling on his nerves in his leg. If we would have listened to that vet we could have lost our dog or we would have amputated his leg for no reason. We will NEVER take our dogs back to these people again. Read Less
