Animal Health VIPS (Veterinary Integrative & Performance Specialists)

Park City, Utah
General Info

Animal Health VIPS is one of the few Integratively (holistic) oriented specialty veterinary practices in the US.  AH VIPS (formerly Animal Health Options) has been offering integrative therapies and approaches to body-wide and life-long health since 1989. Dr. Henneman was certified in chiropractic in 1992 with the certification number of 21.  Since then we have now grown to three veterinarians, service the states of: UT, ID, WY, NV, AZ, WA, MA, VT, NH, NY & HI.  We provide not only integrative therapies such as: acupuncture (Traditional Chinese), chiropractic, Tui Na, classical homeopathy, herbal medicine (Western and Traditional Asian) and nutrition, but also more Western services such as rehabilitation (Dr. Henneman is the only veterinarian in the US and Europe who is Board-certified in both canine and equine sports medicine/rehabilitation), diagnostic ultrasound, The Lameness Locator (a horse lameness gait analysis system), thermal imaging, monovalent and bivalent vaccination, vaccine titers, cardiology (Dr. Hadlock is Boarded ABVP and was the senior cardiologist at IDEXX Cardiopet for over 20 years) and equine dentistry.

Team
Dr. Harper grew up in Corinne, UT near Brigham City. While growing up he milked cows, raised calves, exhibited market hogs in 4-H and participated in livestock judging. After returning from his LDS mission, he did his pre-vet at Utah State University from 2002-2005. It was there that he met his wonderful wife, Amy. He completed his veterinary training at Washington State in 2009. During his 6 years of practice, he has practiced at mixed animal practices both in Washington and Northern Utah. In June of 2014, Dr. Josh completed his certification in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy - VSMT - (also called veterinary chiropractic) at Healing Oasis (one of the top training programs for veterinarians) in Sturtevant, WI. While at Healing Oasis, he so impressed the faculty that he was offered a position (by invitation only) to take the instructor course in VSMT. He is also certified in Veterinary Acupuncture at the Chi Institute in Florida. His clinical interests include (but are not limited to) functional neurology, structural realignment, epigenetics, nutrigenomics and equine balanced dentistry. His personal interests include basketball, playing and writing songs, teaching, and involvement in his church's activities. Dr. Josh and Amy are also the parents of 4great children.

Dr. Kim has been invaluable at helping me with both my dogs and horse. She was able to diagnose a shoulder muscle tear in my young dog that a western vet missed and give guidance on how to rehabilitate him for the best outcome. My other dog, an older hound, has some back troubles that Kim has been able to periodically adjust and make her more comfortable. The same dog also recently suffered a painful neck injury while under anesthesia getting her teeth cleaned, which Kim ea...sily found and was able to correct. Finally, my mare was diagnosed by a western vet at 15 years old with arthritis in her foot. I spent 5 years having lots of trouble with her being painful and somewhat dangerous under saddle before finally having Kim out 2 years ago. Kim said the troubles were in her neck and not her leg and was able to make her rideable immediately. I have Kim out 1-2 times a year for chiropractic and acupuncture treatments and last time she treated both the horse and dog on the farm call. I am SO grateful to have her as a vet! We are so extremely grateful for all of Dr. Debbie Hadlock's amazing support and guidance. Our dog needed knee surgery, we were very lucky to be referred to Dr. Debbie and we were able to see her right away. I had never met such a kind, caring, compassionate veterinarian until we met Dr. Debbie. She is a very special person who truly cares about all of her patients and their owners. I have learned so much from Dr. Debbie, she quickly handled our knee surgery situation and came up with a plan, addressed diet and addressed behavioral issues. All of this has helped tremendously as we prepared for surgery and during recovery. We are looking forward to many more years having Dr. Debbie take care of our fur baby. Thank you again Dr. Debbie, we look forward to seeing you soon!! Read Less

Dr. Henneman is the kind of person you just want to listen to for two weeks straight, because she is such a wealth of knowledge. I brought her out to see a horse with very old injuries (basically a rescue), and I was feeling rather hopeless about his condition. Dr. Henneman has helped me figure out a path towards his success, and given me straight answers. Calling Animal Health VIPS has been the best decision I could have made for my horse. Read Less

I have a very ill Border Collie with an adrenal gland pheoychromcytoma. In short a dreadful condition. I opted against a surgery offered at a well-known veterinary teaching hospital out of state. After one telephone consultation with Dr. Kim Henneman, and one visit, the difference in Chloe is stunning...and almost not to be believed. However, it is not my imagination these many areas of improvement with Chloe are real and true. Dr. Kim is kind, dynamic, and brilliant. Quite complex combination of virtues! Not only is Chloe resting easier, and enjoying her life...but Dr. Kim has helped steady my heart as well. She is an Every-Day Angel to both the four-leggers and two-leggers who love them~* Read Less

Dr Kim is amazing. My Sonakih has some pretty complicated issues and I have to put great faith and admiration on a vet who can impress me so much on the first visit, and clearly shares my believes. Was so impressed she didn't want to throw many things at her at once and just work at her issues slowly s little at a time. And my dog's reaction to her told it all! Sonakih loves Dr Kim and confirmed it will be well worth traveling all the way from Brigham to use her! We look forward to working with her for the long haul to keep my partner and best friend at the top of her game! Thanks Dr Kim! Read Less
