I recently had to take my dog in to the clinic for a couple issues and I cannot say enough great things about the staff there! She had to be seen a couple times and each time the veterinarians were very kind and gentle with her! They took their time with the exam and answered all of my questions so I understood what was happening.They called to see how things were going at home and to ask how she was feeling! I stumbled upon Silver Creek Animal Clinic one Friday evening when one of my dogs had an allergic reaction to a vaccine he had had several times before. He had the shot at 4:30 in the afternoon and for some reason this time his nose started swelling and he was having trouble breathing. Within an hour I called the vet that had administered the injection (not at Silver Creek Animal Clinic) and was told to get to an emergency vet clinic in town (it would have taken a long time to get there). At the time I lived in Molalla so I searched around and found Silver Creek Animal Clinic had emergency services after hours so I called them. The on call vet said she would meet me as soon as I could get to the clinic (we met at the clinic since where she was coming from and where I was at it would be the quickest). She administered the needed injection and then called on my dog several times that night and thru the weekend. That was years ago and since then, I have had several of their vets and each one is very caring and they still sometimes call and check on my animals. I work in the medical industry and that is not the usual. I will never go anywhere else. As a matter of fact, I work in Portland and have moved farther away from Silverton and still make the drive to get my animals and then drive to Silverton. They are the most caring group of doctors and support staff I have ever seen. I use them for all my vet needs, regular appointments, after hour emergencies and they even came to my home to put down one of my aging pets. Their prices for services are VERY reasonable!! Our little old Yorkie broke the bones in her paw. Since she is so old and small, her paw wasn't healing. Over a 5 month period, my little Bella received the best care from everyone from the doctors to the front office staff at Silver Creek Animal Clinic. I have taken all of my pets to Silver Creek for the past seven years. They always take the time to both completely understand my concerns and to ensure that I understand my options. They also are diligent in explaining the potential costs of the choices I make. My pets have seen a number of the doctors and I have been happy with every one. One of my dogs was recently diagnosed with cancer. It's heart wrenching to see a happy and healthy dog suddenly get that sick. The folks at Silver Creek have been helpful and empathetic. We have used Dr. Stewart and Silvercreek Animal ever since we moved to Oregon in 1979 for our horses and cats. Dr. Mike has helped 3 of my horses over the Rainbow Bridge over the years (most recently 2 weeks ago). His compassion and kindness will always be appreciated. We can generally get same day appointments for the cats if it is needed. They have always been there for emergencies. My only wish is that they would become a "no declaw" clinic. Read Less

Silver Creek has been my family's vet clinic for years. When I moved to Salt Lake 7 years ago I tried to find one around me but never liked any office as much as this one and decided after a few bad experiences to just travel to Park City for vet visits. I moved to Farmington a year ago and, again, tried to find a closer vet only to have a terrible experience. I won't take my dogs anywhere else even though it's a 45 minute drive each way. Dr Artz is so kind and caring even with my nervous little terrier and all the staff is wonderful. Prices comparable if not better than most vets in SLC and the Wasatch front but with better service. My dog Jack was hit by a car and needed immediate emergency care. Dr Lisa Pasquerello, and her staff had been alerted and when we arrived, we were seen immediately. Jack's injuries were severe and complicated. However, throughout his ongoing recovery Dr. Lisa and the whole staff have provided compassionate care and support for Jack and me. They have been available whenever I have needed them, either by telephone or a house visit. One of the tech's, Matt Frey, came to my house three times a day to help Jack outside when he was recovering. My rescued puppy  was spayed here (recommendation and free voucher from Rescue organization) and it was a very stress-free and clean outcome. I followed up a month or so later on a phone call when she was sick and they helped me over the phone with practical advice, that helped her get better! We also had an emergency today,  and they were very calm and accommodating in seeing her and putting me (with my first dog as an adult) at ease. They answered all my questions and provided advice, choices and education (without feeling rushed or incompetent). During business hours the phone is answered promptly.  You can tell everyone loves the animals, understands the stress of their people, and knows what they are doing. We have seen both Dr. Stiens and Dr. Artz.. I am typically one to shop around for services, especially when there are more than one available locally, but I have no interest in doing so for a vet after my three experiences here. Thank you. I had a very sick dog her name was Chewy, she was the love of are life, her and her sister there are 4 legged CHILDREN. I cant not believe some one would have any thing bad to say about this clinic I drive from Taylorsville just to make sure that Dr. Tyler Stiens & his staff is the only vet that treats my girls. he is the best vet to ever walked the face of this earth. Chewy had a rare blood infection, it was called auto immune hematodic anemia, she had a 3 % chance to make it through the first 24 hours, with the love from Megan(vet tech) and Dr. Tyler as Chewy knew him, and all the staff up there my dog lived through kidney failure 3 times and liver failure 1 time, because of Dr. Stiens loving heart i was able to keep Chewy live for another 5 happy years, Camping, fishing. the sadist day of are live is when she went into permanent Kidney failure there was nothing more any one could do, we had to say good by to my best friend and daughter, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE WORK AND TIME YOU TOOK WITH US TO MAKE CHEWY HAPPY AND HEALTH FOR THAT EXTRA 5 YEARS!! When called with a reminder of my appointment I was given the wrong time. I showed up at the time they said to come and was told that my appointment was later. I asked if I could leave them there for the hour to which they said no, when in the past I have always been able to drop off my dogs and pick them up later.I was flustered at this point as I had struggled and made arrangements to get there at the incorrect time that they told me to be there and even while witnessing my struggle and frustration they offered no assistance or solution to the problem THEY had created. They couldn't keep them there for 1 HOUR?!? Not even a "sorry" or any attempt to come up with a solution. I had to cancel my appointment and they were equally unhelpful in the reschedule.I had been a happy customer for nearly 10 years there but I am done with them. I have had numerous complaints from friends that took their animals there that the level of service had changed, prices were skyrocketing, and other complaints re the service, and I am not one of the unhappy customers. I have just returned from Silver Creek Animal Clinic. The trip itself was an hour plus rounf trip. When I got to the clinic, 10 minutes early, I did the check in thing and I was asked to take a seat, "it will be just a minute or two". I had made an appointment. 50 minutes later, I still had not seen the vet, nor been advised that the vet was running late and in the mean time trying to sooth the poor unfortunate kitten that was confined in the travel crate. Most of my time spent, uselessly, was in the waiting area. Then an assistant, I assume, finally ushered me into an exam room. 15 minutes later, I put my tramatized kitten back into the crate and left. No services received. My goodbye from a front counter consisted of "I'm sorry." Truly the most useless statement in the English language.The moral of this story? Don't go there if you intend that your pet will be seen at the appointed time. I read a few of the negative reviews and was so frusterated by the sophmoric approach of the complaints that I wanted to say...1)if you request an xray 2 times and don't get what you want you have the right and responsibilty to get another opinion. If you choose to blame a good doctor for injury that could have happened in the days or hours after his exam you are an irresponsible pet owner. 2) IF HAVING THE DOCTOR WHO GRADUATED TOP OF THE CLASS IS A PRIORITY THEN YOU SHOULD DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE YOU SLANDER SOMEONE WHO GRADUATED AND WAS GIVEN FULL HONORS OF THE DEGREE. 3) A vet clinic is just like a human ER or HUMAN doctor office...if you take your kid during flu, cold, H1N1, and RSV season your kid is going to get something even if they had shots. Dr. Stiens and several others there have cared for my animals. I appreciate the fact that my pets do not have to suffer stupid unnecessary test for something that can be easily assessed by a GOOD Vet and a good old fashioned exam. I appreciate that they don't see me as a dollar sign when I walk thru the door and that my pets are cared for above and beyond what has been expected. Our dog Sunny is a 8 month old Lab puppy that Dr. Stiens saved with a basic exam of her hips, took xrays to confirm what he already knew so that we could get her in to surgery as soon as possible. She is recovering beautifully and will resume her training as my 3 yr old daughters seizure/therapy dog. He is a wonderful HEALER and a KIND person. Doesn't deserve the slander here. Read Less

I have been going to Sliver Creek Clinic for just a little over a year now due to the fact that I followed the ""Best"" Vet I have ever had ( Dr Stiens) . He has given my two dog the care they have required since they both were affected by the dog food recall. If he didn't react and treat them correctly I truly believe they wouldn't be here today and healthy. Dr Stiens and the staff truly care about the well being of animals.
