I am not from Utah and moved here recently. I have 2 dogs and they are my life! I went to 2 other clinics in the area & was not impressed. A lot of people say this clinic is expensive but YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. While living in Payson I trusted the staff at West Mountain Veterinary Hospital for our furry child. The Vet was very personable and I felt that he was looking out for our dog. Good location and easy to get to. I do recommend West Mountain if you are looking for a Vet in the area. Sign up on their website to get discounts from time to time as well. Read Less

Can I give this clinic a review less than 1 star? So I took my pet in for a routine examination and over the phone they said it would be no more than $45.00 and then after I picked up my cat I had to pay just over $250.00. I also went to visit the office one Sunday afternoon and noticed several a staff member disposing of dead animals in bags in the dumpster behind the building because the trash collection is on Monday morning and these animals where all supposed to be cremated. Probably charging those other loving families upwards of $85.00 and up to dispose of them humanly and all the Doctor is doing is tossing peoples loved pets in the trash. What a jerk. They were the only vet in all of Utah county that was able to help me out in an emergency! I was very relieved that they helped my goat out even after my normal vet basically blew me off. The office staff have been great to work with and I feel like she is in good hands. Read Less

Our chihuahua suffered a back injury. Dr. Evans & the staff at Mountain West Veterinary Hospital got us in quickly and were so kind & professional. Dr. Evans took time to go over all of our options before settling on a treatment plan that would work for both our injured chihuahua & our familiy. The staff took excellent care of our dog setting her up on the road to recovery & giving her every opportunity for a positive outcome. I'm fairly new to the area and new to having dogs. I have always had a great experience here. Dr. Evans is great. He even returned my call on a weekend night when I had a concern. The staff is all very friendly. I've left my dogs here several times for boarding. We all know our pets are members of our family. I'm super comfortable leaving my dogs with them. They seem excited to see my two pups and remember them from the last time we were there. 5 stars :) Read Less

These guys are great! They always take wonderful care of our dogs whether it's visiting the vet or having them boarded when we can't take our pups with us. I also never feel like my wallet took a massive hit when I go there. Great prices. Read Less

This place is a joke! They do not care about animals at all! It's all about money!! A friend paid them an outrageous amount, because they misdiagnosed his pet. The animal went through a number of surgeries, which were unnecessary. They eventually had to put the animal down. I do not recommend this place. Read Less

New to this area, took my dog in for vaccinations and boarding. Staff was extremely friendly, met the doctor and he was great! I checked out the boarding area, it was clean and comfortable - was able to bring my own food and blankets. I definitely will use them again! Read Less

Vet staff was wonderful, doctor was awesome as always! Their prices are far less expensive than the other local vets, they just quote you what you can expect, my friends have said that others hide costs that they hit you with when you go in for your appointment. **Took my dog to the doctor today, awesome experience! Made arrangement over a week in adance to board my dog there. They neglected to tell me they didn't open until pm on Saturday. When I hung up I said "see you Saturday morning", they said ok. No one showed up until almost 2pm on saturday. Day 1 of vacation ruined. Read Less

NOT VERY INFORMATIVE... I took my cat in to be neutered and declawed. They were very vague on when I should pick it up. It also would have been nice to have some information BEFORE-HAND on what I would need to care for my newly declawed cat. Instead they ran through some information, very quickly, while I was wrestling my cat to calm down in the lobby, waiting to pay them hundreds of dollars post surgery. FYI, you will NEED a kennel to keep it in. Unless you really want to hold it all day and night so it doesn't take it's bandages off and bleed allover your furniture and floor. Plus, you will need to put paper, not litter, in the littler box. Which is really hard to do while trying to keep your cat from freaking out about the bandages on it's feet they sent it home with. Two for two. I took my dog there for a check, She checked out and was healthy according to the vet. Two weeks later she was dead with renal failure ($500). I took another dog there for a check, and he was healthy according to the vet. He got stones, the doc said he should have them flushed. $1200! Two weeks later, stones. The doc said he needs surgery. $2400! Two weeks later...can you guess? STONES! He gets a blood panel done (shouldnt that have been done before the first surgery?) Cancer! We decided to put him out of his misery. As we're saying goodbye we ask the doc if he would make the same decision, he tells us he would have done it before the first surgery! He didnt let us know how serious his ailments were and that it might be better to make that decision before we spent $3600! Oh, and the blood work and euthenization? $750! Merry frickin Christmas kids, dogs dead...again and the doc stole all your Christmas presents! Good doc for farms...terrible for domesticated animals. Don't take your pets there!Read Less

The groomer there is one of the best I have ever seen. She takes excellent care of my dog. In general, he doesn't like people but he likes her. She also takes extra care to do an excellent job. I would highly recommend her. Read Less

Our dog broke his hind leg on Christmas Eve. We had been to various vets in Utah county in the past (but were never really impressed). We ended up taking our dog Bruce to West Mountain Vet because they were close by and open. What a fantastic facility! Not only were they friendly and helpful, they did a great job at repairing Bruce's broken leg. The downside was the cost (which is to be expected with a broken bone... though I did find out afterwards that they were one of the cheaper vets in the valley) We will be returning here in the future for all veterinary needs. Stay away from this place! The owner is ruthless. He let one of his veterinarians go when his wife was nearly 9 months pregnant. He then immediately purchased a $40,000 boat for himself. The facilities are very nice and up to date, but the medicine practiced is old school. Syringes are resterilezed and reused and many of the injectable drugs are expired. The doctor is far more concerned about his personal wealth than about welfare of animals. He is jealous of anyone making more money than him. He cuts corners wherever possible and charges as if he operated a specialty practice. A clinic that is located just down the road has 4 full time veterinarians that actually care about animals. They are doing very well, as West Mountain struggles... Perhaps the public is sending a clear message that this money mongrel has no place in the community. Taking your animal here is simply adding to his empire of selfishness and mediocrity. Read Less
