I took my dog here about a year ago to have some tumors removed, there were some complications in the surgery so they only removed one, but the problem was they never stiched her up properly and I took her back in twice to fix it, but the skin around it died, resulting in me taking her to a different vet and paying $900+ to fix there mistakes! I have a nearly four year old dog that I have only taken to this vet, and I don't have either strong positive or negative opinions about the vet himself, since I just need someone to administer any necessary shots. This location is not taking on any new or inactive patients. The lady at the front desk demanded that I present proof that they had treated my dog two years ago. If I had been able to present proof, my dog could have received her shots there this year. Google gave me the exact dates I was there last, but fortunately, that was not enough circumstantial evidence to make my case. I say fortunately because I was able to make a last minute appointment with another clinic located nearby, and the vet there was really good with my high-strung pet. When I had my dog who had back pain, other vet could not see him so I was so frustrated and panicking but this vet took him right away and took care of him. Dr. Colman is great! He doesn’t over charge and keeps things short and to the point. One problem is because he keeps things really simple he may miss something. I took my 10 year old cat in because she’s lost weight and seemed to be having problems. He said she looked amazing and healthy but when I took her in to a more expensive place they told me she has a heart murmur and her thyroid is having problems. She will need to be on medication and it scared me that we could have gone on without fixing the problem. Read Less

Just took my cat in there because he got into a fight and had his face all torn up. As soon as I walked in I was immediately helped by the receptionists, they looked at him, and then gave me some respectful and insightful advice on how to keep the wound clean. One then preceded to quickly get me some antibiotics without having to go to all the trouble and wait of the vet. She gave me the option of still seeing the vet but I appreciated that it felt like she understood what I was looking for. They are knowledgeable and you can tell that they have cared for many animals. Adding this to the low cost and incredibly low waiting time, I would say that this is the best vet I have ever gone to and will go there for my pets needs in the future!!! All you people leaving BAD reviews of Colemans are pathetic. I have used their services for years and years through all our family pets and I have had the best help and the best care available ANYWHERE. First off having a cat declawed is WRONG that is the worst thing you can ever do to a poor animal. Maybe rethink why you even have a cat??? I have had 5 dogs and 3 cats, all cared for by Colemans and never ever had a hard time with any of these things, Price, Care, Sympathy (when an animal is sick or too old to continue on) Dr. Coleman is the best and should not be given bad ratings because good help is hard to find. or because someone has an axe to grind. They keep their overhead low so they don't have to overcharge their patrons. I am so grateful that they make vet visits and needs affordable! My cat had a UTI and every other vet I called was time-costly, complicated, sometimes painful for my cat, and wracked up to over $100 before the cost of antibiotics. Coleman charged me $15. Done! (I don't know who Eren Jaeger is. I"m Barry). We've been to Colemans about 6 or 7 times for major and minor things. Great guy, great vet. Great prices. Haven't had any staff problems. FANTASTIC! We have a cat that likes to get into scrapes, and every time I turn around he's got an infection. I know what an abscess looks like, and when he needs an antibiotic.....every other vet wanted to charge me the 50 bucks for an exam. He just had one a couple months ago!! Coleman Hospital gave him the shot and some pills to go with it without all the other junk I didn't need. Two days later, he's up and around back to his old self again for a price I could afford. It is official Dr. Kenneth Coleman preformed a C-section on my dog that ultimately killed her. I have the proof I need and want everyone to know to stay away from this man. He left GAUZE inside of my dog that caused a massive infection and killed her. He claims leaving that inside would not have killed her.. have had some negative experiences with the Coleman Veterinary staff. I took my new dog there to get his shots done. He was very scared and Dr. Coleman decided to wrap his leash around his mouth as a muzzle instead of putting a regular muzzle on him. My dog was so scared he pooped all over. He didn't weigh my dog, nor really examine him. We got the shots and left. I have taken my 2 puppies there to get shots and they did ok. Again, no real examination done. We moved and had to get their vet records mailed to us for he new vet. I had to call multiple times for them to finally send it. I then had to call back because I had forgotten a vaccination record for my dog. I asked 2-3 times and they never sent it. The receptionist was really rude anytime I asked her to mail the info. I finally had to have my husband go and pick it up. They also put the day he picked it up as the vaccination date that it needs to be renewed on. I have only a general idea of when his shots are ACTUALLY due. Pay the extra $10 and go to another vet who actually likes dogs and will do an examination. There are plenty in Utah County that are only a little bit more. I wish I'd been wiser. Read Less

I love Dr Coleman, he is a 25 min drive for me and if I absolutely can't make it to him I kick myself because all the vets around me are crooks charging an arm and a leg for every little thing they can. Coleman has always been fair with price and ive never had any problems with anything he's done for me and i have been going to him since 2009. I'll be seeing him first thing in the morning to have my litter looked over. best vet ever, his secretary is nice to me, I really miss both his old ones lots but the new girls have always been very straight forward and to the point which I like. Everything the reviews say about the receptionist at this office is true. After reading the reviews I figured I would be OK because the vet sounds so great. Brandy, the receptionist, doesn't seem to understand the concept of customer service, or that the people calling are bringing in their beloved animals because they are sick and it's an emotional time. Brandy felt the need to stick it to me and make sure I knew that it was a fluke that I got an appointment the same day. Completely unnecessary. I'm still so unbelievably amazed at how mean she was. Does Dr. Coleman not read these reviews? What is going on over there? Holy cow. There isn't an option to give a "no star" review, or I would. I didn't even get a chance to make it there before the staff lived up to their reputation. I'm pretty sure that anything positive posted about the staff is posted by their friends and family. I can't help but be impressed by this Vet and the lovely lady receptionists. Gator, our black lab, had what we thought was a meibomian tumor as diagnosed by Pet Care Animal Hospital in South Jordan (don't ever go there). Dr. Coleman found that it was nothing more than a wart and was able to remove it with ease and hundreds of dollars cheaper than the $900 I was quoted at the other place. Gator was taken care of by loving hands and is going to recover and be back to normal in no time. Thanks again to the doc and receptionists for their help and great work. Dr Coleman was wonderful! He genuinely cared about the concerns I had for my puppy. He took the time to make sure all my concerns were taken care of before I left. What I really loved was he took a sample of the bump my puppy had on her head and tested it right there while we were waiting. None of this.. we need to send it off and have it tested, we will let you know in a week. And then charge me a small fortune for it. My puppy was due for her shots, which I hadnt scheduled but Dr Coleman also took care of that while we were there as well. An office visit, test, and shots cost me $65! Not sure how many other places would even come near to that. The office itself could use some cleaning and updating. Thats the only negative I have. But I left happy.Read Less

I've been reading a lot about a crappy receptionist in other posts and I'm pretty sure she's been replaced.  I called one vet place asking how much it would cost to deworm my dog and it was outrageous. I called Coleman and only ever spoke to the current receptionist. She told me it would cost $6 and it actually only was that much.  She got the vial gave it to me and gave me instructions on how to give it to my dog and even told me that my dog should like the flavor. My dogs worms were gone in 24 hours. She was super friendly and very helpful. Definitely bringing my fur baby back here. Read Less

I would not take your pet anywhere else. My lab needed his dewclaws removed from his front legs because they bothered him with his hiking boots on. Dr Coleman is the best surgeon I have seen for dogs. There are no scars because he did at least a two layer closure of the incisions. I have never seen a veterinarian do that. There was no infection and my dog is much happier wearing hiking boots. Then, there is the pricing for surgery. There is not any veterinarian around that is as reasonable with the cost of care. Colman VC was a preferred Vet of my mothers and she loved the care here.We have taken our dogs to Doc Colman for 10 years now because he is easy on our pocketbook and has always given us fantastic service.The location is not as clean smelling as I would have my office yet the care is phenomenal, our pets have never had any post op infections or complications because of this factor but the strip mall it is in is aged. That's alright with me, we are al aye able to fill our dogs medications and quickly and without much difficulty with exception to some of their earlier closing times. I can't speak highly enough of this vet. In this day and age it is so easy to get super anxious and concerned about anything going wrong with our pets. If you look online everything will tell you "TAKE THEM TO THE VET" no matter what it is. But after being taken advantage of so many times and leaving with a 180 bill for a toenail being removed, this vet is a breath of fresh air. I called yesterday morning about my dog not wanting to lay down. They presented several reasons as well as options. I ended up going in there and picking up medicine for him as it sounded like he just tweaked his back. He is almost 100% this morning. And the whole ordeal cost me $8. Most vets won't tell you anything over the phone and want you to pay 40-60 just to look at your dog for 5 minutes. Beyond impressed. So glad I was referred here. Read Less

We first came to Coleman after friends recommended them, our cat had to have eye surgery and we had to say goodbye to our beloved old lab. They took such good car of our cat as well as the job done on her eye is amazing! What really sets them apart is the compassion they showed us during a tough decision we had to make with our lab. We visited Dr. Coleman's clinic based on recommendation of friends.  We found Dr. Coleman to be caring, compassionate, professional, and friendly.  Unfortunately, the same could not be said about the front office staff.  They pretty much ignored us when we came in, preferring to talk to the customer at the counter.  They were loud and giggly (like they were teens right out of high school) and pretty much uncaring, except when it came to the bill.  We would love to go back to Dr. Coleman, but not until his office staff ups their game. I'd really like to leave positive feedback, but unfortunately I cannot. I had my cat declawed there, and although it was affordable and the procedure appears to have been done correctly, they didn't give me any pain medication for my sweet little kitty! I actually asked for it, and the assistant/receptionist told me, "it's hard to explain, but cats aren't in pain after being declawed." Surprised (but trusting that this girl knew what she was talking about), I took my little girl home and that weekend my cat was in a lot of pain (hiding, crying, wouldn't eat). Coleman Vet was closed so I had to take her to an instacare vet, which gave me the medicine my cat needed .... but my instacare visit cost me TWICE as much as the actual declawing surgery! I went back to Coleman the following Monday and told them what happened, and they stuck to their story that my cat didn't need any pain meds -- nor did they apologize, NOR would they let me see the vet! I asked several times and was told that 'nobody sees him'. I just wanted him to explain it to me, ease my concerns ... like vets should do for their pet owners. Sad experience to know my little kitty was in so much pain and Coleman vet didn't see the necessity in post-surgery medication. If they would like to contact me and explain why this happened, I will consider giving them higher ratings. But until then, I cannot recommend Coleman Veterinary Hospital for surgery ever again. I have never, ever been so disrespected, embarrassed, humiliated in my life. This is nothing against Dr. Coleman. I'm sure he is great. This is about the young receptionist. A lady and her dog were walking in my back yard this morning. My dog saw the lady, and ran up to her dog. My dog has never in his 7 years acted aggressive towards another dog. The lady started screaming and pulling her dog away, which was acting aggressive towards my dog. She was dragging her dog on the ground, while my dog was running around it in circles pouncing around trying to play. After the lady got her dog under control, the dog had a scratch on it's side, and it's nails were bloody. We told her we will pay for the damages because my dog was not on a leash. She took her dog up to Coleman Vet Hospital and they said he will need stitches. I decided to go up and make sure the dog was okay, and to ask the Dr. if the scratch was really from my dog biting him, like the women said. As one of the ladies was explaining the injuries, the young lady at the receptionist desk said, "I'm going to intervene here because a German Shepherd attacked my dog last week. You have to pay the bill and you're not getting out of it. I know what you're trying to do and it's not going to work." While she is saying this, I'm standing there with my wife and about 5 other people in the waiting room. I started to explain that I'm not here to argue about the bill, because I'm paying it. I know it's my bill because my dog was off his leash. As I was in mid sentence, she said "Wait, I'm not done talking." As I started to explain that I'm going to pay the bill and that I'm only here because I need to know if my dog really did bite the other dog, because we have other dogs and I need to know if he really is aggressive. She got up, walked to the back and slammed the door in my face. I can honestly say, I've never been so disrespected in my life. My wife was crying in the waiting room because of how rude this lady was. All I wanted to know is if my dog really bite her dog. I was not trying to get out of the bill that I knew I had to pay. For her to assume that I was, was just a huge slap in the face. I will never, ever allow any of my dogs or family members dogs near this place again. I can't say enough great things about Coleman Veterinary.  They are kind, helpful, knowledgable and you leave feeling like you ripped them off because they charge next to nothing for their services.  It's small, in a strip mall, and the lack of overhead is probably why they are so economical.  We took our new kitty here for his vaccinations and Dr. Coleman is seriously an animal whisperer.  He is so gentle and sweet you can tell he genuinely cares about animals. He even picked our kitten up and nuzzled him and then pronounced he was going to be a very good cat.  His prediction came true.  Our cat is straight badass. Read Less
