Took my expecting female in to see them. Vet didn’t even introduce himself, and didn’t do an exam( that I paid for). After we had the x ray to see how many pups they told me to call as soon as they were born and they would get them and Mom in to be checked to make sure everyone was ok and it would be included in the cost from that day! I called as soon as they opened and they told me they couldn’t see me til the next week. Mom was not doing well so I had to take her somewhere else and it cost me $200. I had an apt for tails and dews and showed up on time. We waited 1:45 mins and was never seen. I sat in their office waiting room with Mom abs 3 day old pups for almost 2 hours! Mom was freaking out and pups were crying. They kept taking everyone that came in after us back. I finally called another vet explained the situation and they will very willing and helpful to get us in. We won’t be returning to Riverton Vet EVER!! Read Less

I called around and they are the cheapest on puppy shots. My pup ate mouse poison and I got her right in. They were able to save her with their quick medical care. I love how I'm treated every time I go as well as watch how others are treated when I am there. Read Less

We've been bringing our pets here for several years. Recently, we feared it was end of life time for our elderly dog. They fit us in about a hour before they closed on a Saturday. The vet confirmed our fears. Their staff was so compassionate and patient with us as we loved, held and said goodbye to our dear friend. Is 10 stars an option? I recommend this vet to anyone I can. I've been using this vet for over 15 years. They get me in quick for an appointment within reason, if they're busy and full then I should of called sooner. The prices are fair and less than some vets nearby. The staff love my pets as if they were their own. My dog LOVES going to see his friends at the vet! The Dr's don't mess around and are straight forward and honest. I've been to a number of veterinarians in my life and never had an experience that was so positive that I wanted to leave a review. However, that has changed with the Veterinary Hospital. I had been to another vet in the city for health issues my cats were having. The vet sold me products/meds, tests, and treatments that did not even seem to help. I waited for a long time to see the doctor and longer for them to calculate my bill. I decided to try the Riverton Veterinary Hospital when 2 of my cats developed new and continuing health problems. The doctor did not try to sell me anything. He found the cheapest and least invasive way to heal my cats. There was a short wait the first time and no wait the second time. I was amazed at how little my bills were. Less than I was used to. The vet and assistants were kind and took time to educate me. I highly recommend them and will not be taking my pets anywhere else. I honestly don't think I can go back to this clinic anymore. Every time I bring my dogs in for anything besides their shots the doctor doesn't treat whatever is wrong and they end up with diarrhea from whatever medication he decides to put them on. My brothers dog had a rare blood disorder and had to get a transfusion. They were told the dog was fine to go home and later that afternoon when we went to an emergency clinic we found out the dog was in kidney failure and we would have to put him down. Our cat had been "off" for a few days, and obviously in acute pain, so we decided to take her in. We were new in town and this clinic was close. We explained she hadn't been eating or drinking well, wouldn't come out from under the side table and seemed to be in a lot of pain whenever you pet her near her rump. They said they to leave her and they would do a complete physical exam. Upon finding nothing, they proceeded to do a lot of expensive lab tests. Which showed nothing. So we got her back hours later with a $250 bill and a "Sorry, we don't know why she's in so much pain. But have a good day." and sent on our way. Later that very same night, she had a huge abscess rupture on her rear haunch. It left an open wound 1" wide and very deep. Shouldn't that have been caught during a "complete physical exam" BEFORE ordering expensive lab tests, especially given the symptoms? That was our first experience with an abscess, so we were clueless, but I don't understand how a whole clinic of vets and techs missed something so common. Read Less

This has been my goto vet for a few years, have generally been happy with them. Today I had to send my pup in with my son. I fully expected the same kind treatment. Well a different vet then usual saw my pup and my son had a poor experience with him. I called asking to talk about what went wrong and the receptionist said I should not send my dog with others and hung up on me. I will now have to find a new vet. So disappointing. Read Less

Have taken our poodle to this vet a total of four times, attempting to give them the benefit of the doubt. Well after giving them a solid chance I would highly recommend finding a different vet. On our second appointment we waited for 45-50 minutes past our scheduled time in the exam room for the vet to finally see our dog and not even acknowledge our extremely long wait. Ok things happen we'll try again. Third visit we were given a prescription that cost 75 dollars which is understandable since we know the vet will mark up the price of everything 200%. Went back to get a refill for .47 cents per pill. Flag is raised at the huge price flux. Well shame on me. Went again to get a refill and ended up with a cost of $3.00 per pill. When I pulled out my previous receipt to ask why the price was so vastly different the desk staffer became irate and argumentative which basically came down to I could accept their price or I could leave without the required medication for my dog. So if you enjoy a vet deciding the cost of any medication according to what the person at the counter feels like at that time of day, extremely long wait times and a roulette of rude, argumentative staff by all means patron this business. I will be visiting the other 30+ vets that are within equal distance. Read Less

Decent Vets, horrible record keeping. We have a dog and cat and have been going to Riverton Veterinary for 10+yrs. Each time we visit theyre never able to locate our records. This is odd because the top line of the record includes my correct name and address. This always delays our visit by 10-15 min. This isnt terrible but you would think after 10yrs they could correct the issue. The second problem concerns our cat. For over 6yrs weve been buying the same food for the same cat. For some unknown reason they havent been able to add our cat to their records. Every 2-3 months we try to buy cat food but they wont sell it because our cat isnt in their system. I always take a few minutes to explain the reoccurring issue, provide our cats name and relevant information but this never gets added to the our file. This isnt a decision, (the location is very convenient) but well have to find a new doc. Hopefully the next place will be able to keep accurate records.Read Less

I've never had a business be so rude and so disrespectful to me and my dog. If your dog was dying they would tell you to take a seat for minutes while they gossiped and then helped you. I called once an in emergency and asked Christina to stop talking over me so I could finish what was going on, she said "stop throwing a tantrum. I adopted a 3 month old kitten and later found out she had and upper respiratory infection. She was treated by the place I adopted her. She passed the infection on to my one year old male tabby. He was coughing, wheezing, not active and not a happy cat. I took him in to see Dr. Besendorfer and walked out with a new vet for both my cats along with any future pets I may have. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by the friendly staff and friendly cats at the reception desk. In the exam room Dr. Besendorfer is so gentle and kind with your pet and makes sure you understand everything going on with your pet. Upon checking out the receptionist asks how things went gave me tips on how to administer medicine and made sure I knew to call no matter what. They made me feel like they were as concerned about my animal as I was. I highly recomend Riverton Veterinary Clinic. Read Less
