The staff, services, etc are exceptional here. My family and I use a different vet primarily (just because they are family friends and we have been going to them forever) but there have been times where and emergency has come up and our vet has been out of town or sick, so we have brought our animals here in those times and have always been impressed. My 6 year old ferret crashed and was seizing earlier this week so so took her to a specialist quite a ways away and this other doctor ( NOT ROY ANIMAL CARE) did nothing beneficial for her, and in fact caused more suffering for her, for me and for our financial situation. The other place sent me home with a receipt for paying 1,000+ dollars for a less than 24 hour stay ( no surgery or anything) and most upsettingly, with a ferret suffering and in terrible condition despite them telling me she had a great prognosis, and when I called on the way home upset that she was miserable, this other place offered no empathy or help. I was able to keep Gwen alive through the night, but late this morning she crashed again and became completely unresponsive and I knew that she needed to be put down to end her suffering, we called Roy Animal Care in a panic trying to find somewhere close where they could make her comfortable and end the pain quickly, and the receptionist/tech on the phone got us in immediately. When we got there, we were treated with so much respect and kindness by everyone there, and the receptionist, a tech and the doctor took the time to hear Gwen’s story and why we were so upset, heartbroken, frustrated and confused. As soon as we walked in the door they were able to take Gwen to the back to give her some oxygen and Isoflurane to help make her more comfortable while the doctor finished up with another patient. It was a gentle, dignified, quiet and calm process. The doctor talked with us for a long time, and managed to not only make us feel comfortable, but assured us we made the right decision and talked about what he would do to approach the othe clinic that really messed up. He even managed to make us smile with his kind words, as did the tech. The price for such a sudden/emergent euthanasia was very respectable and reasonable. As someone who works as a Vet Tech, I can 100% say that they provide exceptional care, both medically to their patients and emotionally (customer service, empathy, communication, financially) for the client. I also want to add that Dr.Talbot ( Not who we saw today, who was equally amazing and exceptional!!!) is really phenomenal, I have grown up with some of his kiddos and he came to talk to us about veterinarians and science when I was in the 4th grade ( I think it was 4th) and his love for animals, science and people really helped to inspire me to work with animals, but even more so in the broad field of medicine. That experience of curiousity and amazement has stuck with me for a long time, and I’d bet it has done the same with other kids too! If you’re looking for a place that will treat your pets like family, and run the extra mile to provide excellent care, this is the place. They will always be the vet we use when our primary is not available, because the standard of care here and at our primary is equally awesome. Read Less
