I started taking my cat, Harriet, here because they were on the list the Humane Society gave me of vets who would do a free initial checkup immediately after adoption. I've kept taking Harriet here because EVVC is wonderful. I'm not sure how their prices compare to other clinics (I haven't done much comparison shopping, but it seems like some services are on the high end while others are on the low end), but they're certainly not unreasonable by any means, and even if they are a little more it's worth it.From the time I walked in, all of the staff and vet techs were very friendly and well-organized. When Dr. Butler came in and gave Harriet the exam, I was even more impressed--she listened to and answered my questions, discussed how to best set things up for and feed Harriet (I've had family cats before, but Harriet is the first cat I've taken care of on my own, and the first indoor-only cat I've had), and most importantly, she was great with Harriet. Vets are not exactly Harriet's favorite thing in the world, as is true for most cats, I think. But Dr. Butler is always able to take care of things quickly and efficiently, and minimize the time Harriet spends getting poked and prodded. When she does have to do things like give a shot or look in the cat's mouth, Dr. Butler is firm but gentle. She's also pretty good at going with the flow--on a checkup visit after Harriet's tooth removal surgery, Harriet got up on my back and didn't want to come down, so Dr. Butler just examined her up there while I leaned over the table. The service is outstanding. Making an appointment is easy, and except when another patient had an emergency, I've never had to wait more than a couple of minutes. What's more, after Harriet's surgery, not only did they answer a question I had when I called and asked a couple of hours later, but they also gave me Dr. Butler's cell phone number in case I had questions after hours. I had one quick question that I texted her, and quickly got a response despite it being 7 PM the day before a holiday. It made me feel a lot better to know that I didn't have to guess and hope that everything was okay. The most important thing to me in a vet and clinic, though, is that they love animals. Our pets are part of our families, and nothing is worse than going to a vet who sees your animal as a product and not a patient. That's not the case here. Yes, they sell services and discuss prices, but you never get that gross used car salesman vibe that I've gotten from some vets (and some human doctors, for that matter). Β Everyone, from the staff and techs to the vets, is clearly fond of their patients; Harriet always gets plenty of friendly attention and pets (except when she's hiding under a chair because going to the vet is the worst thing ever and how could I do that to her). They care about the human patients too--whenever I've been concerned about Harriet or about how to deal with something, they have been extremely helpful, and I always feel much calmer after a visit (Harriet's not the only one who gets a little stressed on the way to the vet, Β sitting next to her in the car while she makes the Saddest Sound in the World (TM) doesn't help). They're extremely caring with tough decisions, too. When I was checking out one visit, we heard unmistakable sobbing coming from one of the exam rooms; someone had just said goodbye to a friend. Shortly after that, the patient left the exam room in tears. I tried to just focus on the paperwork I was filling out and not invade someone else's pain, but I did notice that Dr. Butler was walking the patient out to her car, with an arm around her, holding her hand and speaking quietly to her. That sort of care isn't something you can fake. I don't like to think about the day I have to go through that, but I know that if I am able to go to EVVC, at least I won't have to go through it alone.I can't imagine a better place to look after Harriet, or any other animal. I'm so glad that I decided to come here, and I'll keep going back. You should too. Read Less
