I love how accommodating they are! The last time I went I called and explained what was going on with my cat and even though they were booked for appointments they set aside 15 minutes to quickly see my cat to make sure she needed antibiotics or eye drops for her eye. They're amazing with their customer service for the people and the animals. I always feel welcomed and feel comfortable any time I need to be there. I can’t say enough about Dr. Gold and his staff. My parents have used him for years for all of our Heelers and just recently saved our little blue bear of a dog Fallon after her pancreas shut down. He and his staff have earned a family of doggos and puppos for life from us in the Clayton clan. From routine check ups to life saving heroic acts they handle it with incredible service. Now that I have grown up with a wife and puppo of my own he has helped our little tripod of a dachshund Gretchen Weiners stay happy and healthy with regular check ups. We knew little Gretchen was special when we got her and knew we would need a vet that could help us monitor her one karate chop action front paw as she grew into a happy healthy little doggo. I've been a customer here for years, and always get great service for all my vet needs (cat and dog). Dr. Gold is experienced and thorough and usually can answer many questions before you ask. Staff is friendly, and not so busy you can get appointments within that same week. I have never needed to use their boarding services, but they are available. Dr. Gold is a nice person, definitely animal-oriented. If you want a caring, practical, knowledgeable vet with a nice staff, go to Dr. Gold. Small practice, always seems busy, but he doesn't seem rushed with the animal. Efficient for maintenance stuff, so you're not there for an hour for a shot. Never rushed on the important things. I worked at this vet in the kennels I loved the job I mean who wouldn't working with dogs and playing with them all day but I left because I didn't like the way animals clients and workers are treated there its sad there is roaches every where not normal ones either huge ones disgusting I mean every where the roof in the big dogs kennels is falling down and dogs were treated like dogs and I don't like that every dog has its own personality you just have to learn what they like and care for them show them you care no one did that none of the workers get along with one another its like a Jr high and they show it there are a few girls there that are nice and carding but not many Dr gold himself and Erin his assistant are always angry and never happy I had one of my friends bring her two dogs in for a week while she went on vacation and they was border together they got in a huge fight blood every where they stitched the dogs up really good and took care of them but they treated me as a child told me I couldn't talk to my friend at all until after she got back and they called her first they didn't let me go near the dogs which were more comfortable with me cause they knew me and I worked late that night and they took 4hours of time I worked hard work and didn't pay me for it cause I was supposed to be off early that day but when the dogs fought that was an emergency that I helped with they didn't want to pay me for it I would never ever recommend any one to this place mostly if you knew how disgusting it really was you wouldn't eitherRead Less

Love this vet and staff! You can tell they love your dog! They discovered my dog has a low thyroid issue. His hair was falling out before but now his coat looks healthy and beautiful after being prescribed thyroid meds. The overnight stay prices are by far the best I've seen- they were happy to give me a tour and answer all my questions. (The dogs don't all play off leash together like a lot of places, but they have a BIG back yard and get a personal walk 3 times per day.) My dog would be pretty stressed if I left him at one of those free play places w 20 other dogs since he's super friendly w people but picks and chooses what dogs he likes or wants to bark at. At his follow up to test his thyroid levels, they took his blood quickly and efficiently so my dog wasn't even bothered. Their prices are very reasonable. Read Less

There are good and bad things about this vet clinic, but overall I didn't have a super positive experience. The pro is, they keep prices very affordable, and I do think that Dr Gold is very knowledgeable. He's not the sort to recommend expensive prescription foods or other services you don't really need. I ended up sometimes having longish wait times here, but totally understand that that happens when it's a small office and don't really have a problem with it. The office is kind of dingy and unwelcoming, which I could totally get over if the vet was great. I didn't think Dr Gold had great bedside manner with my pet, though, and I didn't feel like he was always listening to me when I'd tell him what was going on with my dog. We wound up with an accurate diagnosis of degenerative myelopathy, which is a terminal diagnosis; my job was just to keep my dog comfortable and decide when it was time to let him go. A few months later I brought my dog back for a follow-up; physically he was doing okay, but he'd suddenly developed some pretty extreme fearfulness about noises. I wanted to ask the vet whether an anti-anxiety medication might help, and whether this personality change might be due to the DM. Dr Gold not only reacted sort of like I was an idiot for asking the question, he also had no idea what I was talking about... I don't expect him to remember every patient and detail, but he clearly hadn't even glanced at my dog's chart before coming into the room, so I was trying to ask him questions about my dog's diagnosis that the vet was unaware my dog even had. Although he'd diagnosed it himself the last time we were there. When we left I was no more informed about how to help my dog with his anxiety, we'd accomplished nothing, and my own anxiety was through the roof because of the vet's manner with both of us. When it came time to put my dog to sleep, the last thing in the world I wanted was for him to spend his last moments in that office with a vet who hadn't historically been real compassionate. I found a mobile vet who met us in the park and my dog went to sleep for the last time in peaceful surroundings with a vet who was great with both of us. When I got a new dog a few years later I found a new vet, and don't intend to ever go back here. This office might be a little cheaper than other places, but frankly I'd rather pay more to go somewhere else and get a higher quality of care. Read Less

I have NOOO idea why this place has a good rating. I'm in town today and needed to have my dog vaccinated for rabies, because we're moving to Hawaii. My husband found this place, and all the reviews seemed really positive. We easily got an appointment, which was great, but we experienced nothing but RUDE and UNFRIENDLY staff. We walked in and felt unwelcome from the start and waited for the Vet. Dr. Gold walked in, never even said "Hello," and proceeded to babble about our situation and that we didn't print the correct forms needed. He gave our puppy his vaccination, and our little fur baby, who is usually VERY great at the Vet, was screeching and freaking out from pain. He had blood all over him, and it was dripping on the floor. Dr. Gold just looked at him, and we were appalled and trying to help our baby. He just said, "Well, I guess I poked him just right." We just stared at him wondering if he would even apologize or try to help our puppy, and there was just a silence in the room until he said, "He's poked, he's done." We seriously couldn't believe our eyes or ears and left as fast as we possibly could. That guy is a psychopath, and I have no idea why anyone would take their sweet little babies there. Excellent doctor, hard to find in town. If he accepts your beloved four legs friend as a patient, keep him as long as you can. My 12 years old Jack Russell had a serious arthritis two weeks ago, couldn't walk and got up from his own bed, took him to other clinic, put him on 3 medications for few days, no improvements at all, unnecessary test and medications had been given, of course overpriced, do nothing.Recommend by a friend of Dr Gold, one shot, took care his problem and now my senior puppy back on track in just two days.Also, their system of operation is very efficient, no waiting from the doctor in the waiting room, no bells and whistles of high tech stuff, straight forward to make the diagnostic in a minute and offer solution, did I mention too, very very affordable. I have been taking my dogs to Forest Hills Pet Care for boarding for over thirty five years. That should say a lot! I do love this place and so have all of my dogs over the years. I use Forest Hills Pet Care primarily for boarding. I won't go anywhere else. The girls at the front desk always call me by my first name and they are very, very good with my dogs.
