Unfortunately my Scnauzer of fifteen year's had been mis diagnosed by another vet and by the time I got to Midvalley to Kelly our situation was very serious. After doing everything possible to try and help our boy, Kelly helped our precious Schnauzer boy pass with dignity and love in the privacy of our own home. We will be forever grateful to Kelly and the assistant that came that day. The love and respect that was shown to me and my love one's and most of all our sweet Schnauzer boy will forever be engraved in our heart's. I have been taking my two dogs ( Zipper and Bubbles ) here for years. Very important to me to know they truly care about animals. They explain things well and send reminders of shots and things. I also like that the place is clean. Little hard to get into the parking lot, but obviously that has never changed my mind. Price is also fair. Read Less

Midvalley Animal Clinic is GREAT! The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. The prices seem to be the best around too. Midvalley Animal Clinic is the only one I found that didn't charge a vet consultation fee for vaccines. I will definitely be going back. Read Less

It is always busy, but the staff are friendly and helpful. And they work as fast as possible. I'm glad for the small stuff like boosters the assistants do that and no office charge on top of that. It's a busy road to get in and out. But I still give them a A+ Read Less

I take our dogs here for shots & one got the snip there. Service seems a bit slow but I don't know what's going on "back there". Vets are helpful and attentive. Gets busy for sure! Good sign people trust them. Fair prices for the work done. Read Less

I like this vet but I have to give it 2 stars. I have been calling a lot to get test results back and the vet tech tells me that the vetranerian will call me but never here from them. I think the vet techs need to work on there customer service skills. Would I recommend them probably because there services they do are good. Read Less

This was the worst vet I've ever been to! I took my cat here for a life threatening bladder infection and ended up waiting over an hour after my scheduled appointment. Finally, I was sent to a back room where I waited another half hour for the vet to come only for her to not listen to me about what my cat's symptoms were, not spend anytime with us and to misdiagnose my cat. She prescribed only steroids for an infection and I still paid $200 for it! A week later, the steroids made the infection even worse! So I took my cat to Mountain Vale who correctly diagnosed his infection within seconds and prescribed pain killers, antibiotics and a special food for UTI issues, which cost me the SAME as my visit to Mid Valley which LITERALLY almost killed my cat. This vet is shameless and probably shouldn't be in business anymore. Read Less

My family and I have been taking our animals here for I'd say close to 10 years. at first they were very good. always helpful. in the past couple years our experience has been different. I called them to get my dog in he was stung by a wasp and was having a severe allergic reaction. I explained to the reception that he was very swollen and his eye was shut. they told me. sorry we don't have anything. take him to the er. and didnt even let me respond before she hung up. she was very rude. this is the second time they have done this when I've called to get my dog in. I'm very unhappy with my experience here and will not be taking my dog back. Read Less

Have been going here for years and feel very comfortable with the vets. One surgery that was priced at 1000 dollar at one clinic ended up being only a 100 here with other treated during the same surgery. They care about them and give all options. One vet there was well versed on hounds and helped us greatly with our older beagle. When it was time for us to put a few of our furry friends down we received cards in the mail a few days later. Wow! Just got my 9 month old husky spayed and it was just a freaking treat. They don't give you a complimentary e-collar (cone) you have to pay for it. Right when we walked out of the door a couple stitches pulled open. They're suppose to do three layers of stitches which I'm almost positive they only did one. So I had to take her back in and wait for an hour for someone to say it was fine. Now 2 weeks later she has a huge bump where the scar is and it's swollen and purple almost like a blood blister. Yeah I'm ranting because I just called and the receptionist wouldn't e even give my number to one of the vets so they could call when they weren't busy to just quickly talk it through to see if it was an issue. I understand I need to bring her in but their hours suck and I just want to talk to a freaking vet. K cool people - never ever going back there for anything. Horrible. They did not keep proper records of what was discussed about my pet. They billed me incorrectly. And changed my dogs dosage of medication and when I called to get it refilled told me she shouldn't be taking that much and wanted to do more blood work because she was taking more. We've been going to this clinic for over 4 years and today I'm very frustrated with them. I feel the vets are nice enough but the people at the front desk are not friendly. They seem to act as if you are bothersome to them (this has been experienced at many visits, not just my one today). My grandma (who cannot drive) asked me to stop and pick up some allergy medication for her dog. She had called earlier in the day to make sure the medication was ready and they confirmed it was. When I got there the office was very crowded. I was told to sign in at the front desk. I asked them if I needed to sign if I was only picking up a medication and they told me "yes, so we know the order you came in." I counted 8 people ahead of me, all with pets on leashes. I sat and waited for a while as every few minutes they called a new person, with their pet, to the back. They were making me wait in the order of arrival to pick up the medication, even behind the people who were waiting to see the vet. This, to me, is very bad customer service. Because I was on a time limit, after 15 minutes I walked out without the medication. I came home and told my grandma that it was time to find a new clinic. Read Less

I can't say enough good things about Midvalley. They fit my puppy in an already very busy schedule as an emergency. I'm so thankful they were willing to do that, because it was more of an emergency than we thought and they hospitalized him right away. They let us come visit him during his stay and They called regularly to keep me updated and didn't seem annoyed when I called to ask how he was doing either. Everyone was kind and informative. I love the doctor we see at this clinic, she is very caring, compassionate and clearly cares for our pets. However the entire front desk staff is incredibly rude, short tempered, sloppy and absolutely the worst to deal with. I dread every time we have to go in there. They are not only rude to their customers but to each other as well, so very unprofessional. I would recommend the doctors but never recommend this clinic.Worst customer service I have every experienced time after time. Read Less

I have been coming here for almost 4 years now. I use to only come for my two dogs annual check up's, but this past year one of my dogs had to have his tail amputated as he was losing circulation to the tip of his tail. Dr. Flynt is amazing!!! My dog is 11 years old and Dr. Flynt could tell I was terrified of something happening to him while he was under.  She took the time to explain to me what was going to happened and assured me that my pooch would be just fine and would be feeling so much better without his tail. Boy was she right. He was back to his normal self within a few short days. Dr. Flynt also recently had to help me with my other dog as he was chewing away at his skin and paws. She took the time to narrow down what it could be and prescribed him a drug called apoquel that has done wonders for my dog. She took the time to explain the medication and is quick to refill his meds when needed and my dogs both just love her. I have to drive quite far to get to this vet and I will keep making the drive because they take the time to care for my pets. Not only do they care for their furry patients, but their prices are very reasonable and they have always been helpful in working with me on a good price point.  Thank you for all you have done for my furry friends. This place was my favorite before they changed management. They amputated my chihuahuas leg at a affordable price and did an amazing job, other vets were too expensive and I was almost forced to put him down before I found Midvalley. I just called this morning because my fur baby was throwing up and besides the extremely rude front desk lady, their prices spiked and they no longer take walk ins. Tried this clinic for my pets based on a strong referral from a trusted source. Initially... I was pleased. However.. This last week has much swayed  my opinion and will never return based on poor customer service.My pet was treated for a condition that seemed to have not quite cleared up approximately a month ago. I called on Thursday mid morning to make a followup appointment. My call was instantly routed to voice mail. Assuming they were busy at the moment.. I left a message.  a few hours later i received a call.  the person said.  a  not very friendly  one at that said.. "we have no appointments available today or tomorrow. Call back tomorrow at 8am and try for a Saturday appointment...HUH? I asked cant i just make an appointment now  for Saturday? I was told no. They only schedule appts on the  previous day for next day! Call back!HUH? So i say.. i have to call you in The morning to schedule for Saturday?  my understanding was confirmed. So i asked. May i be put on a cancellation list? I was told No.. All our customers want to be on a cancel lists so we dont do that but i could ask in the morning when i call if there were any cancels on Friday Woah! Really? So... I call Friday..  GUESS WHAT??my call was IMMEDIATELY again routed to voicemail..  it didnt even ring a few times first. Stunned i left another message. An hour later i called again.. GUESS WHAT.. YUP! Voicemail. So i left another. I told them i would be down to get my pets records as my pets deserved better customer service. An hour later I arrived. Went in and was stunned to see.. NO PETS/CUSTOMERS in the lobby. NOT ONE  And I've been waiting 2 hours for a return call??? I was told previous day.. No available appts?? And there are 3 customer counter reps just sitting  there chatting. Keeping my cool i asked for my pets records. While waiting a 4th employee came out of back messing around with her cell phone. Wow!! And theyre toooo busy to answer  their  phones? Well my pets deserve better!! Never ever will i go here again!!I will have no problem telling people they are faarrrrr toooo busy for your pet. 24 hours and i was unable to schedule an appointment??? WTH??SOOO..  when i got to my car.. I called my original pet clinic.. And WOW!! They answered the phone!!! And OMG I WAS given a few options of available appts.. WOW!! I expected nothing less..when a clinics staff are so unconcerned with their patient care.. They dont deserve patients.. FIND A CLINIC THAT CARES!! THIS ONE DONT! I for one.. I've been going to this vet for years. They have always provided great service at a good price. They really took good care of my dog when she was suffering from cancer and were even MORE KIND when it came down to the final/ tough decision. I'd recommend them to everyone! Today I hit traffic and a hail storm and called them (at 9 mins late) lething them know I will be there within 3-5 mins. I WAS TURNED AWAY! I would have been around 12 mins late. I have been bringing my dogs here for 20+ years. I have always had good service. They do get very busy some times and i am not able to schedule appointments. i have always been able to get my pets in when there is an emergency though. Prices are very competitive, some are more than other places, but you get better service.Read Less

From the first time we took our Golden Retriever, Elway upon a friend's recommendation, we have been totally impressed with this Veterinary practice.  Every Receptionist, Doctor, Intern, and Assistant has been compassionate and professional.  When I recommended them to a friend, she was scared to take her dog in because the prices were so much lower than what she'd been paying elsewhere!They always seem to have cats residing in the office, trying to find a home.I've had to take our cat ZoJo in for some recent issues, and I'm happy to find nothing has changed; the same great service is being offered. I absolutely love this vets office. Dr flynn is very down to earth and will treat you like a real person. She is genuinely concerned for your animal and you. My dog stayed for about 2 weeks with pancreatitis, around the clock iv fluid and it was well under 750$. I'm impressed by the price and service.Read Less

I have been taking our animals to this clinic since they first opened their doors. I had always been very happy with them until they started changing staff. The last straw was about six weeks ago when I took my kitty in to be seen for a growth (on his cheek, large enough he was chewing on it) in his mouth. After a very brief 30 second exam they immediately wanted to do a $250 surgery to completely remove the growth and have it tested. They kept telling me it was cancerous and they needed to determine what type it was. I felt more like they were looking for a quick buck rather than wanting to help him. When I told them I couldn't pay for the surgery right then they reluctantly placed him on antibiotics and told me that they wouldn't help. After three days of having him on antibiotics, and making me fearful and stressed out, the growth shrinked. Knowing cancer does not respond to anitbiotics, I made an appointment with another vet for a second opinion. The new vet thoroughly examined his mouth and decided to finish off the course of antibiotics. During the follow up appointment the growth had not shrunk anymore so they removed a tiny piece of it for testing. The results are in and proved there is not any cancer. He has stomatitis, an inflammatory condition that he will always have but it's managed with medications. Not only did my kitty receive a better exam, the cost of the testing and follow up appointments and medications was not even half of what Midvalley wanted for just the surgery.My new vet did say that had I gone the route Midvalley wanted to go and had the entire growth removed it would have disfigured my kitty. To remove it completely they would have had to cut up into his cheek and lips.My brother and sister have also had very negative experiences with Midvalley Animal Clinic's treatment of their cats forcing them to change vets. I personally will never again take my three kitties to Midvalley. Read Less

We started using this vet when we adopted our dog GiGi from the animal shelter. A year later she got really sick and fast, on the way to the vet she passed away. MidValley Staff saw us rushing in and took us straight back without even asking and let us take care of everything in the exam room. We now have two dogs and i will not trust them with any other vet. you can call them with questions thoughout the day and they are happy to help you over the phone if it is something that doesn't need a vet visit. I have taken my 2 1/2 year old dog to several clinics trying to find the best one, and this clinic by far is so much superior to the rest. They tell you the pricing before doing anything, and then when something is rather expensive they talk to you about other feasible options that are more affordable. I don't believe other posts that talk about how the vet has ruined their dog or cat, becuase I have seen these vets and nurses deal with other people and their issues and I have never seen them treat any animal badly. I have an 80lb dog and the bet gets on the floor with her and pets her and plays with her while she is discussing things with me. I recommend this vet to everyone I know, and even my mother who deals with large farm animals outside of UT, even talks about how good they are!!! Love this place! Also, they are a very busy clinic, so when people complain about getting calls back or bad customer service, you will have a better experience if you are a diligent pet owner and just call more than once. I heard that Midvalley was the cheapest vet at doing dental work in town so I took my pet there. I realize I signed a waiver giving them permission to pull any bad teeth if necessary but that could not prepare me for what was about to happen to my pet. I had my pet looked at by another vet previous to going to Midvalley clinic and they told me that my pet had one tooth that needed to be removed and the rest just cleaned up, because of the high price that vet gave me I decided to go with Midvalley as previously explained. After dropping my precious baby off for it's dental thinking one tooth would be pulled and the rest cleaned up I wasn't expecting any major issues. I got a call three hours after dropping my baby off and the vet tech told me that they had pulled 14 teeth from my pets mouth!! I was in total shock and disbelief, how could one vet tell me one tooth needed to come out then Midvalley pulled 14 teeth?!? Please if you have a pet you love and want the best possible care for just pay the extra money and have it done right and not taken advantage of by Midvalley. It's not worth the pain for you or your pet. I hope my review will help you in your decision making about Midvalley. Read Less

We drive an extra 20 minutes to go to this clinic! Our first yorkie was hit by a car and we were so distraught that he would have to be put down because of the cost. They were able to fuse his spine and put a pin in his leg for a very reasonable cost and now he runs like nothing ever happened! A couple months ago our female yorkie got very sick. We took her to the vet where they had to perform an emergency spade. She was near death, but pulled through. Again, the cost was very reasonable and she has been fine since. We are new to Salt Lake City and was looking for a new vet after our first one we went to was horrible. The 1st vet we went to said our dog had Colitis. What he recommended wasn't working so we went to Midvalley Animal Clinic. The Vet said it wasn't Colitis but a polyp. The charge for the pills from the vet was only $13 (cheap compared to most vets). The unkept female vet here paralyzed my Lhasa Apso, and we had to put him down because of it. She said she had to give him steroid injections in his back because he was sore. Inflamed joints in a 4 year old dog? I more than highly doubt it. She did one and it didn't help. She did the second one the next week and nicked his spinal cord with the needle. They were all very nice and helpful when we took our aussie there to get spayed. They are all animal lovers and it really shows when you walk in the door. All of our questions were answered and they did their best to make sure we felt comfortable with procedure. 5 days after the spaying our little girl ripped her stitches open and they told us to bring her down and they took care of her! it was very easy and we weren't as stressed as I know we could have been. The only downside to this clinic is the location if you are coming from the north it can be a bit of a pain to turn into, but if you want quality care for your animal this is a great place to go. We've been coming to Midvalley for about 10 years now. The staff recognize my voice when I call to make an appointment. They always ask which of the ""kids"" needs to be seen. I have 4 dogs ranging in age from 5 to 15. All are rescues with health and behavior issues. My favorite part of the whole practice is that almost everyone has been there for the entire time I've been taking my dogs there. You can actually request which vet you'd like to see. Getting an emergency appointment is not an issue as general rule. Once you have the appointment you can rest assured that your pet will be seen by someone who is aware of the latest meds, etc. And someone who remembers you and your pet and its quirks and issues. And cares very much that the poor baby isn't feeling well. There is never a push to try to talk you into a procedure or a special food or drug. Bottom line for me is that I can't believe anyone would take a cherished pet anywhere else! Read Less

When calling in as a Courtesy to inform them that the fax number being given out was incorrect and to let them know they might want to call some of their fax receipents they were very rude. They may want to be more kind to people on the phone so their current clients information and requests don't get taken for granted. Read Less

The vets at Midvalley are wonderful! they are knowledgeable and most of all CARING about the animals. I have had 3 major experiences with them. the first was when my dog got the bones in his foot shattered. I called around and they were the cheapest I could find. And... not only that, it has now been close to ten years and my dog has had no problems since! At another vet in the WVC area, they were actually sending a financial advisor to the room to discuss payment options. this was only when I went in for an emergency problem with a bone stuck in my dogs mouth. They did tests, blood tests and wanted to do xrays. this was ""after the fact"". Thank heavens that was NOT Midvalley! Most recently, my grandpa doggie had a tumor. other vets may have tried talking me into expensive treatments and surgeries. Not this one! they were open and honest and spent the extra time with me that i needed to come to terms that grandpa doggie was walking down his final paths of life. I appreciate the fact that they will pull the dogs teeth while already under sedation. I dont want my dogs knocked out any longer or as less frequent as possible. Thank you Midvalley! These are the most caring people in the world. My puppies were exposed to Parvo, a deadly virus. All three came down with the virus, at 8 weeks old, they were just due for there shots. Two of the pups over came the virus, but one, Fluffin, at this time is not doing well...They took me in with out an appointment, went well beyond trying to save this puppy. The pups got sick christmas eve night. The doctors and staff were so kind and compassionate, if you love your animals, you cant go wrong at Midvalley Animal Clinic. Read Less

Years ago my cat was hurt and I took him to the vet we us then. As I didn't have a car it took two buses. The vet tells me they can't help me, no x-ray and does not even examine my cat! Instead he tells me to go someplace else. I ended up at midvalley and was greeted in a very friendly manner, my cat was examined (he didn't even neexd an x-ray since all he had was an abcess) and booked for surgery to fix an abcess, they even neutered him for very cheap. They also did my dog 's neutering and fixed his eyes so his eyelashes curve out not in. All in all they are very great nice and friendly. My basset hound needed some dental work done. My regular vet quoted me close to $700 with a couple of extactions included, if needed. I saved up the money, which took some time on my budget. I had a friend refer me to Midvalley. With exam, blood-work for anesthesia and the cleaning, I was in and out for about $150. My dogs teeth are clean and he didn't lose any and they gave him a courtesy nail-trim while he was out. I don't see how people say they are concerned with profit. I scheduled an appt to get my dog neutered. I dropped him off in the morning. I was told I would receive a phone call at about 2:30 to let me know if he was done or not. That time rolls around, no phone call. About 4:30 to 5, I still dont here a word. I call them and they finally say, ""oh ya, your dog is done by the way"". So he has been awake and sitting there forever. I go to pick him up, they tell me that they also pulled a couple of baby teeth while they were there. WITHOUT ASKING ME!! Another fee tacked on!! I would have been more lenient and ok with it if they called me and let me know the situation and asked. I mean, what if I did not have the extra $50 to pay for that! My dog came her to get fixed. Imediatley she got sick i tried everything and then after 2 weeks i called the vet and they told me to bring her in for a FREE follow up. I asked if they need to do anything more will they tell me the cost of it before doing anything. I was told yes. This is my first dog and so i dont know what a follow up consist of. So after they did all this stuff to her they told me that i owed them $141.00 I said you told me it was free. She said yes but then we did all this stuff to her that you owe us for. I said no one told me how much anything was going to cost. Anyhow i paid them and when i got home i called to speak to the manager they said she was not in i left a message every day for 30 days till she finally got on the phone she baically told me to bad and was yelling at me on the phone and was so rude. It has been almost 3 months now and my dog is still sick. I spoke to another vet and she wants to see her because it sounds like midvalley messed up on my dogs spadeing.
