Awesome, Kind, Very Affordable
I clearly remember my wife coming home after her 1st visit here. It stands out because the look on her face as she was describing her experience was puzzled (to say the least).
She told me how "wierd" she thought the Veterinarian and the entire experience was. I asked if he was rude, and she said no. In fact, she said he was very nice.
The next time, I went with her to see this "weird" vet office. I laughed to myself when i realized what she meant.
It's a small 50's house turned into a vet office, and is filled with unique personalities (especially the doctor).
The general vibe here can sometimes "feel" a little chaotic and no nonsense. I think they could benefit from some upgraded computers and/or systems as well.
That said, I have never once felt apprehensive about taking my dogs here, or leaving them overnight.
We have both been back to take our dogs to this vet roughly 8-9 times, and will 100% recommend him to others in a heartbeat.
Our most recent visit was a very scary one for our 8yr old Yorkie (and us).
She had to have immediate surgery on her Uterus, or she would have died within hours.
IMPORTANT!!
The surgery that costs $1,000 - $1,800 at 3 other vets in town (I called) cost us less than $600 at this vet. This covered EVERYTHING (surgery, meds, follow up, food, cone-o-shame, etc)
Once it was done, the doctor told us he would like to take our Yorkie home with him for the night so he could keep an eye on her. I was blown away when I heard this. I don't believe that our dog would have received even 1/2 of this kind of caring and attention from another vet.
The doctor called us later that night to give an update on how she was, and told us to call him if we had any questions or concerns.
The next day he called to say that she was recovering well, and ready to go home.
BONUS - The vet didn't even charge us for the 3 different medications she needed. He also gave us 4 cans of prescription grade food for her to eat FOR FREE!! ALSO, he told us that he would pull 3 of her teeth and trim her nails for FREE while she was already under anesthesia!! (she desperately needed her teeth done, but we couldn't afford it)
WHAAAAATTTTT?!?!?
This guy truly wants to help!!
Obviously he wants to make money as well, but he doesn't want to make it by nickel-and-diming people to death.
Does the doctor come across a little "frazzled" or "odd" the first time you meet him....... probably.
It took us a few times of going here to realize that he is just a "no nonsense" - "straightforward" - "get to the point" kind of guy.
He has a lot going on, and I believe he even has another office in PC, but as others have also mentioned.....once it's your turn to be seen, you and your pet have his undivided attention.
His personality is actually very refreshing, but can definitely be a little foreign and/or come across as "rude" to anyone growing up in the "beat around the bush" capital of the world (i.e. Utah).
If YOU are looking to be pampered, catered to, or for someone to listen to you rant on and on about every little nuance your little "bootsie" has.... This might not be the place for you.
If you're looking for a genuine, caring, straightforward, honest, down to earth, easy on the pocketbook vet that will care for your pet like his own..... This is the place for you!! Read Less
