Won't be returning here for any reason. Brought my puppy here and we found out she has hip dysplasia and they put her on the dog equivalent of ibuprofen. Great, she was doing better. Until she has surgery her condition doesn't change. She is in pain. Called twice to refill the prescription, they finally called me back 3 days later saying that she needed bloodwork for them to refill the prescription. This is such a blatant money grab and wanting to subject my dog for an unnecessary procedure! They have the xrays proving her condition and wanting to get her bloodwork is utter bullsh*t. Their service was poor to start out when we wanted copies of my dog's xrays as well, giving us the run around for 2 weeks before we got the copies. Do not recomend. Take your pet somewhere else.

Went there this morning and was surprised with how they were. We are trying to move our cats overseas and the lady behind the desk went crazy out of her way to help us. She had never dealt with people...
Went there this morning and was surprised with how they were. We are trying to move our cats overseas and the lady behind the desk went crazy out of her way to help us. She had never dealt with people moving to Taiwan so she meticulously went over the paperwork to ensure everything was correct. This is a complicated process that we were sure was going to suck having to do. While there is still more that we need to do, I was just surprised with how helpful she was. As prepared as I thought we were.... I learned... I had no idea what we were doing. She laid it out for us and told us our next steps. The point being... I was extremely impressed with the staff here. They went above and beyond to make sure things were all lined up for us and we are ridiculously thankful. This has made our experience a lot less scary. Also... we were surprised when they came back with the total. We have called a bunch of different veterinarians and they have all been a lot more than this place. We usually take our cats to the humane society for their inoculations but when we heard them talking to other customers, their prices seemed comparable to the humane society which surprised us a lot. My point is that, I really thought this place might be kinda sketchy just based off of some of the reviews but we were in here for 2 hours getting all of our paperwork taken care of. The whole time, the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was done right.... all the while their phones were ringing off the hook and they were busy. I say that this was awesome that they juggled this all for us. Thank you guys.

My dog tore his dew claw and was in extreme pain. I called the veterinary hospital that I have been going to for 3 years and after explaining the situation to them, was told that they couldn't see him...
My dog tore his dew claw and was in extreme pain. I called the veterinary hospital that I have been going to for 3 years and after explaining the situation to them, was told that they couldn't see him for 3 days. I called 2 other local vet hospitals and was given a similar response. I then called Alta Veterinary Hospital. I explained the situation and they opened up an appointment for my Luke that day. After an examination, the veterinarian said that he needed to have the dew claw removed/repaired and I was given a reasonable quote for the procedure. They were able to take care of the injury that day and when I picked him up later, he was well medicated and alert. They placed a nice little splint on his paw that he wasn't able to chew off but still afforded him the ability to get around. I admit that I was disheartened that the other facilities that I called were unwilling to fit him in just to assess the situation. Nonetheless, Dr. Kelly Huston and her staff were kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable and my puppy is now back to his normal self!

We recently adopted a cat from the humane society. I am a first time cat owner and the staff was so helpful to educate me on how to keep my cat healthy. They weren't judgmental and were very helpful...
We recently adopted a cat from the humane society. I am a first time cat owner and the staff was so helpful to educate me on how to keep my cat healthy. They weren't judgmental and were very helpful when answering my millions of questions. They were so kind to my cat and so gentle. He was very scared and they took the time to make him and us more comfortable. We didn't know the background of his medical history very well so they took all precautions and checked him out thoroughly. We will definitely be back here and I highly recommend them!
PS, Desirae the tech was awesome!

Actually I go to Alta Groomery which is attached to Alta Veterinary Clinic. I highly recommend Jolynne. I have taken my dogs to her for over 2

The want to charge you an exam fee every time you bring in your dog. Which is $50 FYI. We just wanted a BORDATELLA shot and they said they couldn't just give them the shot unless they did an exam. They did exam on my dogs end of Oct 2017 and this is Feb 2018. Why would you need to do exam on my dog in 4 months again? No purpose. They try to just get money out of you! I called University Veterinary Hospital and they said they didn't need exam could do it for $22.

This is the worst Veterinary Hospital in the state of Utah. The staff are sloppy and very uncaring. Dr Huston is a poor excuse for a veterinarian! She has no idea what she is doing and should not be around animals. As well as the other veterinarians are horrible too. The office manager is rude and worthless. They nickel and dime you to death. I would NOT recommend this place at all. It is best to stat away.

Very happy with my experience at Alta Veterinary! I had to take my cat in for stitches due to an injury from another animal. They had him in and out, and he recovered quickly! It was actually hard to keep him from being playful! He healed well, then went in for the stitches removal today. It was so quick and they were so good handling him, especially being a cat. They also understood my financial circumstances and were willing to work around that, which I appreciate most!

I have been taking my fur-babies to Dr. Huston and to Maurveen for over five years, before her transfer to Alta. I would take my pups to no other vet and vet-tech as I simply adore both these ladies!...
I have been taking my fur-babies to Dr. Huston and to Maurveen for over five years, before her transfer to Alta. I would take my pups to no other vet and vet-tech as I simply adore both these ladies! Gus, my adopted Chihuahua, had a very traumatic life before he came to live with me and my crazy Scottie, but Maurveen and Dr. Huston have been absolutely wonderful working with him, and my other pups. Dr. Huston took her time getting to know every aspect of my dogs, their personality and their health issues, and has always shown a keen interest in keeping up with their health. Though Gus would never admit to it, I really think he likes Maurveen - even if she does cut his nails. :) I have also seen Dr. Anderson, and she too is a wonderful vet! The clinic itself is well organized and clean, reminds me of a countryside clinic, and the staff are always friendly and jovial. Over the years, I have recommended the clinic to a number of my own clients who now take their dogs to see the team and are very happy with the service!

I highly recommend Alta. Unfortunately, I have been in five times this year with sick cats. In January, I took my cat to a different vet before finding them and both my cat and I were very mistreated and disrespected. Honestly, I just happened to find Alta because of their online coupon and my lack of money. I instantly fell in love with Alta and my cats instantly fell in love with their doc, Kelly Huston. I will most likely never take my pets anywhere else, ever. They keep you with your animal whenever possible and always explain everything they are doing. They ALWAYS give you a breakdown of prices and discuss options with you before treatment. I usually just tell them how much money I have and they do everything they possibly can within my budget. I always feel taken care of and never leave with unanswered questions. I have become a little emotional in their office before and they always show me empathy and support. If I call them with questions between visits, they are always more than happy to help and are never annoyed. Having a sick pet is never a good thing but it comforts me to bring my babies to such genuine and honest people who truly care about my fur balls.

My family and I have had some very bad experiences with this clinic. My parents took one cat there that ended up dead with a misdiagnosis after being tortured. Another cat was just suppose to be given fluids and ended up dead.. My mother in law just had to put her dog down after giving her old dog Front Line from this clinic. Lisa, receptionist/owner, told her that her dog would be fine taking it even though he was old and in bad condition and he ended up paralyzed and in horrible shape after taking this medication. Lisa at the clinic would not give my mother in law the package of the med. even though she requested it to read the side effects before she gave it to her dog and stated she needed it for the other two vials... Lisa, the receptionist/owner, didn't recognize the sample bugs that my mother in law brought in but still advised her to treat her old dog with the FrontLine. It ended up that her dog didn't even have fleas, which they never bothered to tell us, we found out after the dog was dead that it was dog lice, another misdiagnosis. This dog was old and going to be gone soon, but absolutely not like this!!!

I adopted a cat from Sandy city shelter, for an adoption fee and sterilization fee.The sterilization had to be done at their list of veterinarian hospitals. So I chose Alta, wishing I could take it to my own favorite vet. "Healing Hearts"! Upon arrival of the appointment, I dropped off the cat and left. Not signing any authorization forms for bloodwork. Returning to pick up the cat Lisa "mean witch" said I owed $78.40. I said for what it was already prepaid, She said for bloodwork. Nobody told me prior about any blood work nor did I sign any authorization to have my cats blood drawn. My vet. does not even require blood work for a sterilization. These people are scammers!

Won't be returning here for any reason. Brought my puppy here and we found out she has hip dysplasia and they put her on the dog equivalent of ibuprofen. Great, she was doing better. Very happy with my experience at Alta Veterinary! I had to take my cat in for stitches due to an injury from another animal. They had him in and out, and he recovered quickly! My family and I have had some very bad experiences with this clinic. My parents took one cat there that ended up dead with a misdiagnosis after being tortured. Another cat was just suppose to be given fluids and ended up dead.. My mother in law just had to put her dog down after giving her old dog Front Line from this clinic. Lisa, receptionist/owner, told her that her dog would be fine taking it even though he was old and in bad condition and he ended up paralyzed and in horrible shape after taking this medication. Lisa at the clinic would not give my mother in law the package of the med. even though she requested it to read the side effects before she gave it to her dog and stated she needed it for the other two vials... Lisa, the receptionist/owner, didn't recognize the sample bugs that my mother in law brought in but still advised her to treat her old dog with the FrontLine. It ended up that her dog didn't even have fleas, which they never bothered to tell us, we found out after the dog was dead that it was dog lice, another misdiagnosis. This dog was old and going to be gone soon, but absolutely not like this!!!

I love taking my dog here. The staff is super nice and you can tell they all genuinely love working animals! They are so nice to my dog and make him feel comfortable.

There was a miscommunication with one of the nurses there. They are a good vet and provide the services needed for my puppy they are kind people and want to do anything to make your viset more conveni...

I adopted a cat from Sandy city shelter, for an adoption fee and sterilization fee.The sterilization had to be done at their list of veterinarian hospitals. So I chose Alta, wishing I could take it to my own favorite vet. "Healing Hearts"! Upon arrival of the appointment, I dropped off the cat and left. Not signing any authorization forms for bloodwork. Returning to pick up the cat Lisa "mean witch" said I owed $78.40. I said for what it was already prepaid, She said for bloodwork. Nobody told me prior about any blood work nor did I sign any authorization to have my cats blood drawn. My vet. does not even require blood work for a sterilization. These people are scammers!
