I dealt with South Valley from way back in the 90s. They did a colic surgery and contracted tendons (front) on 2 of my minis/shetlands and some of my big horses. AWESOME vets! This 'satellite' clinic in Slaterville is bad about not calling back as I've seen other reviews say. Wow - not good!

The staff was friendly and the vet knowledgeable but there was a serious communication problem. One of our goats died after beimg dehorned and slowly deteriorated over a week. We contacted them throughout the weekvand sentvemails and pics of the goat's wounds but were never given access to the vet. When we finally did it was too late for one goat but he did help us save the other goat who was in bad shapeand had an infection from the dehorning. We will use them again, but the communication breakdown was frustrating.

I just wanted to thank the staff last Saturday morning for their kindness and compasion in taking care of a very difficult task for me with my horse. He was born on a Stromie night in April, 26 years ago. He was a great companion through the years riding and hunting the mountians of Utah.
I love dogs but to me there is only one mans best freind its a horse.

My horse came here during an emergency without my knowledge from the stable owner. I didn't get a call from them for at least three days to let me know something had happened. When I finally was alert...
My horse came here during an emergency without my knowledge from the stable owner. I didn't get a call from them for at least three days to let me know something had happened. When I finally was alerted they had already begun a colic surgery which ended my horses life all without even giving me a chance to decide. Worse, they never let me see him to say goodbye and even disposed of my horse blankets. I had a huge battle with them after this because they wanted compensation. In the end they got no money but it won't ever take pain away. Ultimately they did not make my horse I'll, that fell to the stable owner who ignored key signs and myself for missing some obvious things. We would expect a reputable clinic like this to follow their own rules.

Dr. Hammer is amazing! His good natured attitude and ability to explain any diagnosis in terms even a toddler can understand (I know this because my 3 year old grandson accompanied me on our latest trip and had to know EVERYTHING that was happening) is fantastic. His interaction with our horses is always kind and compassionate, with minimal stress involved. That, in itself, is worth it's weight in gold. We will continue to travel from Tooele County for his expert veterinary care!

The staff was friendly and the vet knowledgeable but there was a serious communication problem. One of our goats died after beimg dehorned and slowly deteriorated over a week. We contacted them throughout the weekvand sentvemails and pics of the goat's wounds but were never given access to the vet.
