Would just stand like he was falling asleep, would start to fall and catch himself, two ladies come into the room, take him out, come back and tell me they expressed his anal glands! And he has arthritis, duh! As I'm trying to pay the bill the older of the ladies comes up to me telling me that there are meds they can put him on for the arthritis, I'm trying to tell her that is not what I'm there for, a guy is trying to talk to her at the same time, I finally asked her who she was! As have I. Some very extreme one way or the other. That's why when it came time to choose a Doc for our three current cats, we decided to try the newest, Stansbury Animal Hospital, with Dr. Ryan Roundy. What a breath of fresh air, literally. The waiting room was nicer than most Human Hospitals or Clinics can offer, WITH NO SCENT OF ANIMAL URINE, NO RANDOM ANIMALS WANDERING THRU TO UPSET THE PATIENT ANIMALS, NO ABILITY TO SEE HEAR TOUCH OR SMELL ANY OF THE SAD, ANGRY, SICK, GROGGY, WHINEY, DISCOMBOBULATED PETS IN THE DIFFERENT STAGES OF A VET VISIT. Incredible design, maintenance, equipment, and especially staff. Finn went in for neutering and shots and never showed us any sign of being upset, he probably would love to visit again! The previous cats in the family ... At the other local options, basically hated it like we expect cats to hate it. By contrast, the entire process here at Stansbury from check-in to checkout was calming for both pet and owner. And we paid about the same as a similar visit for a different cat at a different local vet. (Which is FAR less than any other animal clinics in the Salt Lake Valley) Thanks Stansbury Animal Hospital, well done, we are greatly impressed and will be back soon with the two little girl cats! I made an appt for my dog to see Ryan in April to see why my dog was losing fur. I had asked for a skin scrape. To make a long story short, he didn't want to do that and did blood work instead as well as put him on meds and food instead to test. After two weeks, I called up saying it did work and to schedule a follow up. Only to be told that I would have to go to a dermatologist. I requested money back and was told that they would call back when they could ask him. Never did I get a call. So I would call only to be told that I was calling too much and that they weren't going to refund because I could have said no to paying. No? So apparently I am the vet not him? Come to find out at the dermatologist, had he done the skin scrape, he would have known that it was a skin infection and not allergy related. That is what the dermatologist told me as well as her finding out that he had cancer. Again, Ryan never even looked into those for the years that my dogs have had them. It was an infection to a prior pill that another vet had prescribed when my dog had a double ear infection. The food and Apoquel according to the dermatologist I should have never been given that. So instead of him and his staff apologizing or offering to refund of $300, they basically could care less. I will no longer go to them. Since then, my dogs both have had surgery for their cancer (one of the dogs a second time). Come to find out he over charged when he did my younger dogs surgery. The new vet charged me $224 to take out one tumor including the biopsy (where in Dec Ryan originally was going to charge me $650, but it was around $400 when he couldn't get the tumor out). For the new vet to take out my other dogs tumors (which was multiple with biopsy included) was $464. Had I known that he was overcharging all these years and doesn't care about his clients unless they pay him, I would have never gone. Since then, I've ended up spending less on their surgery combined with their new vet than I did when he went to attempt to remove one of my dogs tumors. When I asked for their notes, they had altered what was said making it look like they had requested skin scrapes not me. If I had the money to take him to court, I would. I have filed complaints with the BBB and the State Licensing Board.Read Less

Dr. Ryan Roundy is very caring about our pets, and his staff is great. Our cats have had several procedures done here and we've always been impressed with their professionalism and great prices. The facility is beautiful and it is obvious that a lot of time and care was taken in designing such a state-of-the-art veterinary hospital. Horrible. I liked 2 girls but the vet and his assistant were inexperienced, and just not very friendly. yes i had a hard cat but they should be able to figure out how to give the cat shots without including the owner and making me bleed AND without having her run around with a needle stuck in her. It was ridiculous. A vet should be able to handle a cat that bites without making his staff do all the work and get bit. He kept bossing his staff around to do things cuz he was scared to do it himself. And the price was supposed to include an exam which they didn't do and they didnt reduce the price. Not going back. I understand having a hard cat can make u mad but dont take it out on the owner. U should still be a nice person. My cat doesnt do that at home. I have 3 young boys and she only does small bites when they pull her hair. Read Less

I really like the place..Ryan and his tech did a great job with my cats...It is very easy to see how much they love animals...and cats...The place does not over schedule...I went right in, and they took care of the cats...The only reason I don't give the 5 stars is they don't give the rabies tag to put on the cat's collars...they give a certificate instead...I would actually pay extra to get the tag...As I said, I liked them so much, Rusty is scheduled back to get dematted....Stuart Read Less

They also have great boarding, and I know Dr. Roundy and his wife invest a lot of their personal time and energy to ensure that the boarded pets are taken care of well, even on the weekends when their business is closed. We will always take our animals here! Read Less

Read Less
