Each time I had to make an appointment (for my cat and dog), the staff was very accommodating and made sure to get me in right away. The desk staff is very polite and informative, the vet techs are so sweet and gentle with the animals, and Dr. Benson is amazing. He really takes his time examining the animals and offers treatment plans that are thorough and reasonable. I never ...feel like they are trying to pressure me into unnecessary or expensive treatment. They're prices are VERY reasonable. I was honestly blown away by the level of care my pets received and how little I ended up spending, especially for the area. Each time I had to make an appointment (for my cat and dog), the staff was very accommodating and made sure to get me in right away. You can tell immediately Dr. David Benson genuinely cares about your pet. I have been to a few vets within the valley and have never received the care and understanding that my pet and I received from Dr. Benson and his staff. Most vets these days seem more in it for the money, but that is not the case at West Lake Animal Hospital. I wish more vet's were like Dr. Benson. I highly recommend bringing your pets here.

I've visited a few times and had petty good service art a decent price, however many last visit the vet barely looked at my dogs and really didn't answer any of my questions. I had gone in because my dog hurt her toe and birth dogs had skin issues that i wanted help with.
No help and he missed my dogs ear infection and skin infection. A family friend, 3 years as a vet took one look and helped me out two days after my visit.
I am so frustrated that i might never return.

Have used a previous vet for 10 yrs. everyone butone retired. Now I can never get an appointment, which after three days trying the dog died. This was not good service and my daughter-in-LAW` recommended West Lake. I was able to get an appointment timely. My dog has a very likely cancer and Dr. Benson explained what the surgical option would entail which my previous vet neglected to mention, and this was very much a deciding factor to forgo surgery. I am pleased with this physician as well as his great office staff. My dog and I are in good quality, knowledgeable hands. Highly recommend West Lake.

After several vets in the Salt Lake area took advantage of our dog's breathing issue (see my other reviews), Dr. Benson confirmed in a matter of minutes that she's suffering from a collapsed trachea. We'd spent $3000 trying everything, including two surgeries that were totally unnecessary. The staff here was great and we were seen quickly. Considering they performed x-rays, I can't believe how quickly we were in and out. This is a vet with integrity. It shouldn't be so rare, but it certainly is around here.

We love West Lake Animal Hospital! They take such good care of our dogs every time we go in there. They are also very patient and kind about phone calls. I've had to call twice now when I've been worried about the health of one dog or the other and the techs have been amazing both times. When one of them was unsure, she checked with the vet and called me back with his answer. I highly recommend this facility. They are so compassionate! It's relatively easy to get a fast appointment too, even when scheduling checkups for two dogs.

Dr. Benson and his staff saved our puppies life! She wasn't eating and was throwing up, another vet did blood work and sent her home saying nothing was wrong. After a day or two with no change I decided to get a second opinion. West Lake suggested an x-ray which found a foreign object. They did surgery the next morning. We are luck they did because the intestine had perforated. She would have died if they hadn't found it in time. Our family is grateful that we get to enjoy our goofy Chloe for years to come!

Very backwards vet! The only anti-inflammatory they have on hand is Rimadyl. My husband didn't know how dangerous it is for dogs(the last dog I gave it to almost died). After finding out he asked for a refund or a different drug, nope can't do that. My dog is supposed to go back Friday but she won't be going here. I am sitting with 40.00 of worthless drug, we are low income disabled people, so we can't really afford to waste that money. If I have to I will drive out to Brookside in Ogden. I need a vet who cares about my fur baby and listens to me and my concerns and who has more than one option. Run from this place, they are only in it to make some money, not for pets or pet parents.

We found one very sweet and honest lady of the whole group. The doctor is sweet and cares about the animals. I understand this is a business, but they make that very apparent. When paying for healthcare you should get the best possible. Not a rushed experience.I'd avoid this place if you truly love your pet.

I love this vet, I've been going for three years, and last year my cat was diagnosed and treated for cancer. Any other vet would have told me he was a gonner being that he is a senior cat and had two spots, but just two months later my cat was back to his happy self. The Vet was very confident that my cat woud have a few more years if all went well. It's now been over a year and he is still here and as playful and active as ever. I took my 6 month old chihuahua/rat terrier puppy to get spayed a few months ago. Being a first time pet owner, I reviewed tons of different places to make sure my cute little puppy got the best care possible. When I found West Lake, it was the nearest high rated place so I chose this one...and I'm glad I did.
The staff was great, they walked me through all the different options, told me about pricing right off the bat, and called me to give me regular updates on how my puppy was doing. They even let me drop off a little plush dinosaur toy for my pet to lay down on that she used while she was in there. It's the little details like this that really make me feel that they care about their patients and their parents.
Now it's our other puppy's turn to get spayed and this is the only place we want to have it done.

I love this practice and recommend it to anyone who asks about a veterinarian in the Salt Lake area. Each time I had to make an appointment (for my cat and dog), the staff was very accommodating and made sure to get me in right away. I have been to a few vets within the valley and have never received the care and understanding that my pet and I received from Dr. Benson and his staff. Most vets these days seem more in it for the money, but that is not the case at West Lake Animal Hospital. I wish more vet's were like Dr. Benson. I highly recommend bringing your pets here.

I've visited a few times and had petty good service art a decent price, however many last visit the vet barely looked at my dogs and really didn't answer any of my questions. I had gone in because my dog hurt her toe and birth dogs had skin issues that i wanted help with.
No help and he missed my dogs ear infection and skin infection. A family friend, 3 years as a vet took one look and helped me out two days after my visit.
I am so frustrated that i might never return.

Have used a previous vet for 10 yrs. everyone butone retired. Now I can never get an appointment, which after three days trying the dog died. This was not good service and my daughter-in-LAW` recommended West Lake. I was able to get an appointment timely. My dog has a very likely cancer and Dr. Benson explained what the surgical option would entail which my previous vet neglected to mention, and this was very much a deciding factor to forgo surgery. I am pleased with this physician as well as his great office staff. My dog and I are in good quality, knowledgeable hands. Highly recommend West Lake.

After several vets in the Salt Lake area took advantage of our dog's breathing issue (see my other reviews), Dr. Benson confirmed in a matter of minutes that she's suffering from a collapsed trachea. We'd spent $3000 trying everything, including two surgeries that were totally unnecessary. The staff here was great and we were seen quickly. Considering they performed x-rays, I can't believe how quickly we were in and out. This is a vet with integrity. It shouldn't be so rare, but it certainly is around here.

We love West Lake Animal Hospital! They take such good care of our dogs every time we go in there. They are also very patient and kind about phone calls. I've had to call twice now when I've been worried about the health of one dog or the other and the techs have been amazing both times. When one of them was unsure, she checked with the vet and called me back with his answer. I highly recommend this facility. They are so compassionate! It's relatively easy to get a fast appointment too, even when scheduling checkups for two dogs.

Dr. Benson and his staff saved our puppies life! She wasn't eating and was throwing up, another vet did blood work and sent her home saying nothing was wrong. After a day or two with no change I decided to get a second opinion. West Lake suggested an x-ray which found a foreign object. They did surgery the next morning. We are luck they did because the intestine had perforated. She would have died if they hadn't found it in time. Our family is grateful that we get to enjoy our goofy Chloe for years to come!

Very backwards vet! The only anti-inflammatory they have on hand is Rimadyl. My husband didn't know how dangerous it is for dogs(the last dog I gave it to almost died). After finding out he asked for a refund or a different drug, nope can't do that. My dog is supposed to go back Friday but she won't be going here. I am sitting with 40.00 of worthless drug, we are low income disabled people, so we can't really afford to waste that money. If I have to I will drive out to Brookside in Ogden. I need a vet who cares about my fur baby and listens to me and my concerns and who has more than one option. Run from this place, they are only in it to make some money, not for pets or pet parents.

We found one very sweet and honest lady of the whole group. The doctor is sweet and cares about the animals. I understand this is a business, but they make that very apparent. When paying for healthcare you should get the best possible. Not a rushed experience.I'd avoid this place if you truly love your pet.

I love this vet, I've been going for three years, and last year my cat was diagnosed and treated for cancer. Any other vet would have told me he was a gonner being that he is a senior cat and had two spots, but just two months later my cat was back to his happy self. The Vet was very confident that my cat woud have a few more years if all went well. It's now been over a year and he is still here and as playful and active as ever. So thankful for these caring people (:

I took my 6 month old chihuahua/rat terrier puppy to get spayed a few months ago. Being a first time pet owner, I reviewed tons of different places to make sure my cute little puppy got the best care possible. When I found West Lake, it was the nearest high rated place so I chose this one...and I'm glad I did.
The staff was great, they walked me through all the different options, told me about pricing right off the bat, and called me to give me regular updates on how my puppy was doing. They even let me drop off a little plush dinosaur toy for my pet to lay down on that she used while she was in there. It's the little details like this that really make me feel that they care about their patients and their parents.
Now it's our other puppy's turn to get spayed and this is the only place we want to have it done.

The staff was great in assisting me with end of life care for my cat. And when it came time to have my cat put down, they were patient and caring. I never felt like i was being rushed or pressured. I am now taking my newly adopted kitty there for her care and up keep as it becomes needed.
