Have had to call the emergency line on two different occasions, both times went straight to voicemail and didn't hear back from anyone. A business shouldn't offer an emergency number if they aren't going to answer, wasted time when we could have been saving our dogs leg by heading straight to salt lake. Will not be taking anymore of my pets to either of the vets here in Tooele County for this reason. Read Less

I called on new year's eve at 11:00 am. I was fully expecting to reach the after hours number. The clinic was open and was able to fit my very sick cat in and stayed late. Shout out to Dr. Yardley and the staff. We had to make the heart breaking decision to put our little Pomeranian to sleep.. The staff was so kind and went above and beyond to ease our sorrow. Dr. Yardley explained what he was going to do and was so gentle with our baby girl. After she was gone he gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our girl of 15 years. They were fast, reasonably priced, and professional. I discovered an abscess on my cat this morning, and they were able to work me in in just a couple hours to drain and clean it. They also found an underlying health issue and discussed a few options for treatment with me. The vet's bedside manner is good, though much more like a surgeon than a pediatrician. He cares deeply for the animals in his care, and it shows. We will be coming back. Read Less

I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. I've visited this vet's office on two occasions - firstly, I was told after adopting a dog from the local shelter that I could just take the do g for rabies vaccinations as a walk-in to Countryside and they would help me with no problem, so after adopting the dog, I took him straight to have him vaccinated. The staff at the front desk were not only rude, but very condescending, responding to my questions in a hateful tone like I'm some sort of ignorant waste of space. I gave them the benefit of the doubt when my small dog fell off the couch and hurt her leg. I took the dog in early soon after the accident happened. I walked in and both women at the front desk were on the phone, so I waited for my turn. One woman was speaking to a customer like they were stupid. Being blatantly rude - very unprofessional - then after she had hung up the phone, she went into another room and I could hear her talking badly about the customer on the phone to another staff member. I was appalled. I've worked in a vet's office and it was a great experience with a lively, friendly environment. This place is not happy, friendly, or professional in the least. Read Less

Countryside has always been phenomenal! When my German Shepard was attacked the wonderful staff helped me care for her and prepare information for police on the case. You can tell when some one really loves to work with animals or just does it because they have to work. Everytime I bring my dogs in the staff is very kind and living toward them. They do everything they can for my boys. Dr Gowans is worth my drive from Utah County to take my dogs to. Countryside should be put out of business. Horrible receptionist every time I've ever called I've been placed on hold for 10 minutes or more, then placed on hold right after being on hold , it's laziness and lack of emotion .they said they was over a month out to spay, ridiculous my dog has an infected uterus and was in complete agony. Dr. GOWANS has treated all 4 of my Chow Chow's for the past 20 years. He ALWAYS has the best interest of your pet as he makes treatment options. It is up to the owner to make the final decisions. GARY GOWANS has helped us with the passing of 3 of our beloved Chows one of which lived 16 years. They are our children and he knows that. We went on a camping trip recently and took our Beagle Lucy with us. She apparently injured herself jumping on the bed and could not walk. Panic set in as we love our Lucy and did not know what to do for her. I called and left a message for a call back and was called back promptly by Dr. Monica. She told us what to do until the next day when we could get an appt. After taking Lucy in, She confirmed the problem and gave us the necessary meds to help. Three days later, Lucy is improving drastically, not fully recovered but well on her way. THANK YOU to all involved, especially Dr. Monica for being so kind and assuring. Dr Gowans is great, he's smart and caring and will even answer your calls on off hours. However, I wait at least an hour to see the vet every time I come in. I am not sure if they over schedule or what the problem is. Even though I love the vet this will be my last time coming here as I don't have time to wait an hour every time! Read Less
