Aspen Grove Veterinary Clinic is an equine veterinary hospital serving Northern Utah. Established in 1995, it began as an ambulatory practice. By 1999, the practice had grown enough to support a full-service hospital. Built at our current location in West Haven, Utah, our hospital allows us to offer a full range of services including preventive care, surgery, medicine, critical care/emergencies, dentistry, and reproduction in addition to excellent lameness and rehabilitation services. Farm calls are also available for most services, if needed. Each year we expand the scope of our services and purchase new equipment, allowing us to continue to provide the best medical care for your horse.

We love Aspen Grove, their office staff and the veterinarians. I won't take our horses anywhere else for teeth or mouth, ever. Had a simple float done at another clinic and 3 months later my horse stopped eating. Took her to Dr Dean Taylor and the diagnosis was a fractured tooth that had to be removed as well as her entire bite was off to the side with her teeth out of balance. Dr Taylor worked miracles on her mouth and after a year her bite is perfect and so are all my others horses and Miniatures. Dr. Taylor knows I over stress and I'm OCD about the horses. He always, and I mean always explains everything so i understand, even if I'm scared. He is kind, caring, professional and experienced with amazing knowledge. Thank you Dr Taylor for all you do and have done for us and our horses. Sincerely, RaNae and Ken Bangerter, owners of RaeKen Arabians and Miniatures. Read Less

Dr Dean Taylor is very personable. I have been taking horses to him for about 7 years now. He's great with getting my horses in foal and is well known in UT for his reproduction success rates. He is the kind of guy who will stay overnight at the clinic to watch your sick horse. He goes above and beyond and has for me as well. One time I called him early morning on his day off because we had a foal that wasn't eating well. It was freezing temps and had been 5 hours since his birth. He told me to load them up and come in. He met me at the clinic it was 7 hrs since the horses birth at this point. He milked out the mare and tubed my foal. Never once reminding me it was his day off. He was kind as always and he saved my colt. I would highly recommended his clinic. Read Less

I had first used Dr. Taylor several years ago when my Vet was out for a time period and my mare was limping. He was able to see me and diagnosed her with Founder which was a result of Cushings - two diagnosis. A few years back my Vet had to sell the business so I went back to one I was using previously. After having a horse with an unresolved eye issue that was getting worse I decided to go back to Dr Taylor for a second opinion. He knew that it wasn't something he'd seen before and referred me to an eye specialist he'd used before. Because of that the specialist did surgery on my horse and sending tissue off for testing the results was something she'd only seen in Dogs, and between the two of these Vets I have what we believe will be a successful treatment plan when the original thought was that my horse would lose his eye. This hasn't been without some cost ($$$$) but I couldn't be happier because I was given a referral and options/remedies that have ended up saving his eye. Dr Taylor has great staff and I now consider him my new vet!Read Less

She also refused services that could have saved her horse. Had Miss Cowgirl called Vet Taylor when her horse showed symptoms of colic, this could have gone much better. Instead, she chose to wait too long and refused surgery. It disgusts me that someone would lie like she has to bash a vet that couldn't save her horse because she was too dumb to call sooner. Vet Taylor saved my horse from a twisted gut and spent two days with her at his vet office to save her life and did save her. she is now a happy, healthy horse!Do yourself a favor Miss Cowgirl and get educated on the symptoms of colic. One star is too high - This vet is UNETHICAL, IRRESPONSIBLE, and over-charges. Dean was called when my otherwise healthy horse had colic. He spent about 15 minutes on-site, gave my horse only banamine paste (a $40 value) and instructed us to run out and get Metamucil from Wall Mart. Seriously?! The standard of care is tubing. He charged $314.69 and demanded payment on site. That is a $274.69 farm call, folks.Of course, this "treatment" solved nothing and another vet had to be called out. The second vet, who showed up when he was not on call, conducted a thorough exam, provided the standard of care tubing with mineral oil, and gave more banamine, charged $335. Unfortunately, it was too late to save my sweet guy.For the record, if Dean had done the responsible thing, I would have happily paid him $1k and my first born child. My advice: Save your babies.
