My 3 month old havanese became very sick so i called Banfield. They got him in right away. We had to do a lot of tests and xrays so we were there for a long time. My puppy had distemper. The vet asked me to bring my adult dog in so they cpuld check for symptoms in her. I did and they didnt charge me anything for the second dog. We put them both on antibiotics but by the next morning my puppy couldnt move. He started throwing up blood. I called Banfield again, and again, Jenny said I can bring him in right away. Distemper is highly contagious and potentially deadly so they had me come in through the back door to avoid contamination throughout petsmart. We had to put the 3month old puppy down. He was already dying. It took less than 48 hours from his first sympom. Everyone there was so sweet and loving towards us and our furbaby. Every person on staff was genuinly concerned and praying for us. My adult dog still sees the vets at the West Valley Banfield. I will not take her anywhere else. Read Less

I brought my just over a year old male medium hair cat here back in August 2017 due to urination problems. Assuming it was a UTI, crystals or stones. However, it came out to be a UTI and crystals. All I can say is WOW! This place overcharges... just because they can. Assuming PetsMart, who's purpose is to help animals, would be on the competitive side of pricing. Boy... was I wrong. An x-ray cost me around $180, just to make sure his crystals weren't stones... an x-ray... really? My x-rays out pocket don't even cost that much! When other independent vets cost about a third of this price. Then they wanted me to downgrade the food I feed him to a "prescription" food, that's just a rip off, no joke! Lets feed my cat a lower quality food because it is better for him due to his UTI & crystals... I beg to differ. How much are you paid to tell me this! Give your cats filtered water if this is the case, that's all it takes to better him for crystals. If he has a UTI, you can buy simple probiotic medication on Amazon for $10-$15 and it works! You can even buy your own test kit not requiring you to leave your animals hours at the clinic trying to get a test as they tend not to go as they are confused in what's going on. Just to prove they are a rip off! I received a postcard in the mail stating, "While your cat was in for his recent visit, we noticed dental decay". Are you f'ing kidding me! He was just over a year old when I brought him to you! COMPLETE JOKE! I would highly suggest you price comparison before you just jump the gun if you need to actually go to the vet. I honestly believe most vets out there are just there to reap the benefits and pocket the dough for something you could do yourself at home. Anything you research for vet care always states, "take them to the vet"... unless you do some extensive researching. After years and years of having all different sorts of animals throughout my life, you can do most of the things needed out of the comfort of your home with less than 5% the cost. I would rather save that money and put it in feeding them a better diet. Think before, do your research and stop letting them rob you blind! Read Less

I have been taking my dog here ever since I adopted him, going on 10 years now. Even though I have moved across the valley I still make the drive because the Doctors and staff know him and treat me well. They have been a great help, and a great comfort. This is the ONLY place that I trust for my dog's health! Everyone is so sweet and very caring. Look, they are busy people that see so many dogs! But they even know my dog's name. They love him and he loves them! When we are shopping he pulls me back just to say hi to his Banfield buddies! Sunny is very helpful and nice! But the whole staff his great. I've taken my dogs here for multiple things and they are always pleasant. From the front desk, to the doctors, to the checkout, everything is smooth and I always feel comfortable coming to them for advice! I've had them help me through multiple allergic reaction episodes and you would think they would be annoyed by my over worrysome dog mom attitude but no, they always reassure me that I can bring him in anytime I feel like it. I took my dog in because she ripped 2 of her toe nails off, I was told they would at the very least put some quick stop on her bleeding foot and was given her back because they were "too busy". Even the nurses who were supposed to apply it wouldn't see her. They wanted me to leave her there just bleeding and they'd get to her when they had the time. No, that's not OK. I took her home and put corn starch mix on her feet and made sure the bleeding stopped. Come Monday she'll be seeing a real veterinarian to make sure she's OK. When we brought her in to get shots and chipped, at first they moved her appointment three times for "emergencies", then they were rude and in a rush to get her out when we finally got her in and I didn't ever want to bring her back but on Saturday your options are limited. This place is so much better than our old vet! You can tell they really do care about the animals in their care. Not to mention the staff is soooo friendly. One of the assistants actually called us in early because he heard our dog was only 1.7lb and he just HAD to see her, and it's like he was a kid again because of how happy he got. They were so nice and caring for my dog when he needed help. They treated him like he was there own dog not just some customers. Also I love that they check up on your pet after they seen them, it truly shows that they care. I also loved that I got to talk to the vet themselves after the surgery and ask questions and get there feed back. I would recommend them to anyone to take there pets to. West Valley Banfield Pet Hospital is the only place I would take my pets! They are the most caring, sensitive, and provide the highest care possible. My previous veterinarian voiced her dislike for my new dog and asked me to muzzle him. West Valley Banfield has never had any problems with him. He loves going there and they love him.
