We have three wonderful adopted cats and they are all regular patients of the Kingstowne Cat Clinic. They have been treated professionally, compassionately and ethically with wonderful results ever since they were kittens. They done dental work on our cats, boarded them, and recommended a specialist when it was warranted. I am most impressed by the fact that the doctors will not suggest any procedure or test unless it is absolutely necessary. I've had them tell me that we could do a certain procedure or test, but it really will not gain anything of benefit, and why spend the money of you don't need to. These professional ethics are not that common and we are happy to have found an honest and professional practice. We love this place. So do our cats. Read Less

With heavy hearts, we unexpectedly had to make the decision to put our beloved cat down last week, and the entire staff was nothing short of wonderful, supportive, and sympathetic during this time. The vet lent us a childrens' book to help us break the news to our little guys, made sure that the sweet receptionist came into the room to take our payment so we could say goodbye to our cat in our own time, and did not rush us out. Recently, our 21 yr old fur baby crossed the Rainbow Bridge. My husband and I can't thank Kingstown Cat Clinic enough. The sensitivity, compassion and care during that time was amazing. Four months prior during a check up, the staff walked my husband (I was TDY) through the signs of what will happen when the end approached. When he took Smokey in for the last apt, the staff were awesome, asked my husband what we would like to do and even during the emotional time - presented realistic options - which was greatly appreciated. The added touches we did not expect were a blue candle lit in the waiting room to alert people to what was happening and last week - we received a wonderful hand written note from the staff expressing their condolences. I'm not 100% sure how to rate a clinic, so I will stick to a-ok for now! I brought my very sickly rescue baby here for a couple months where they kept wanting to see him again and run all these tests and tell me he had trouble breathing because of physical defects. Finally after months of stressing they decided it was pneumonia and gave us the right meds. Sure enough, he got better and is a happy, healthy, completely bonkers 2-year old. So I know medicine isn't an exact science, but it felt like they were looking for more complicated options when the most likely easy option was right there all along. Their desk staff is always lovely, and I've had good experiences with one vet and not so good experiences with another vet. The vet techs adored my little dude and I felt super comfortable having them work with him. They offer boarding which I have taken advantage of and was quite pleased with the service. I brought in my cats to establish care in 2016. All of my experiences with the staff are fantastic. You can tell that they really love their work and they love cats. I recently had to take one of mine in for a condition. It was swabbed, but in an early stage. I was given options for how to treat the site until the full culture could come back. The vet then called me the next day to tell me that she had been thinking about my kitty the night before, and she had another suggestion, in addition to some of the test results. I was also encouraged to check on the status of the results if I wasn't contacted within a timeframe. This clinic recently took care of our cat as we traveled to South Florida on holiday. They were responsive, caring, arranged for a health certificate from USDA (we are moving overseas tomorrow), and made me feel comfortable. We picked her up yesterday - but, unfortunately she showed signs of diarrhea. We called after hours today and they went above and beyond by bringing a little care package and medicine - gratis! I have nothing but good things to say about Kingstowne Cat Clinic. I've lived in this area for more than 30 years, and had been using a different area vet up until about 2011. (That vet was bought by a corporation and my last experience there was absolutely abysmal. As such, I was looking for a good alternative.) I spent a great deal of the past decade serving overseas with the USG. When I would come home for long periods of time, I was happy to bring my cats to Kingstowne for their check-ups/rabies vaccinations, often with very little notice. The three events that have hooked me as a client forever were:  1. Handling cats. The other clinic doesn't allow owners to be with the cats during procedures. After mishandling one of my cats, they ended up asking me to come in to coax her down from the top of a cabinet. She was so traumatized, they required her to be sedated for all further appointments. Kingstowne always allows me to be with my pets during checkups and procedures, and *never* asks her to be sedated. They are so gentle, she trusts them.2. Health certificates. Going back and forth between foreign assignments, my cats needed special health certificates. Kingstowne knew exactly how to handle the paperwork so that I could get the certificates through APHIS, as required by many foreign governments to import pets.3. In-home euthanasia. My elderly cat was in failing health. Kingstowne vets provided stellar specialized care, allowing her to live several more useful and happy years. When the time came to euthanize her, Kingstowne actually offered in-home euthanasia. I knew that I did not want to make her uncomfortable and scared by taking her to the clinic for her last moments, so they came to me. A vet and a nurse were gentle and talked me through the entire, heartbreaking experience. A week later, I received a condolence card from the clinic, which really underscored how much they understood my loss.I believe that any cat owner can appreciate the special needs that cats have when it comes to healthcare. Kingstowne Cat Clinic is exclusively for cats, and the staff are clearly dedicated to providing high-quality, loving care. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Read Less

I have been taking my cats to this clinic for nearly 21 years now and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Dr. Boos and Dr. Gulledge are simply the most caring, compassionate, and well-versed vets I've ever encountered. I am just getting to know Dr.'s Mosoriak and Chang as they are newer to the practice; but, I have no doubt that they too will be exactly the kind of vets with whom I will trust the lives and well-being of my companions. I currently have 5 rescue cats but have had more over the years who were cared for so well by these doctors. My cats have always been indoor cats and thankfully usually live to very old age. I've gone through cancer, kidney failure, and thyroid disease with various ones and I always knew I could trust what these doctors and vet techs told me. Speaking of vet techs, they and the support staff are also wonderful people who will take the time to answer your questions. Everyone here clearly demonstrates their love of cats. They take the time to discuss your concerns and are very hands on with the cats, but most importantly they are kind and compassionate. I had hoped to have better experiences at this cat-only vet clinic. I paid a fee to have records copied but the vet didn't bother to look at them. Both times we went a few minutes early for Saturday morning appointments, but as the waiting room filled up with miserable cats and stressed my pet out and they were still accepting walk-ins. The last time I went the wait was 40 minutes and the cat was unhappy and uncontainable by the time the vet saw him, so the tech weighed him in his carrier and broke the door hinge somehow. Unfortunately their prices and practices seem pretty average for the area, so I started going a little further to NOVA cat clinic where at least they aren't overbooked. Read Less

We have taken our Siamese cats to Dr. Gulledge. We know her for more than 25 yrs I think. We were military and found her after returning from our 1st tour with Hans & Natasha. Then we had Alexander & Samantha and now we have Max, Gus and our little sister Madalaine. All have brought so much love and life to our daily lives ,all so unique and memorable. The best clinic around! We have 3 cats ranging from the age of 4 months to 11 years. All 3 go here. We currently live in Maryland but drive 40 minutes. We tried a closer vets and I wasn't impressed so we returned to Kingstown Cat Clinic. Everything I come in, they remember who I am and my cats. The vets are truly caring. Kingstowne Cat Clinic is the absolute BEST! I have gone there since they opened and my cats have always gotten exceptional care from Dr. Gulledge and in her absence, Dr. Boos. I also boarded my cat there for many months out of the year for about 3 years and my cat LOVED it there. I fail to realize why people like CalebK think they can come into a shop and start playing the instruments to ""entertain themselves"" Every year music stores lose thousands of dollars in profits because they have to mark down instruments that have been abused by jerks like this. I was present on the night that CalebK came into the store and he was politely asked if he needed any help. His response ""I'm just entertaining myself."" The employee stated that "" the instruments are for sale. If you are interested in buying then we will be glad to let you try out the instument."" I'd bet that if someone walked into CalebK's house and started banging on one of his guitars he would have a fit. But it's okay for him to go into a place of business and bang away on their instruments. Glad that he won't be coming back to our store. Read Less

These guys are great. I'm new to the banjo and a couple of times I've had issues with strings and the way the manufacturer set it up. Twice now, I've taken my instrument down to Kingstowne Acoustic Music and they've made repairs, restrung, etc., free of charge. This is especially nice since I did not buy my banjo from them.
