I wish I could give THIS SPECIFIC VCA ZERO STARS! You pay monthly for its “puppy care” and literally can never have your pet treated. Then they try to say “well we have a $200 urgent care.” Ok fine, can I bring my pet in for urgent care? No BECAUSE THE ONE URGENT CARE DOCTOR LEAVES AT 12pm! And this has happened time and time again. They try to say it’s “Covid!” COVID!? ITS 2022 AND YALL STILL HAVENT ADJUSTED TO COVID!? Lol what a joke of a facility. And y’all It’s only 9am they opened at 8am and the one urgent care doctor is “busy” already until they leave their 4hr shift at noon! I don’t even leave reviews but I love my dog and if you love your pet you will make this specific VCA YOUR LAST RESORT! Lol and actually you can’t make it your last resort they willingly suggest taking your pet to other facilities. (Those facilities aren’t in network with puppy care as puppy care is specific to each facility)

Negligent and dangerous behavior by all staff and the vet on site at 12:00am on February 23rd. They severely endangered both my dog, other dogs present, and their staff’s safety.
Despite explaining over the phone numerous times that my dog is violently reactive to other dogs and being caged due to past trauma and abuse before I rescued him, they caged my dog without communicating this to me and did so in an area with several other dogs.
This was done after we had called and explained his situation and asked to be informed when a room away from other dogs. Still, they caged him, provoking a dangerous situation, anyway, despite numerous patient rooms being available.
Furthermore, the nurse practitioner barged into the room multiple times without knocking or announcing herself, one of those times with a dog literally right behind her.
Abhorrent, unprofessional, and frankly dangerously negligent behavior by the entire staff. No apology. No acknowledgement of wrongdoing. I’ll be filing complaints with the Vet Board.
They shouldn’t be allowed to practice.

Over the years, and more than one pet, the people at VCA have always been so kind and considerate. Two years ago my beloved Errol was ill while I was across the country checking up on my 92 year old father. They called me and did their very best to try to save my boy: they sent me photos of Errol; gave him a transfusion, and finally released him from his suffering. Incredibly VCA did not charge me for his care. I will always use them after this great kindness.

For the past 20 years I have gotten such peace of mind knowing that my cats (my babies) are getting such great care at VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital. I have such great confidence in Dr. Baxter's advice that my husband and I relied on her advice several times as to when we should have a beloved cat put to sleep. That is always a VERY difficult and painful decision.

Went to this vet for a second opinion after my local vet was unable to properly diagnose or devote attention to my suddenly ill cat. VCA was kind, considerate to my financial limitations, and was very patient with explaining every medical treatment option available to me. They also had a flexible schedule that allowed me to work around my hectic work hours. My cat, Meatball, was promptly diagnosed and I was impressed with VCA's dedication to helping my cat in a knowledgeable and efficient manner. Dr. Drake is a fantastic doctor and I feel blessed that I was able to have access to such wonderful medical care. I highly recommend this place!

On Sunday when out for a walk our puppy found a dead rat - although we got the rat out of her mouth before she ate it - we were concerned about any adverse impact on her. We've been taking our pets to Alexandria Animal Hospital for over a decade. And all I can say is I wish we could find as outstanding of health care for ourselves as we have for our pets. The range and quality of care they provide is hard to beat at any other veterinarian. The fact that they are an animal hospital and also there for us if needed for emergencies (which luckily we have never had to take advantage of), is a nice additional layer of comfort knowing they always have us covered when it comes to the health and welfare of our furry family members. They also have a wide range of expertise in house, so we never feel like the care is limited to just the experience and knowledge of one or two doctors in smaller clinics. As a former service member who experienced a lot of veterinarians across our various duty stations, I can easily say Alexandria Animal Hospital is the best care we've ever experienced for our pets.

We have taken our pets to VCA Alexandria for 10 years. We now have a new puppy to add to the pack and VCA has been great as always. It is easy to get appointments. We have used emergency 24-hour services twice with one of our older dogs and they took such good care of her. We have had surgery on the same dog and again, the surgery and post-op care were exemplary. We will be loyal clients as long as we have pets! Thank you to everyone from the doctors, to the technicians to the receptionists to the pharmacy and all-you are always caring, empathetic, professional, and more than capable and we appreciate each and every one of you more than you can imagine!

My family has been going here for decades and have had nothing but wonderful encounters here. I think it is not just luck, but such great attentiveness from AAH that our dogs tend to live really long lives too. My current dog sees Dr. Krochak (as did my previous dogs) and she is awesome. She is very western science based but also is always learning about holistic complementary medical methods. I cannot say enough good things about all of the staff here from the front desk folks to the techs to all of the vets. I have also seen Dr. Baxter, Dr. Terrio, etc. All top notch!
I have also used the Emergency Services and totally trust them.

My Cocker Spaniel, Angel, generally sees Dr. Talbot, but has seen a couple other doctors on occasion. Staff is always warm and professional in their dealings with pet parents. Angel has been a patient at this location for the last 8 years, and we have been very happy here. April 21 2017 a day i will never forget. I had to put my dog of 15 years to rest. I was crying when I called them,crying when I walked through the door, and crying when they explained the procedure, but when they did the procedure it was actually very comforting. Kobe didn't suffer at all. They gently sedated him then the other meds followed. They gave me a quiet room for privacy n allowed me time with him before and after. We went in on a weekend with our sick dog. We definitely did not think it would be the last night we were with our dog. It was obviously an incredibly challenging night, but VCA Alexandria provided the best possible experience given the situation. Our veterinarian, Dr. Dobbin is one of the kindest humans I have ever meet. She completely explained the situation, gave us time and helped us though a very tough time. She even sent us a card a week later. One of the best experiences I have ever had with a place of business. I could not suggest the clinic or Dr. Dobbin highly enough.

We have 3 dogs that all have gone to see Dr. Farrell. She is terrific with them. Very patient and very understanding. We have had to put two out of the three dogs down (old age) and she was very caring and considerate as we did so. She even followed up with a handwritten sympathy card. I can not say enough good things about our experiences with Dr. Farrell and everyone at the VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital. My dog is truly my best friend. I want the very best for him. I highly recommend VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital. They have taken care of our two pups since we adopted them eight years ago. Regular check-ups, unexpected emergency room visits after run-ins with raccoons two years in a row, and surgery to repair a torn ACL have all been performed in an exemplary manner. From the receptionists to the technicians to the veterinarians, everyone has been kind, caring, and professional. They are expensive, but for the care we receive, we are willing to make that sacrifice. They love our pets and we love them!

I have been taking my beloved pets (dogs) to VCA Alexandria Hospital for over 27 years now. The service is friendly and fantastic, the staff and vets are very nice and friendly and caring. They have lots of modern equipment, and it is great that the 24 hour emergency service is there too, so if I have to go for an emergency, they already have my pet on file. I recently had to put one of my dogs to sleep due to severe illness and suffering, and everyone there made it as easy on us as possible at such a difficult time for me. I heartily recommend this veterinary service. It is farther for me to travel, but it is well worth it.

The vets and staff at VCA are among the most professional and courteous that my wife and I have every met. They also saved our dog from certain death after he suffered an episode of torsion. VCA is probably not the cheapest vet in town, but I've never seen better care or service anywhere.

We've been taking our pets to Alexandria Animal Hospital for over a decade. And all I can say is I wish we could find as outstanding of health care for ourselves as we have for our pets. The range and quality of care they provide is hard to beat at any other veterinarian. The fact that they are an animal hospital and also there for us if needed for emergencies (which luckily we have never had to take advantage of), is a nice additional layer of comfort knowing they always have us covered when it comes to the health and welfare of our furry family members. They also have a wide range of expertise in house, so we never feel like the care is limited to just the experience and knowledge of one or two doctors in smaller clinics. As a former service member who experienced a lot of veterinarians across our various duty stations, I can easily say Alexandria Animal Hospital is the best care we've ever experienced for our pets.

We have taken our pets to VCA Alexandria for 10 years. We now have a new puppy to add to the pack and VCA has been great as always. It is easy to get appointments. We have used emergency 24-hour services twice with one of our older dogs and they took such good care of her. We have had surgery on the same dog and again, the surgery and post-op care were exemplary. We will be loyal clients as long as we have pets! Thank you to everyone from the doctors, to the technicians to the receptionists to the pharmacy and all-you are always caring, empathetic, professional, and more than capable and we appreciate each and every one of you more than you can imagine!

My family has been going here for decades and have had nothing but wonderful encounters here. I think it is not just luck, but such great attentiveness from AAH that our dogs tend to live really long lives too. My current dog sees Dr. Krochak (as did my previous dogs) and she is awesome. She is very western science based but also is always learning about holistic complementary medical methods. I cannot say enough good things about all of the staff here from the front desk folks to the techs to all of the vets. I have also seen Dr. Baxter, Dr. Terrio, etc. All top notch!
I have also used the Emergency Services and totally trust them.

My Cocker Spaniel, Angel, generally sees Dr. Talbot, but has seen a couple other doctors on occasion. Staff is always warm and professional in their dealings with pet parents. Angel has been a patient at this location for the last 8 years, and we have been very happy here. I had occasion to need to obtain another vaccine on short notice unexpectedly, and they were kind enough to fit me into the schedule.

April 21 2017 a day i will never forget. I had to put my dog of 15 years to rest. I was crying when I called them,crying when I walked through the door, and crying when they explained the procedure, but when they did the procedure it was actually very comforting. Kobe didn't suffer at all. They gently sedated him then the other meds followed. They gave me a quiet room for privacy n allowed me time with him before and after. They sent me a card a week later and a mold of my dogs paw which made me so happy. If the time ever comes that

I had to go here for an emergency vet call with my dog. The staff was so wonderful and they made his last moments as comfortable as possible. They were fantastic with me and made sure I had enough information to make the best choice for my dog. I will be bringing my animals here from now on.

We had our first visit today with Dr. Sophia Chiang. The front desk staff was wonderful. We only had to wait a few minutes to be called back. Dr. Chiang was so gentle and good with our dog and seems very knowledgeable. The office is under renovation but it was still easy to get in and out. We will definitely be going back.

We went in on a weekend with our sick dog. We definitely did not think it would be the last night we were with our dog. It was obviously an incredibly challenging night, but VCA Alexandria provided the best possible experience given the situation. Our veterinarian, Dr. Dobbin is one of the kindest humans I have ever meet. She completely explained the situation, gave us time and helped us though a very tough time. She even sent us a card a week later. One of the best experiences I have ever had with a place of business. I could not suggest the clinic or Dr. Dobbin highly enough.

We have 3 dogs that all have gone to see Dr. Farrell. She is terrific with them. Very patient and very understanding. We have had to put two out of the three dogs down (old age) and she was very caring and considerate as we did so. She even followed up with a handwritten sympathy card. I can not say enough good things about our experiences with Dr. Farrell and everyone at the VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital. My dog is truly my best friend. I want the very best for him. I can highly recommend Dr. Farrell and the entire staff.

I highly recommend VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital. They have taken care of our two pups since we adopted them eight years ago. Regular check-ups, unexpected emergency room visits after run-ins with raccoons two years in a row, and surgery to repair a torn ACL have all been performed in an exemplary manner. From the receptionists to the technicians to the veterinarians, everyone has been kind, caring, and professional. They are expensive, but for the care we receive, we are willing to make that sacrifice. They love our pets and we love them!

I have been taking my beloved pets (dogs) to VCA Alexandria Hospital for over 27 years now. The service is friendly and fantastic, the staff and vets are very nice and friendly and caring. They have lots of modern equipment, and it is great that the 24 hour emergency service is there too, so if I have to go for an emergency, they already have my pet on file. I recently had to put one of my dogs to sleep due to severe illness and suffering, and everyone there made it as easy on us as possible at such a difficult time for me. I heartily recommend this veterinary service. It is farther for me to travel, but it is well worth it.

The vets and staff at VCA are among the most professional and courteous that my wife and I have every met. They also saved our dog from certain death after he suffered an episode of torsion. VCA is probably not the cheapest vet in town, but I've never seen better care or service anywhere.
