General Info
Village Vet is conveniently located off route 360 in the quaint town of Amelia,Va and operated by Dr. Edda Eliasson. As a veterinarian owned hospital, you can rest assured your animal's best interest is our priority. We see routine appointments for annual check ups and vaccinations, as well as more complex cases requiring surgery and hospitalization. We are proud to offer laser surgery and laser therapy as a progressive option for our clients who want the safest and least painful treatment for their pets. Also, the majority of blood work performed is done in our clinic with the latest diagnostic testing machines available.
Besides providing top quality care for our patients Dr. Eliasson also helps the stray cats of Amelia and the surrounding areas. Each year we take in and find homes for between 200-300 cats/kittens that find themselves in need of either medical attention, a loving home, or both. The surrender fee for a cat/kitten is $95. This fee goes towards testing the cat/kitten for Feline aids and Feline Leukemia, vaccinating for the core feline diseases and rabies and upper respiratory infections, dewormer, checking for and treating ear mites if present, flea preventative, spaying/neutering, proper diet, and housing. If additional surgical procedures are needed they are done with the aim being to get all cats/kittens that are surrendered able to be adopted. Once ready, cats/kittens are taken to an adoption center or can be adopted from us for $95 and any future vaccines or vet visits needed are the new owner's responsibility.

We adopted 2 kittens from PetSmart and discovered they had been previously seen by Village Veterinary Services prior to being put up for adoption. We took one of the kittens back to see Dr. Miller as a follow-up and really liked the way she compassionately and professionally treated it. Even though this veterinary practice is quite a bit farther from our home than the vet we were having care for our other 2 cats we transferred all records from the previous vet to Village Veterinary Services.

Last night Zelda's muzzle began to swell, and she threw up all of her food and treats throughout the early morning hours. And, after I slept for a few hours when I woke up the swelling had increased so much that she looked like a Char Pei / Great Dane in the face so, I took her into the Village Veterinary Service clinic to be checked out. The vet said she was having an allergic reaction to something, and she gave her a Benadryl injection, and a steroid injection along with some Vetadryl tablets. So, I'm hoping that my precious furbaby will be better soon! I highly recommend Village-Veterinary-Service!!! They've been taking care of my dogs for years. Dr. Edda Eliasson is a great vet, and the staff is excellent too!!!

The doctor and entire staff are an amazing group of people that are clearly in a profession that they enjoy. There's a true sense of love when working with your pets and the other pets they foster until they find their fur-ever home. LOVE this place, LOVE it!

Dr. Eliasson is always kind and patient with me and my dog, and she seems to be more of an advocate of gentle treatments, as opposed to vets who are quick to douse a dog in chemicals, over-vaccinate, or perform surgery when more moderate methods are healthier AND less expensive. I trust her opinion! Most of the assistants are also very nice.

I can almost always get an appointment on the same day that I call, and the longest I've ever had to wait was 15 minutes beyond my appt. time, and that was due to an emergency which had come in. They apologized for me having to wait. "Dr. Edda"
is easy to talk to and patient about answering questions. She has a very gentle manner, which puts my pets at ease. I recommend Village Veterinary Services to all of my friends and clients.

Last night Zelda's muzzle began to swell, and she threw up all of her food and treats throughout the early morning hours.
