Caring Hands Animal Hospital in Ashburn is fantastic.  The doctors and staff are really friendly, genuinely caring people who take excellent care of our pets.  So many vets these days push the hard "upsell," getting you to spend hundreds on services that may or may not have real health value for your animal.  Caring Hands does NOT do this - they provide genuine expert advice and a full range of treatment options for a reasonable cost.  Dedicated to our animals health.  This is the way it always used to be!  Love these guys. Caring Hands in Ashburn is incredible!! The girls at the front desk are so sweet and kind, the technicians are as well. All of them, along with the amazing Dr. Rouse took their lunch break to operate on my poor Diesel, who was attacked by another dog late the night before. They got us right in at 9:30am, and even though it was a Saturday, everyone pitched in to help him so I didn’t have to take him to an emergency animal hospital. The Vet Asst. David was so sweet and even lifted my 92lb Diesel into my car. I honestly can’t say enough about the entire office. Just stellar. I am so grateful to have found them, and Diesel is too!! Read Less

Caring Vet for your pet - they will literally get down on the animals level and help them cope with whatever stress, shots, or issues to make the experience a better one. We used to go to Ashburn Village, but they made you wait for no reason, and they started to get really expensive and pushy with their products. The one vet at Caring Hands that specializes in cats is a miracle worker. My one cat Fiona is very skittish and a true scaredy-cat. She was having issues, and he was able to work with a vet tech to clear them up. She's also overweight, and he didn't fat shame her or us for having a fat animal. He offered suggestions if and when we were ready, but he simply worked on the issue at hand that day. I can't tell you how much I appreciate that's sort of care from a medical professional. Also when it's time for our dog to get shots, he also gets really quirky and cries. They discovered the peanut butter and cheese whiz work to distract him. We now use this method when we take him to get his nails clipped, and it works like a charm. When we had to switch animals from one vet to the other, they took care of all the leg work. They call the other Hospital veterinarian, got all the information and paperwork, and were able to work with us from a brand new perspective and eased us into the paper work. I can't recommend them highly enough. If you have to do a rush visit, there is an extra charge of something like $85, but they have late hours during the weekdays, so planning ahead is really no problem. If you're looking for a new vet, or just to try someone out for your furry friend, please consider giving Caring Hands Animal Hospital a try. Read Less

It was my first time owning a pet so I had no idea where to go for a vet. My friend recommended caring hands. She goes to the one in falls church, but I found out they had a location closer to me in ashburn. I took my kitten in for a vet appointment bc the shelter required a vet visit within the first week of adopting. I called to make an appointment and they were very accommodating. I like how they are open later on weekdays and on weekends for people who work! Loki, my cat, and I saw Dr. B and we've been going back to him ever since. He is personable, very thorough in his examinations, very clear when diagnosing anything, and answers any questions that you may have. I had to go back every 4 weeks to get distemper vaccination boosters and a rabies shot at 4 months old. Being a new pet owner, every visit I had several new questions (I'm sure some of them were dumb) but Dr. B answered all of them and didn't make me feel stupid. He even clipped Loki's nails for me bc it was so hard for me to, and gave some nutri-cal Loki to lick while administering shots. The vet techs and front desk staff are also very nice and provided some cat treats for Loki bc he was nervous being at the vet and hearing barking dogs. Read Less

I've been bringing my English Bulldog to this Caring Hands location for a little over a year. I took her in for an emergency visit last week because her breathing seemed a little labored. It got worse after we arrived and she went into cardiac arrest while they were examining her. Dr. Bruzzese and the staff remained calm, administered medicine, and literally saved my dog. Her heart rhythm stabilized enough for me to transport her to the animal hospital where they admitted her, diagnosed her, and prescribed long-term medication. A week later, she's her old self! We went back to Caring Hands for our follow up today, and not only did the entire staff come to greet her but they all told me they were keeping tabs on her progress through the notes being sent over by the hospital. I'm forever indebted and so thankful that my vet and the entire staff care about my girl as much as I do. Read Less

We took my dog, Ginger here for I think as long as we have lived here, which is around 7 or so years I think. Anyways, they always treated Ginger so nicely, and even though she was scared, they were very gentle and would talk to her as they did her checkups. In April, we had Ginger put down here as well, and I know it is a grim topic, but Ginger was 15, and suffering. I'm glad that we had her put down here, as they were very good to her in her final moments, making her as comfortable as possible, even getting her to perk up, when she was trembling in fear just a moment before. They gave her some yummy food, which got her tail wagging, and they gave us quite a bit of time, and tissues to say our goodbyes. A few minutes before she was given the injection that would euthanize her, she was given an injection that relaxed her. I haven't seen her look that peaceful in a long while, and when she was given the final injection, she just kind of..went to sleep, permanently. That's pretty much what it was like, it was painless, quick, and peaceful. I certainly recommend this place for vet care, as the staff do a good job, and are kind to both you and your animals. RIP Ginger. Read Less

Went in on Tuesday, I'm still waiting for the results from blood work on my cat and it is now Saturday. When I called them on Friday (after the day or two I was told I should hear back), I'm told one of the other Veterinarians can take a look and call me back in 24 to 48 hours. This after I stated I didn't want to wait until Monday when the one who saw her would return. So while I wait, I am having to continue to listen to my cat meowing like she's a crying baby with nothing I can do to help her. I would like to note that I've been coming here with no problems for years before now. I even referred a friend here before she moved out of the area. Read Less

I recently moved about 15 minutes away from Rockville and was looking for a new vet for my pets for a little while. Little did I know my kitty wanted to go to the vet sooner than she needed to and ate some plastic that got lodged in her intestines and needed to be surgically removed. I was able to get a same day, evening appointment which I know are hard to come by. The office is clean and modern and I love the fact that they keep the cat and dog areas separate. The receptionist was so, so nice and seemed genuinely interested and kind to my cat. The tech was nice and respected the fact that her records indicated she is not fond of the vet- so VERY true. The vet, Dr. Streck, was absolutely incredible. I cannot say enough good things about her. She was gentle and thorough, went over everything before it was done to make sure I was ok with it, including an estimate of the cost. But the really amazing thing was that when it was apparent that my cat needed surgery and the doctor had no surgery technicians available, another tech from one of the VA locations offered to drive up to help with the surgery. This is how dedicated they are and I simply could not thank them enough. My kitty is fine now and I will definitely be back with my dog for his annual appointment in a few months. I am so thrilled I found Dr. Streck and I now recommend her to everyone I know.Read Less

If I could give more than 5 stars for this review, I would. Without going into a long story, I ended up at Caring Hands twice this past week, and unfortunately, the 2nd time was to have my kitty euthanized. I cannot even begin to put into words the compassion, the understanding, the professionalism, that was exhibited by the entire staff at Caring Hands. From the moment we walked in the door and gave our name, the girls that greeted us and took us immediately to the room offered their condolences and assistance in whatever way they could. Dr. Ventociila (accompanied by Dr. Neumann), not only made us feel that we were making the right decision, they went at our pace, they explained every detail, they stayed with us, and they even cried with us. They all made the entire, heartbreaking experience, as bearable as it could possibly have been. When the time comes that I am ready to adopt another cat, I will not go anywhere else for their medical care! Thank you Caring Hands staff for not just providing a service, but doing so in such a loving, caring, professional manner.Read Less

We recently relocated to the area and needed to get our dog vaccinated, we decided on Caring Hands as they were the closest to our residence. We will not be going back to this establishment ever! Our dog was CHOCKED , she URINATED HERSELF, and when we asked this man who was mis handeling her to let her go, he continued with the chocking until my husband firmly told him that he will push him off our dog if he does not move away. This man then started to tell us that no one can tell him how to work with animals as it is his profession (he was not even a vet), and he will be leaving the room. When my husband opened the door for him to leave, he blocked it and then threatened my husband that he will phone the police because my husband was fiscally touching him , deciding now that mis handling animals is not enough but provoking their owners is now the best cause of action. (my husbands arm was touching his arm, my husband had the dog on her leash in one hand and the door in the other) We as so many other pet lovers adopted our dog, we take her for training we spend time with her and now we will have to once again have to go through rehabilitation because of this mans arrogance and incompetence. I have a very special girl named Zuri; a 2.5 year old rescued, deaf, pit bull. She doesn't do well with strangers, let alone vets or techs. I came to Caring Hands initially because I happen to know one of the assistants, Jillian. Zuri loves Jillian and I knew she could help to make Zuri feel comfortable during her visit. Since our first visit (been back 3 times now!) Zuri has gotten more and more comfortable with the assistants, techs, and our vet, Dr. Rouse. They are completely understanding of Zuri's situation, but still have given her a chance. She has opened up to them beautifully and each time we visit, it gets easier and easier. I used to dread going to the vet's office with Zuri, but now I know there is a supportive team who are willing to work with her and try anything necessary to keep her healthy. I absolutely love this office! I drive 40 minutes out of my way just to go there. Highly recommend! And a HUGE THANK YOU to Dr. Rouse, Jillian, Dan, and everyone else at Caring Hands. You guys rock! My experiences are based on years of trusting them to care for my beloved pets. The front desk staff are kind and courteous and always welcome you with a smile. My pets and I love the Vet assistants as they seem to truly love the animals they are caring for. I do not have the qualifications to 'review' the clinical competency of the Vets, however I can say that in many years of service they have never truly cured any ailment. They have solicited and performed countless diagnostic tests at significant cost and suffering to my pets. None of which have ever resulted in a single diagnosis and treatment plan that led to the management or cure of the original complaint. This leaves me with the perception that they are more focused on revenues than anything else.

Read Less
