Alabama left out of this vet hospital not having cherry eye any more. Chenault veterinary hospital did more than a great job... they didn't just fix my dogs eye but they really cared for him too. Horrible location. My husband and I took our cat for a lion's cut due to mats. They claim no responsibility but they clipped the ends of my cat's left whiskers. I would understand admitting to it being accidental but they claim to have done nothing to them. And the crappy groomers just conveniently claim to remember that "they were already that way." We've had this cat for 2 years. And that's the first thing I noticed when we took her out of the crate. There's absolutely no accountability at this location. Considering how sloppy the cut was, it seems like they just hire off-the-street groomers with no professional training. Shameful! Read Less

went to the self serve dog wash area. It is a great $6 for 10 minutes wash with a dryer. the sprayer needs to be fixed since it sprays outward, otherwise it would have gotten a 5 star. I recommend this place! Read Less

I am beyond pissed ....I get a call from my mom freaking out saying that mama cat is hurt and she thinks she was hit by a car so we rush her to Bell Creek vetinary hospital which is where she has been cared for and the two receptionist at the desk don't even get off their lazy butt and then they tell me that they don't have a doctor working today and that they couldn't see her I told them she has blood running down her legs and she can't move!! And we don't know if she was hit by a car or if it's because of her kidney issues cause she's old the one receptionist giggled at me saying she's old and the other said oh well we could maybe have her come back at 4!!! It was 2:00 at that time I told them she wouldn't even make then she said oh well go to the place on broad Street they can maybe squeeze u in as mama cat is in the back of the car in pain . So we rush to Hanover green cause it's the next close vets and they said a animal had attacked her and the animal ripped off her skin, meat , and rectal area and she would need to be put to sleep but .it was wrong for them to treat this situation like they did especially to be coming from people who works for a vet becaause they love animals ....I called to complain and they called back the next day and kept making excuses for employees that I dealt with ...and I'm suppose to be getting a call from the owner I have yet to received a call ...because of this I will never ever return and my suggestion to anybody who is trying to find a vet or goes to this vet I would recommend Hanover green they were so compassionate about the situation they even told others to wait they had a emergency. Plus the person I spoke to with management said they were receptionist and couldn't do anything with the animal I guess trying to back them up but that's a lie because I take my dog there and the one has given my dog shots so you mean to tell me that you have unlicensed people giving shots??Read Less

I have taken both of my dogs to the ladysmith hospital for many years for their yearly checkups, vaccinations, medical care and even grooming at times. Lately, I have only had bad experiences. The staff here has changed and I longer will take any of my pets there or refer them. My 11 year old lab was diagnosed with lymphoma and instead of the veterinarian calling me to give me the blood work results, they had an assistant call me and tell me that he likely had cancer. The assistant couldn't answer any of my questions and told me that the veterinarian wasn't available to speak to me on the the phone about it. This was after 2 weeks of appointments, seeing different veterinarians and a lot of money spent for his care. All the assistant told me was to have him checked out quickly by "someone". I asked him who they used for oncology and the assistant didn't know. So, I took my sweet lab back to our old vet in stafford who thoroughly checked him out, reviewed the aspiration report, confirmed lymphoma, gave me treatment options, the name of a veterinary oncologist and spent a lot of time with my boy. Ladysmith veterinary hospital never called us back to set up an appointment or check on the dog. Unfortunately, our lab deteriorated quickly and we used a lap of love veterinarian to put him down in our home. We could not allow our sweet Jake to suffer and be in pain. I called ladysmith hospital to let them know that we had put Jake down because of seizures and that his ashes would be returned to them. The lady that answered the phone assured me that they would call us when the ashes were delivered.  That was 3 weeks ago. I called the pet crematory this morning and they told me that the ashes were delivered to ladysmith 2 weeks ago and were signed for by a lady named Ashley. When I called ladysmith this morning, Ashley answered the phone, confirmed the ashes were there and said oh just pick them up anytime. I asked why we had not been called and she said she didn't know. The whole experience not only shows a complete lack of professionalism but also a complete lack of care and compassion. Learning that a beloved pet has cancer is very difficult. You need to be able to trust that your veterinarian will help you seek the necessary care for your pet and help you with the very hard decisions that you will ultimately face. The animal hospital did not even care enough to let us know our beloved dogs ashes had been sitting there for 2 weeks. Read Less

I made an appointment last week to bring my dog in over the weekend. He's had skin allergies and I've spent the last 6 months or so working with him. He seemed to be getting better but in the last month has again lost hair and his skin was extremely dry and itchy. The vet looked him over and made a few recommendations. She wanted to do an ear swab and I asked if they would cut his nails. When she came back she let me know he had an ear infection so she was going to see what they had to treat him.I asked that she give me a few pills to make it thru the weekend but asked that she write me a few prescriptions because I was trying to save a bit of money. When she came back she handed me a white bag with two pill bottles in it and sent me on my way. When I got to the front desk the girl let me know that my bill was $215.28, which seemed really high based on what I came in for so I asked to see the invoice. This is what it said: Office Visit $71.48 Nail Trim $18.22 Lab - Ear cytology $23.11 Malotic/Otibiotic 15gm Dropper $33.82 Ear Cleansing Solution 8oz $27.29 Prednisone 20mg (Qty 3) $17.83 ($5.94 per tablet) Rilexine Chew Tab 600mg (Qty 6) $23.53 ($3.92 per tablet) I was glad I asked for the invoice before I paid because I was charged for Otibiotic Drops and Ear Cleansing solution. Neither were in my bag and I had prescriptions in hand for them both. I had to ask them to take them off of my bill. I then noticed the price they were charging PER PILL for the few I'd gotten and knew this was excessive so I also asked these be taken off my bill as well. I called Wal-Mart on my way home. They had Prednisone 20mg - (qty 14 tablets) for $6.99 - which was almost the cost of one pill at the vet. They also mentioned they had a substitute to the Rilexine that they said they prescribe all the time for dogs although they were 40mg tabs. They wanted to know if they should call the vet to see if it was okay to substitute this item. They were going to fill the entire prescription for $4.00 (versus the $3.92 per tablet that the vet was going to charge me). I've just found out that the vet told them they could not make the substitution unless they offered a 600mg option. The pharmacist explained they only had a 500mg tab but the vet said no, it had to be 600mg. On top of all of this - the last time I came to this vet my office visit charge was $55.32 - a bit less than the charge this time of $71. When I initially went in to talk about my dogs skin condition earlier in the year the vet said we could use a shampoo or pills but she would highly recommend I try the shampoo first because there were terrible side effects to the pills. I didn't realize until I got to the register with my white bag that they had put a $50 bottle of these pills that they had just told me had terrible side effects along with the shampoo. Thank gosh I realized this before I paid - I had to ask them to take the pills back as I would never feel comfortable giving them to my dog. Unfortunately, things like this have not given me a lot of trust in this practice. They might be awesome but I would recommend paying attention, know your options and let the pet owner beware!! This place is awesome! After noticing my dog wasn't feeling well for two days, I decided he needed to see a vet. I called Chenault because thats where my parents have always taken their dogs ever since I was little. I called Monday morning and they got him in that afternoon. Not knowing what was wrong with our pup we were very scared for him. I could tell from the start they genuinely cared about his well being. They listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed, which means a lot. After two days of hospitalization our Hoagers is back home and doing so much better!! I cant thank you all enough for taking such great care of our pup and getting him healthy again. I definitely recommend this vet to anyone with furbabies! Read Less

I worked here for a month or so, they hire 18 year old kids, to give medication to the dogs not all the dogs get the poper meds, or get to be walked, i have seen one dog being hit by another worker! also the dogs on the weekend they feed and water your dogs in the am and walk them but at 3:30 4pm they walk and feed your dog then lock it up till the next morning at 8am. thats over 13 hours your dog has to hold its blatter. i also seen a dog that was reporterd by animal control that the dog had been hit by a car, when the dog arrived it wasnt hit by a car there was more problems, inside the dog. the poor dogs head was trying to go backwords legs were stiff, trying to get up over and over while crying it was the worst thing i have ever seen. Doctor Honara Reager was working on Sunday October 26 the dog arrived at almost 10am she did xrays and tests to find out cause of the dog illness, notgiving pain meds at frist but at the end in a low dosage. Me being an animal lover this hard for me to see the dog when she was done she put 2 blankets for the dieing dog to lay on, then she called animal control for update on dying dog. no answer so she left a message, then went to lunch she never came to check on the dog i witness the pain the dog was in it will huat me forever that this doctor let this dog be in pain for over 6 hours then she sent him to the lord, at the same time a cat had been brought into the hosptial that cat was unthized right on the spot he was reported to been hit by a car to.. i didnt see how bad the cat was. Doctor Reager should be watched she doesnt care for the animals. this hosptial doesnt care, the things i have witnessed with the other dogs poeples dogs. you dont know what your paying for! This place Will Rip you off. both the dog and cat had no family. poor animal suffer here, I got fired for calling hanover county on the dog and its suffering on sunday an hour before the pup finally had no pain. if you can help me bring justice to this place, everything is on record.
