It really does matter where you take your pets! I have a yellow lab that never seemed to have any energy and I could barely walk him. I had to pull his leash. Over the course of a few years the vet we had attended ran several diff tests and then eventually gave us another list worth of tests totally 1500 with no direction. Like shooting arrows in the dark. We drove an extra 20 min and took him to this vet. during the first visit he figured it was one of two diseases and by the second visit the dr nailed down what was wrong with our dog! My dog has addison's disease, which could have killed him and now he act like a puppy again. This vet rocks! Read Less

Front desk person was awesome! The doctor and assistant I did not feel comfortable with. They said my dog needed surgery before seeing the X-rays. And this was the first time meeting them. After that they wanted me to do all these things that require lots of money which seem offput. Read Less

This is a fantastic animal hospital. We have an elderly dog and we feel Dr. Margolis gives the best care possible. He is quite patient, knowledgeable, and we feel never suggests treatments unless necessary. The staff is always pleasant and professional as well. Also we never have to wait long periods for our appointments. They are usually right on schedule. Overall I'd recommend this hospital to anyone who cares deeply for their pet. Read Less

My elderly dog had a growth on her back that was concerning me and I was so lucky to find Centreville Square. From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and sincerely cared for. Oh NO!  Tuesday morning I awoke to a loud THUD as the 10 year old dog keeled over and shook.  We needed a vet and quick.  Our regular vet was no longer an option -- a recent cat visit had shown us that it was under new management and, well, it was not the same.  So, my SIL recommended the vet who had helped her save a stray cat that had "adopted" her --   Centreville Square Animal Hospital!  And, what a GOOD decision that proved to be as this week long odyssey unfolded.  We were given an appointment at a convenient time the SAME DAY when we called in as new customers.  Dr. A examined our dog and recommended labwork, as well as laid how tests he could do there and what would require a consult with a specialist.  But. first step was the lab work.  Preliminary results were back early the next morning (Wednesday) and the vet on duty called us to discuss.  The following morning (Thursday) the rest of the results came in and Dr. A was on the phone to us, asking us to come back for an xray and ultrasound.  Again were seen promptly at a time convenient for us. And, Dr. A took the time to take us back and show us the films -- fully describing what he saw and what options were now on the table.  In a nut shell, the poor dog had more than one thing going on and neither one had a good prognosis.  We went home to consider our options.  On Friday afternoon, we made our decision and once again, we were accommodated with a convenient appointment on Saturday morning.  The end was peaceful -- we were given privacy and not rushed in any way.  And, importantly, the price of every service, test and recommended treatment was discussed in advance -- no surprises here.   Overall, I cannot adequately describe how amazing this entire journey was with Centreville Square Animal Hospital who had never even known us one week earlier.  Give them a try, you won't be disappointed, either. I have gone here twice with my cat and they have helped him both times. The first time I was able to get a free office visit which was a factor in deciding to take my cat here. They also offer pet care packages which are nice to an extent but they do not cover meds which would be great. The package prices are ok priced however, I do find if you have an older pet the price seems a bit high. The staff is nice and friendly. They also take care credit which is very nice and they were able to work out a payment plan with me the last time I was there as I did not have enough on my care credit or money to pay the full amount. The only complaint I have is that the first time I asked the vet if she could tell how old my cat was (he was a stray so I had no idea) she guessed about 5 years old, well when I went back the second time she now said he was at least 10 years old. What that makes no sense? I decided to get the pet care package so I wonder if they said he was older so I would have to pay more money for the older pet package. Not a huge fan of this facility. We used to take our Chihuahua here and we only returned because of the affordable puppy services package at the time. My first impressions with the vet were not great. She was pushy on things we could not afford on the spot and was a horrible listener. The experience was not genuine or helpful for our little Chihuahua. I've been to a few great vet clinics in the general area and I suggest going here as a last resort. We've been going to Centreville Square Animal Hospital since they opened - about 25 years ago.  Over this time, our a 5 dogs have seen all of the doctors and they've all been great - knowledgeable, caring, gentle.  They've handled everything for us from puppies to geriatrics from ear infections to cancer.  The doctors speak to us in caring, compassionate and informative ways.  When it comes to vets, it doesn't get any better than this. My dog eat about 4.5 ounces of chocolate yesterday and after inducing vomiting she seemed ok, until later last night/this morning when she couldn't stop puking and eventually started puking blood. I was obviously very worried and called them to see if they could take me without an appointment asap. Everyone I talked to seemed very nice and understanding of the urgency and they squeezed me in between their other appointments. I realize this was a big cutesy since I could hear them apologizing for the tardiness to the next person when I left the place, but it wasnt their fault, it was mine for not being careful with my chocolate. I really appreciated Dr. Margolis' patience and his help recommending the medication to get my dog healthy once again. I didn't feel rushed, pushed for any extra services or products, and felt like he really cared about my dog feeling better. Also despite being squeezed in last minute, didn't have to wait long at all to get seen or for them to administer medication. The price for everything was not bad either, much less than I expected, and they waived my consultation fee since it was my first time there. I seriously have no understanding why people can't do their jobs! If you are scared of cats don't be a vet! My cat has possible nerve damage! From possible over sedation! Do not take your animal to Centreville Animal Square! they are incompetent ignorant don't care about your animals well being. Unless of course they are dogs! He said he responds better with dogs! What doctor says to you a refund will not fix her jumping properly again? You can imagine my response to the ignorance. They said I'm sorry you feel that way! When I moved to this area I needed a vet. Let me tell u I am  glad I found them. The Doctors are very nice and so are the front desk people. I can call for advise and I get it without being charged. Oh and they are not pricey at all. I used to go to another vet and paid double. Now I moved out of the area but I still continue to make a 20 min drive to get the best care for my dog! Read Less

I decided to take my puppy here because we adopted him and had a certificate for a free physical exam after reading some positive reviews I thought why not. The place was pretty clean and in a convenient location. But we had to wait about 30 minutes. When we finally did go in the vet who first helped us was really friendly but the vet that came in after was a bit odd. He didn't say a word while he examined our dog and didn't seem very concerned. He proceeded to tell us he had a mild ear infection and offered a treatment there but didn't provide much information. I asked the receptionist after and the medicine was $50?? For an ear infection??? Overall his attitude was a bit off putting and didn't seem genuine. Maybe a long day at work?? Or maybe he knew we had a certificate and weren't paying??? I picked Centreville Square Animal Hospital based on it's convenient location relative to our home. We've only used their services twice, but I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Villar and everyone else there. Our cat had an obstructed bladder, and thanks to her quick assessment and treatment, Dr. Villar really did save him. It was very obvious that she truly cares about her animal patients and their owners. They have wonderful hours, fits into a busy work week. They always have great availability and if they don't they will squeeze you in where needed. I have used them for 6 years now. First with my boxer until his passing and now with my Amstaff. They are great with the animals. I visited to this place with my two cats for their ear infection checkup. Very knowledgeable and caring staff. This is a good hospital. It is a bit on the pricey side but they offer good care and have equipment that some other pet hospitals don't (probably why they are a bit pricey). This is the only vet hospital I'm aware of that will take your cat's blood pressure, for example.I've never had a bad encounter with a doctor here. That being said, I moved and now use a different animal hospital.Also, I would not take the bad review from "Yvette" seriously. She sounds awfully entitled, expecting a vet to cancel his scheduled time off just to see her as a new client. Vets are people too -- and are allowed to take time off sometimes.
