We have always had superb care with our dogs at Deepwood Vet Clinic. We have also boarded our dogs at Deepwood and that has also gone very well. I very much appreciate that a vet is available should a boarded dog have any issues. Recently our new adopted dog, Harper, was diagnosed with skin allergies. Dr Pool treats both our dog and cat. She is simply wonderful and always follows up with us. We've had some serious scares and the staff are so kind and responsive. I cannot say enough good things about Deepwood Veterinary Clinic and all the well-trained, dedicated, kind people who work there. When my little Boo came from the shelter, she had many health issues. The wise, thoughtful, and helpful doctors, technicians, and front desk staff always responded quickly and knew exactly what to do. They got my Boo back on track quickly and have, by the grace of God and their dedication, kept her on track for 5 1/2 years. When we had to put our recent rescue down, Dr. Poole and Dr. Roberts and techs were so caring and treated my family as though we were part of their family. They gave us as much time as we wanted with Bandit until we were ready to let go. You're never really ready to put down a beautiful creature such as Bandit, but they treated him with so much love and support. After Bandit went to the rainbow bridge, they made a print of his paw prints, wrapped him up so nicely in his little casket, and brought him back to us. They offered to escort us out the back so we wouldn't see anyone as we left with him. So caring and supportive in our decision to take away Bandit's pain, but also gave us all the complications he could've had had we went through with the surgery. Made us feel comfortable in any decision we would make. A few days later, we received a lovely card signed by the entire staff, and also a personal note from Dr. Poole saying how lucky Bandit was to have found us and what a loving home we brought him into. Tucker is an 18 month old 120lb Johnson American Bulldog and had been having some intestinal distress (politely put) for the last week. Unusual for it to go on that long. I was concerned that he had blockage which can be very serious. Took him to Deepwood in Centreville and they took great care of him. He's a very good boy but does have serious white coat anxiety and can be a handful at the vet. Dr Ryle and the staff was great with him. Nothing serious and left with some meds and probiotics. I've used Deepwood for 55 years since Doc Mauser took care of our dogs and horses when I was a kid. We boarded my big dogs there when I raced and they'd just put them in a horse stall. He's gone but his daughter in law owns and runs it now. My daughter Courtney worked there when she was in HS. Highly recommend them if you need a vet in NoVA. Read Less

There are closer places I could go but Deepwood is worth a little extra driving. They take great care of my dog. Very helpful, caring and informative. Dr Pool always provides options and recommendations: this should really be done soon, this can wait, this is optional, etc. She also calls personally with follow up info. Incredibly dedicated. Witnessed the receptionist April lie in November to a customer who was waiting on the phone to talk to the Doctor. She placed the call on hold, pretended to act busy then pick up the phone and say that the Doctor was on the other line. Turned to her co-worker after hanging up and said "it really looked like I tried right?!" "Did you like it?" In front of me and my brother. I was shocked that such blatant disregard to customer service was done in front of us. This was not the first time I had seen April act rudely, as my brother and mother had also been on the tail end of her attitude during scheduling. I used to be a client here when they had a double wide trailer, but left promptly in 2008 due to the outrageous prices and unforeseen charges I would get. It's very sad that customer service is no longer a concern of this practice. I will say the Veterinanrians are very competent and award winning, but the front desk needs an overhaul. In three days Deepwood saw all seven of my cats. They took excellent care of them and have helped me nurse them all back to health. Within a week two of my cats had surgeries. We have been using Deepwood Veterinary Clinic for almost twenty years for both our cat and dogs. We have been impressed by both their level of knowledge and their compassion. We spend six months a year in Florida and when a serious problem arose with our dog and we didn't agree with the Florida vet's opinion Dr. Poole returned our call and spent an hour discussing the situation with us. This clinic has been so wonderful and caring to me and my pets. They are compassionate, knowledgeable and efficient. They took care of my Cocker Spaniel when she had chronic ear infections and cured her when other vets did not. Later when she developed Cancer they did everything they could and were so compassionate to me. The entire staff were involved and took very good care of my beloved Kylie right to the very last day. From reception to Veterinarian they are the best. I love that they have an exotic pet specialist. I have taken 2 bunnies and 2 guinea pigs for neutering with no problems. Easy to drop off and pick up. Coffee in the waiting area (water fountain would be nice). Reasonable costs for service. I brought my 5 year old mix to get all his updated shots and a general checkup. The facility is a little hard to find, but found it very clean and well equipped. Any vet is capable of giving shots, but after speaking to everyone there, it was clear that they have a higher level of care and concern for their customers and patients.
