I have been taking my red, miniature dachshund to Dr. Carrico for 10 yrs. and she has been nothing shy of consistent in caring for my pet. Dutchess seems to enjoy her experience with her and the staff. Speaking of the staff, Dr. Carrico has surrounded herself with a mirage of folks that love and care for my animal as if she were their own. I would recommend without hesitation Animal Medical to anyone looking for quality veterinary healthcare.

My boyfriend and I just rescued an abandoned kitten at my work, and we were looking for a place that could take her within the first few days to make sure she didn't need any immediate attention. Animal Medical in Chesapeake had openings and great reviews so we decided to take her there. When we walked in, immediately I could tell we made the right choice. There were pets waiting patiently to be seen, and they called each one by name which I found adorable. The vet and assistant were amazing and took the time to check her over and see her mannerisms and answered every over-protective question I had about her. They also offer a care plan for kittens/puppies that make it financially easier to get all of her shots/tests/etc done with monthly payments rather than a large lump sum all at once. Overall, this vet clinic that we chose almost last minute proved to be the best choice we made and our kitten will be going here for all of her visits. They even sent us a text message the following day to see if we had any additional questions and to check on how she was doing. I give them 10 out of 10 and definetly recommend. The staff are amazing and have a true passion for animals that shines through the moment you walk through the door.

My various cats – ranging in age from a 6-week-old kitten to a 13-year-old senior – have been patients at Animal Medical Clinic for over a decade. Dr Carrico, Dr Oberlander, and their staff have consistently provided knowledgeable compassionate care; the overall office atmosphere is always upbeat and positive. Regardless of whether the issue is general feline health, behavioral concerns, or serious diagnoses such as lymphoma, the doctors always take time to thoroughly explain treatment strategies and educate me on how to better care for my feline family members. My dogs have been cared for by Dr. Carrico and Dr. Oberlander for over three years now. They are incredibly patient with my nervous/timid dogs and have helped them become less nervous over time. It is always a positive experience. I trust them and I know they have our best interest in mind at all times. I've always appreciated that I never feel rushed during my appointments with them; they take the time to listen to everything and truly check in with how my dogs are doing mentally and physically.
