DOCTORS:
-Dr. Dana Kent and her husband, Dr. Scott Sears graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. Both entered into small animal practice following vet school. Over the years, Dr. Sears found that he enjoyed the fast-paced world of emergency veterinary medicine, while Dr. Kent preferred to be the "family practice" veterinarian. After 9 years in different practices, Dominion Veterinary Hospital was born, officially opening in June 2000. Both doctors wanted to create a practice that was more than just a business, but one that created an extended family. Over the years, the mesh of Dr. Kent working full-time and Dr. Sears working part-time, along with a dedicated staff, we have been able to achieve our goal. To create a practice where quality veterinary medicine and surgery are performed along with a friendly, relaxed, and professional manner towards our clients. -The staff at Dominion Vet may very in age and experience, but they all are here to serve our clients and our patients. Working in a veterinary hospital takes on many different roles. They are receptionists, assistants, animal caretakers, cleanup crews, a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. Typically before you have reached the doctor, you have been greeted by the receptionist and attended to by an assistant. These people help to create the first impression and to set the 'tone' for one's visit. Some special staff members have been with the Doctor Team from the start...the clinic cats Noah, Jessie and Spooky.

Unfortunately i have nothing good to say! I have 2 dogs and when i called to schedule appointment for their annual shots the reception told me that it will cost around 200 $. Well after the appointmen...
Unfortunately i have nothing good to say! I have 2 dogs and when i called to schedule appointment for their annual shots the reception told me that it will cost around 200 $. Well after the appointment i was surprised with nearly 600$ bill and when i tried to dispute it the receptionist just said that he have made a mistake! Also I was charged for heart warm test I didn’t authorized to be performed.
I think they are really overpriced!

The staff at Dominion have always taken great care of all of our animals. We have had our share of emergencies and trying cases, and Dr. Kent and staff have always provided our animals the highest quality of care. Dr. Kent treats all patients like they were her own animals. She has even called and messaged after hours to check up. I would never consider taking my animals to another vet!

Clean office, nice staff, great vet, fair prices, availability in an urgent situation. My cat had a large swelling in her neck and jaw yesterday. (she was fine the night before). I was concerned it was an abcessed tooth. I called several local vet offices- most couldn't get her in today, or if they could, it was more expensive. Dominion got her in within an hour. I made a quick note that they had great reviews online, too. The front desk staff/ techs were nice. Dr Kent was great- compassionate, explained everything (including prices) checked out everything I had other questions about. My cat had a fever and was in pain, but Dr Kent was able to calm her and examine her carefully. After she shaved her neck, she found the source of the problem- two puncture wounds. Meds were given, and my cat is on her way to getting better. I will use Dominion Vet Hospital from now on in while I live in Chesapeake. On a side note- my old vet's office from many years ago in Elizabeth City would have been able to get her in right away, too- but it would have been an hour drive with a hurting cat. The local emergency vets in the Greenbriar area would also have been able to see her right away.

This place is wonderful! You are in and out with no stress. The people there actually care about your animals in all shapes and sizes. I recommend this vet very much. The only thing I am not a huge fan of is they have a kitten running around. It is like the vet cat, my dog doesn't like cats, my concern is there may be a dog that gets loose and something could happen to the baby. But, I will not stop coming here because of that.

On Tuesday, June 7th, I had an excellent experience with the staff at Dominion. It started the day before when they were very understanding and accomodating with allowing me options for bringing my cat, Alley, in to have his nails trimmed. He has a history of resisting and being difficult. The staff was encouraging, and pleasant. They spent less than 10 minutes and reported he did fine. I was so pleased. The staff is very well trained and I appreciate their dedication to treat Alley in an excellent manner. My previous vet told me he had to be sedated with a blood sample to prove the sedation would be safe before trimming his nails. I'll only use Dominion. Thank you, Hilarie Vetere

Dr. Kent was very practical with her assessment of the situation and the treatment she provided. She really seemed to care about the well-being of my pet and he's back to normal!

Clean office, nice staff, great vet, fair prices, availability in an urgent situation. My cat had swelling in her neck and jaw yesterday. I was concerned it was an abcessed tooth. I called several local vets- most couldn't get her in that day (next available was Monday- three days later), or if they could, it was more expensive. Dominion got her in within an hour. The front desk staff/ techs were nice. Dr Kent was great- compassionate, explained everything (including prices). My cat had a fever and was in pain, but Dr Kent was able to calm her and examine her carefully. After she shaved her neck, she found the source of the problem- two puncture wounds. Meds were given, and my cat is on her way to getting better. I will use Dominion Vet Hospital from now on.

This place is wonderful! You are in and out with no stress. The people there actually care about your animals in all shapes and sizes. I recommend this vet very much. The only thing I am not a huge fan of is they have a kitten running around. It is like the vet cat, my dog doesn't like cats, my concern is there may be a dog that gets loose and something could happen to the baby. But, I will not stop coming here because of that.

The staff was very nice as were the doctors. The doctor who took care of our dog was super sweet and you could tell he absolutely loves animals. He was quick and practical with his care. Overall great...

On Tuesday, June 7th, I had an excellent experience with the staff at Dominion. It started the day before when they were very understanding and accomodating with allowing me options for bringing my cat, Alley, in to have his nails trimmed. He has a history of resisting and being difficult. The staff was encouraging, and pleasant. They spent less than 10 minutes and reported he did fine. I was so pleased. The staff is very well trained and I appreciate their dedication to treat Alley in an excellent manner. My previous vet told me he had to be sedated with a blood sample to prove the sedation would be safe before trimming his nails. I'll only use Dominion. Thank you, Hilarie Vetere

My scottie, Mcduff, has used this vet since his birth! He has received the best of care in all stages of life from Dr Kent and their staff. Highly recommend them!

Love Dr. Kent and all the staff at Dominion Veterinary Hospital. They take good care of my 17 year old Frankie cat. Jodi did amazing job today getting rid of those awful mats. Love you guys!

I love Dominion Vet!! Dr. Kent & staff r very helpful! When u need for your pet to be seen, you don't have to wait! They will take you the same day! My baby, Precious Jackson been going to Dr. Kent, since she was 7wks old & now, she is going on 12yrs old, this Oct. 2015! I wouldn't trade that group for the world! I took my cat in to Dr. Kent after spending a fortune at another vet and not feeling like he was getting the treatment he needed.
Dr. Kent was very practical with her assessment of the situation and the treatment she provided. She really seemed to care about the well-being of my pet and he's back to normal!
