I've been using Dr Campbell as my Vet for 18 years.18 years. Started with him on General Boothe Blvd in Virginia Beach. Multiple dogs and cats. Westies (3), Cairn/Lhasa rescue, Schnoodle Rescue, Australian Terrier mix Rescue, and 3 cat rescues. Sent my kids with their pets to him. Sent my friend to him. My 10 year old Schnoodle is shaking, and I can't calm him. Call Dr Campbell and the front desk says no, you can't talk to a vet. Take him to Bay Beach on Nimmo Parkway in Virginia Beach. 18 years, and no, you can't speak to a vet. I'm part of the reason you are in that new facility. Such a shame that animal care no longer seems your priority.

Had my beloved dog Foxxy , the best friend i have ever had put down here not long ago. They did a wonderful job assuring she would be comfortable and not in pain but they made her wear a muzzle which I know stressed her . I feel a muzzle was not necessary considering how weak she already was and the fact that she was already loopy from being sedated with pain medicine. Also got a " business as usual" vibe from the vet. They did allow me and fiance all the time we needed to say goodbye as i was sobbing like a baby and for that I am grateful.

My lab/retriever mix was diagnosed by Dr. Campbell with a cruciate tear, which another vet had also diagnosed the same issue. We scheduled surgery with Dr. Campbell and it was done within 2 weeks. The surgery cost less than the estimate they gave me for it. (which was a pleasant surprise) He is always kind and knowledgable and answers my many questions. My dog has had several follow up appointments with Dr. Campbell which he did not charge because they said we were still checking on the cruciate repair. He did a great job and the practice is professional and pleasant in their demeanor, despite the fact that they get very busy at the front desk. I highly recommend this practice.

I have only been going to Edinburgh Animal Hospital for a little while, but I have to say that I am impressed. My Maine Coon, Lucy, presented with acute kidney problems due to meds given at a different clinic - needless to say - it was time to switch. Lucy is mending, and she will remain a patient at Edinburgh. I also brought one of my dogs to them - she was diagnosed and treated with expert care. Great doctors, friendly staff.

Had a wonderful experience! Staff is friendly and appointment was on time. Dr.Campbell addressed my dog's itchy paws after I had given up hope. His new prescription med has worked beautifully and my pup isn't miserable anymore!!! And I only brought the dog in for a vaccine! I live in Elizabeth City and have been seeing a local Veterinarian in my area since 2011. Luckily I didn't have many health issues with either of my pups so we were only in the Vets office for our annual checkups and the basic medicines (heartworm etc) I noticed something was wrong with my older dog Jackson who is a 10 year old Chocolate Lab. Thinking it was something simple I took him to my local vet. Little did I know what a crazy path I was heading down. Jackson's blood sugar was 554!! Normal high for dogs is 110. The vet I was going too didn't seem to think that was an issue and decided to try and treat him for Cushings Disease. I knew something was not right. By recommendation I called Edinburgh Animal Hospital for a second opinion for Jackson. They got me in that day. I am sure they could tell I was an emotional wreck and just wanted my baby boy back to normal. Dr. Rachel Mapes took the time to listen to what was going on and what the previous vet was saying. She was very thorough with everything she was explaining and what was really going on with Jackson. Turns out he is diabetic! I am not sure what would have happened to my boy if I would not have ended up at Edinburgh Animal Hospital. Even though they are a good 45 minute drive from my house I will be going here from now on! I am so elated to have found a vet that I feel comfortable with. We want nothing but the best for our furbabies and I know they will get that care here!! I wish I could give them 25 stars!!!

I switched to Edinburgh Animal Hospital a couple of years ago from another local vet whose prices had gone through the roof once they opened at a new location. It was no longer affordable and Edinburgh was recommended to me by several friends. The very first visit, which was a yearly checkup, cost a third of what I had been previously been paying for annual visits. I was also told by them (after reviewing his records from the previous vet) that my dog was being vaccinated for several things he did not need to be which was really upsetting to say the least. Not only were we being overcharged, but my dog was being injected with things he did not need. My dog is a senior and I have been very happy with his care at Edinburgh. They do not try to remove every lump and bump, etc. because mostly they are fatty tumors and not harmful. I really like that they do not want to do anything to him that they don't have to because they don't like to put senior dogs under unless absolutely necessary. He has, in fact, had to be put under to remove a severely infected tooth and they ran blood panels to be sure he could undergo the anesthesia and surgery. Their prices are very reasonable and I really feel that they care about what's best for my baby, not their pockets like a whole lot of vets these days. I do not have him see one doctor in particular. We have seen several and I have all been very happy with all of them. I highly recommend them.

I mostly have my visits with Dr. Campbell and he's always so friendly and patient while I ask question after question. He seems very knowledgeable and always goes through all my options and explains everything thoroughly to me.
I would recommend Edinburgh Animal Hospital to everyone! Between their friendly staff, knowledgeable doctors, and flexible hours, you really can't go wrong!

What I like most about them is they don't force you to spend extra money but rather explain the benefits of going one way or the other. And even recommend medicines and supplements that can be purchased at your local grocery store. Truly good southern people!

We just moved here from Indiana and were hesitant to find a new vet. We had an emergency situation for our 9 year old boxer and a cyst needed to be removed and a dental procedure done. Everyone from the office staff to the vets were AMAZING!!! They were attentive, caring, reasonably priced, understanding, patient, and you could tell they do what they do because they love animals. They did not charge us for things just to charge us, they gave us an honest price and did an excellent job on our fur baby's surgery. They called to check up on us a couple of times and offered further help if we needed it. I cannot say enough positive things about their practice!

My lab/retriever mix was diagnosed by Dr. Campbell with a cruciate tear, which another vet had also diagnosed the same issue. We scheduled surgery with Dr. Campbell and it was done within 2 weeks. The surgery cost less than the estimate they gave me for it. (which was a pleasant surprise) He is always kind and knowledgable and answers my many questions. My dog has had several follow up appointments with Dr. Campbell which he did not charge because they said we were still checking on the cruciate repair. He did a great job and the practice is professional and pleasant in their demeanor, despite the fact that they get very busy at the front desk. I highly recommend this practice.

He is also a great at diagnosing what is wrong with them. I have found that they try to keep the cost down for all their clients.

I have only been going to Edinburgh Animal Hospital for a little while, but I have to say that I am impressed. My Maine Coon, Lucy, presented with acute kidney problems due to meds given at a different clinic - needless to say - it was time to switch. Lucy is mending, and she will remain a patient at Edinburgh. I also brought one of my dogs to them - she was diagnosed and treated with expert care. Great doctors, friendly staff.

They've exceeded my expectations in their care, knowledge, and dispensing of information about my pet's health. Had a wonderful experience! Staff is friendly and appointment was on time. Dr.Campbell addressed my dog's itchy paws after I had given up hope. His new prescription med has worked beautifully and my pup isn't miserable anymore!!! And I only brought the dog in for a vaccine! So glad he took the time to bring up and issue we were clearly struggling with. Thank you! We'll see you in Jan for the yearly exam!

I live in Elizabeth City and have been seeing a local Veterinarian in my area since 2011. Luckily I didn't have many health issues with either of my pups so we were only in the Vets office for our annual checkups and the basic medicines (heartworm etc) I noticed something was wrong with my older dog Jackson who is a 10 year old Chocolate Lab. Thinking it was something simple I took him to my local vet. Little did I know what a crazy path I was heading down. Jackson's blood sugar was 554!! Normal high for dogs is 110. The vet I was going too didn't seem to think that was an issue and decided to try and treat him for Cushings Disease. I knew something was not right. By recommendation I called Edinburgh Animal Hospital for a second opinion for Jackson. They got me in that day. I am sure they could tell I was an emotional wreck and just wanted my baby boy back to normal. Dr. Rachel Mapes took the time to listen to what was going on and what the previous vet was saying. She was very thorough with everything she was explaining and what was really going on with Jackson. Turns out he is diabetic! I am not sure what would have happened to my boy if I would not have ended up at Edinburgh Animal Hospital. Even though they are a good 45 minute drive from my house I will be going here from now on! I am so elated to have found a vet that I feel comfortable with. We want nothing but the best for our furbabies and I know they will get that care here!! I wish I could give them 25 stars!!!

Absolutely the best practice around! Dr. Campbell is such a wonderful vet! I always feel that my dogs get the best of service and he acts like they are his own! When I lost my pet of 14yrs he took the time to acknowledge and call me that goes to show what kind of compassionate vet he is. I feel their prices are very reasonable too. I refer anyone I know that is looking for a vet to them. The girls are the best up front and always are there to help!

Truly the best vet staff around! I considered other wellness programs offered by national chain pet hospitals, but wanted a me personal touch for my German Shepherd puppy. So glad I chose Edinburgh Animal Hospital instead. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. They take time to ensure you and your pet experience exceeds all expectations! I'm very satisfied with everything they do. Max just loves them all! They've been my vet since I got my puppy 3 years ago!

I switched to Edinburgh Animal Hospital a couple of years ago from another local vet whose prices had gone through the roof once they opened at a new location. It was no longer affordable and Edinburgh was recommended to me by several friends. The very first visit, which was a yearly checkup, cost a third of what I had been previously been paying for annual visits. I was also told by them (after reviewing his records from the previous vet) that my dog was being vaccinated for several things he did not need to be which was really upsetting to say the least. Not only were we being overcharged, but my dog was being injected with things he did not need. My dog is a senior and I have been very happy with his care at Edinburgh. They do not try to remove every lump and bump, etc. because mostly they are fatty tumors and not harmful. I really like that they do not want to do anything to him that they don't have to because they don't like to put senior dogs under unless absolutely necessary. He has, in fact, had to be put under to remove a severely infected tooth and they ran blood panels to be sure he could undergo the anesthesia and surgery. Their prices are very reasonable and I really feel that they care about what's best for my baby, not their pockets like a whole lot of vets these days. I do not have him see one doctor in particular. We have seen several and I have all been very happy with all of them. I highly recommend them.

I mostly have my visits with Dr. Campbell and he's always so friendly and patient while I ask question after question. He seems very knowledgeable and always goes through all my options and explains everything thoroughly to me.
I would recommend Edinburgh Animal Hospital to everyone! Between their friendly staff, knowledgeable doctors, and flexible hours, you really can't go wrong!

I love edinburg animal hospital. The staff is wonderful and efficient. They have the best docs around. My three dogs actually enjoy their visit to their annual appointments for the first time.
What I like most about them is they don't force you to spend extra money but rather explain the benefits of going one way or the other. And even recommend medicines and supplements that can be purchased at your local grocery store. Truly good southern people!

We just moved here from Indiana and were hesitant to find a new vet. We had an emergency situation for our 9 year old boxer and a cyst needed to be removed and a dental procedure done. Everyone from the office staff to the vets were AMAZING!!! They were attentive, caring, reasonably priced, understanding, patient, and you could tell they do what they do because they love animals. They did not charge us for things just to charge us, they gave us an honest price and did an excellent job on our fur baby's surgery. They called to check up on us a couple of times and offered further help if we needed it. I cannot say enough positive things about their practice!
