They only earn two stars from me because in the last week, my Newfoundland became ill, unable to use his back legs. When I called to discuss bringing him in, I was sent to Bluepearl. Monday it was because they were closing in an hour. Tuesday ALL the doctors were leaving two hours early for a Continuing Education class. So, instead of having his vet of almost ten years, he was put to sleep at the emergency vet. Very upsetting and disappointing for my husband and I.
(I couldn't take him myself for personal reasons.)

My mom, one we moved her back to Virginia, had been taking Been to Hope Spring, Great Bridge Veterinary on Cedar Road before they joinied Hope Springs. I can honestly say, this was not a positive move in MY opinion. At the beginning of May, we had to take Ben to Bluepearl, because he was staying to have some problems. Hope Springs couldn't see him. During the follow-up next day at Hope Springs with his vet, they administered a pain shot, it was a very painful shot (hit his b...one, we believe). He let us know very vocally. Called Monday AM (May 14th) to alert them of his deterioration. Called again Monday evening immediately when my husband came home from work. But they were closing in an hour and said take him to Bluepearl. Kept him comfortable over night, and called on Tuesday. All of the vets are leaving at 6 pm for Continuing Education class. Dr. Harvey said to take him to Blue Pearl. We had to put him to sleep that night, May 15, 2018, at an emergency vet. NOT his vet of 10+ years. Very disappointed, and honestly not too sure what the future will hold. This is something that is not sitting comfortable with us about keeping them as our vet. See More

Instead of interrupting a meating to get permission to sell it to me, she refused to do this and had me leave with my puppy in this state. My vet is closed today, this is why I was coming here. While Great Bridge has a very nice building and generally friendly staff, this is the kind of vet that always tries to sell you some extra procedure or new medicine. Also, even with an appointment, the wait is awful. My last visit there, despite a 10:30 appointment, we didn't even see a tech until 11:10, to say nothing of the vet himself.However, the care is thorough, and the doctors are knowledgeable. Overall a good place to go, but not the best.

I have been using Hope Springs at Great Bridge (formerly known as Great Bridge Veterinary Hospital ) for 8 years for my pets. I LOVE this hospital & their veterinarians & staff. They are warm, caring, knowledgeable about many species of pets including exotics and perform up to date medical & surgical procedures in a modern facility. Mostly I feel at home there. When I go out of town & I entrust the care of my pets to them I know they are in safe, loving hands.

I like this practice overall. The building is clean, they have friendly staff at the front desk, and I like most of the vets I've seen. However, at my last visit I saw a vet that I don't ever care to see again. He was arrogant and didn't communicate much with me, except to push to have my dog's teeth cleaned, at a very high price, of course. He was so fixated on this that he never even asked me if I needed heartworm meds for my dog. He doesn't have his priorities straight and I didn't like his manner at all.

Took our 16 year old cocker to this vet. She was very ill and was in the final stages of her life. she had cushings. her liver was failing her. Instead of them telling us their was nothing they could do to save her, they kept pushing a procedure that required her being given something through an IV that would have cost about 1600.00 at the time. while we seriously were considering it, our cocker passed away about three days later. There was nothing they could have done to save her and they knew it. They just wanted the money. We took her back after she passed away, to have her cremated. a couple of months later, they sent a card telling us it was time for us to bring her in to get her shots. I was absolutely appalled, they didn't even care enough about her to update their records to reflect her passing. We loved her. She was part of our family. She mattered. Even though we live within a few blocks from this vet, I will never take our two new fur babies to this place.

My ferocious guard dog, Mr. Louie Pig Pig, hasn't been looking so good lately. We haven't been able to figure out why he's limping. He doesn't seem to be in any pain and doesn't squeal when you massage his leg and thigh. We decided to take him to GBVH for an examination. This was our first visit and upon entering Mr. Louie immediately grabbed the attention of the receptionist. It was love at first sight. :-D I mean, who can ignore those big eyes, pointy ears, and loud snoring sounds he makes while poking out his tongue? Anyway, after talking to the receptionist and completing some paperwork, we were placed in a room in less than 10 minutes. Once in the room, a lady came out and we discussed Mr. Louie's situation. We also discussed which shots he needed and the costs. I asked if she would clip his nails for me because I'm absolutely horrible at that. I may just need to invest in better nail clippers. She said that it would be absolutely no problem clipping his nails and she took Mr. Louie to the back and returned with Dr. Wendy Smithey who began his examination. She was very thorough and provided her recommendations and therapy activities we can do with him at home.I was pleased with my visit. I had expected to pay over $100 today because Mr. Louie was due for his shots. I paid $160 and we are scheduled to return in 2 weeks. I wish this facility provided health insurance. The receptionist recommended I try VPI (Veterinary Pet Insurance). I checked it out and you pay for your services upfront and then submit your invoice to VPI for a reimbursement. I'm not so crazy about that process but it's better to have insurance than to not have any at all.

If you have an emergency they are great and get you in asap. They also always call the next day after visits to make sure out pets are okay. We couldnt ask for a better vet.

My dogs and I love Great Bridge Vet! Kind, friendly staff and excellent quality care from the vets. I always feel like Dr. Morrissette takes the time to fully explain the problem and all of the treatment options. I always learn something which I appreciate. The facility is always clean and I have used and recommend the boarding service as well.
My only negative thought is that the bill is always higher than what I expect and now there is a charge for a follow up visit to check progress. I'm concerned that with multiple dogs I won't be able to afford all of the quality care that they deserve.

We have been taking our boxer to Great Bridge since we moved to the area in 2013. We have had an amazing experience every time. The staff are considerate and make your pet feel like family. We have seen all the vets, with Dr. Harvey being our main doctor. They really take the time to get to know you and your family, provide recommendations that are reasonable, and are very timely with their appointments. They do price-match for medications, which is really helpful so we can get them at the time of our appointment at the price we would have paid somewhere else that would ship them to us.
They always provide follow-on communication after your appointment to make sure your pet is doing well and answer any other questions you may have. We have taken our dog there for both wellness check-ups and surgery - highly recommend them!

We went to Great Bridge Veterinary Hospital for the first time late yesterday afternoon after our Dachshund got away from us in front of our home and tried to take on a German Shepard. The staff immediately greeted us when we walked through the door, and took Layla straight back to an exam room. She needed emergency surgery to clean and close four deep bite wounds, and throughout the whole ordeal we were kept informed and reassured by the staff and Dr. Harvey. Everyone and everything they did for Layla was great, and thanks to them Layla will soon be back to her usual, feisty self. This vet hospital now has a patient for life.

This place is great. We found a stray kitten that was starving, very underweight and had deep wounds on both of his back legs that were covered in maggots. They fixed him up as good as new and now he is happy and active and has the most adorable pudgy cheeks ever. Then they were there for me again when I had to have my cat stormy euthanized. They made the process as smooth as possible and even have me clay impressions of his paws to keep so I'd always have something special to remember him by. Then about a week later I revived a beautiful card signed by the staff letting me know that stormy and I were still in their thoughts. Thank you for all you have done for us. I <3 you guys.

Not a huge fan of GBVH. The staff at the front desk are so nice, but once in a room I'm not impressed. The doctors keep trying to force medications and procedures that are completely unnecessary. I actually had a vet tech tell me that what the doctor just advised was not needed and VERY expensive. The only reason why she wanted to sell the procedure was because it was a new machine and the doctors had a bet who could sell the procedure first. Needless to say I've never gone back. On top of this, every time I had to go in I had to plan on paying at least $200 on one animal. Way too expensive!!!

They are not as expensive but worth the money that you pay. Very friendly staff and even go out of their way to help you even if its a small problem. They only earn two stars from me because in the last week, my Newfoundland became ill, unable to use his back legs. When I called to discuss bringing him in, I was sent to Bluepearl. Monday it was because they were closing in an hour. Tuesday ALL the doctors were leaving two hours early for a Continuing Education class. So, instead of having his vet of almost ten years, he was put to sleep at the emergency vet. Very upsetting and disappointing for my husband and I.
(I couldn't take him myself for personal reasons.)

My mom, one we moved her back to Virginia, had been taking Been to Hope Spring, Great Bridge Veterinary on Cedar Road before they joinied Hope Springs. I can honestly say, this was not a positive move in MY opinion. At the beginning of May, we had to take Ben to Bluepearl, because he was staying to have some problems. Hope Springs couldn't see him. During the follow-up next day at Hope Springs with his vet, they administered a pain shot, it was a very painful shot (hit his b...one, we believe). He let us know very vocally. Called Monday AM (May 14th) to alert them of his deterioration. Called again Monday evening immediately when my husband came home from work. But they were closing in an hour and said take him to Bluepearl. Kept him comfortable over night, and called on Tuesday. All of the vets are leaving at 6 pm for Continuing Education class. Dr. Harvey said to take him to Blue Pearl. We had to put him to sleep that night, May 15, 2018, at an emergency vet. NOT his vet of 10+ years. Very disappointed, and honestly not too sure what the future will hold. This is something that is not sitting comfortable with us about keeping them as our vet. See More

While Great Bridge has a very nice building and generally friendly staff, this is the kind of vet that always tries to sell you some extra procedure or new medicine. Also, even with an appointment, the wait is awful. My last visit there, despite a 10:30 appointment, we didn't even see a tech until 11:10, to say nothing of the vet himself.However, the care is thorough, and the doctors are knowledgeable. Overall a good place to go, but not the best.

I like this practice overall. The building is clean, they have friendly staff at the front desk, and I like most of the vets I've seen. However, at my last visit I saw a vet that I don't ever care to see again. He was arrogant and didn't communicate much with me, except to push to have my dog's teeth cleaned, at a very high price, of course. He was so fixated on this that he never even asked me if I needed heartworm meds for my dog. He doesn't have his priorities straight and I didn't like his manner at all.

Took our 16 year old cocker to this vet. She was very ill and was in the final stages of her life. she had cushings. her liver was failing her. Instead of them telling us their was nothing they could do to save her, they kept pushing a procedure that required her being given something through an IV that would have cost about 1600.00 at the time. while we seriously were considering it, our cocker passed away about three days later. There was nothing they could have done to save her and they knew it. They just wanted the money. We took her back after she passed away, to have her cremated. a couple of months later, they sent a card telling us it was time for us to bring her in to get her shots. I was absolutely appalled, they didn't even care enough about her to update their records to reflect her passing. We loved her. She was part of our family. She mattered. Even though we live within a few blocks from this vet, I will never take our two new fur babies to this place.

My ferocious guard dog, Mr. Louie Pig Pig, hasn't been looking so good lately. We haven't been able to figure out why he's limping. He doesn't seem to be in any pain and doesn't squeal when you massage his leg and thigh. We decided to take him to GBVH for an examination. This was our first visit and upon entering Mr. Louie immediately grabbed the attention of the receptionist. It was love at first sight. :-D I mean, who can ignore those big eyes, pointy ears, and loud snoring sounds he makes while poking out his tongue? Anyway, after talking to the receptionist and completing some paperwork, we were placed in a room in less than 10 minutes. Once in the room, a lady came out and we discussed Mr. Louie's situation. We also discussed which shots he needed and the costs. I asked if she would clip his nails for me because I'm absolutely horrible at that. I may just need to invest in better nail clippers. She said that it would be absolutely no problem clipping his nails and she took Mr. Louie to the back and returned with Dr. Wendy Smithey who began his examination. She was very thorough and provided her recommendations and therapy activities we can do with him at home.I was pleased with my visit. I had expected to pay over $100 today because Mr. Louie was due for his shots. I paid $160 and we are scheduled to return in 2 weeks. I wish this facility provided health insurance. The receptionist recommended I try VPI (Veterinary Pet Insurance). I checked it out and you pay for your services upfront and then submit your invoice to VPI for a reimbursement. I'm not so crazy about that process but it's better to have insurance than to not have any at all.

My dogs and I love Great Bridge Vet! Kind, friendly staff and excellent quality care from the vets. I always feel like Dr. Morrissette takes the time to fully explain the problem and all of the treatment options. I always learn something which I appreciate. The facility is always clean and I have used and recommend the boarding service as well.
My only negative thought is that the bill is always higher than what I expect and now there is a charge for a follow up visit to check progress. I'm concerned that with multiple dogs I won't be able to afford all of the quality care that they deserve.

We have been taking our boxer to Great Bridge since we moved to the area in 2013. We have had an amazing experience every time. The staff are considerate and make your pet feel like family. We have seen all the vets, with Dr. Harvey being our main doctor. They really take the time to get to know you and your family, provide recommendations that are reasonable, and are very timely with their appointments. They do price-match for medications, which is really helpful so we can get them at the time of our appointment at the price we would have paid somewhere else that would ship them to us.
They always provide follow-on communication after your appointment to make sure your pet is doing well and answer any other questions you may have. We have taken our dog there for both wellness check-ups and surgery - highly recommend them!

We went to Great Bridge Veterinary Hospital for the first time late yesterday afternoon after our Dachshund got away from us in front of our home and tried to take on a German Shepard. The staff immediately greeted us when we walked through the door, and took Layla straight back to an exam room. She needed emergency surgery to clean and close four deep bite wounds, and throughout the whole ordeal we were kept informed and reassured by the staff and Dr. Harvey. Everyone and everything they did for Layla was great, and thanks to them Layla will soon be back to her usual, feisty self. This vet hospital now has a patient for life.

This place is great. We found a stray kitten that was starving, very underweight and had deep wounds on both of his back legs that were covered in maggots. They fixed him up as good as new and now he is happy and active and has the most adorable pudgy cheeks ever. Then they were there for me again when I had to have my cat stormy euthanized. They made the process as smooth as possible and even have me clay impressions of his paws to keep so I'd always have something special to remember him by. Then about a week later I revived a beautiful card signed by the staff letting me know that stormy and I were still in their thoughts. Thank you for all you have done for us. I <3 you guys.

Not a huge fan of GBVH. The staff at the front desk are so nice, but once in a room I'm not impressed. The doctors keep trying to force medications and procedures that are completely unnecessary. I actually had a vet tech tell me that what the doctor just advised was not needed and VERY expensive. The only reason why she wanted to sell the procedure was because it was a new machine and the doctors had a bet who could sell the procedure first. Needless to say I've never gone back. On top of this, every time I had to go in I had to plan on paying at least $200 on one animal. Way too expensive!!!
